Title: Whats the max amount of LL i can do? (5'4 stats & pics)
Post by: 165cm hero on December 07, 2022, 06:07:13 AM
Hey guys. Im about 5'4 and i measured my proportions disregarding the neck and head. The measurements wont be that accurate but I have included pictures for that.
My LL goal is to be around 5'10 and I'm wondering if that is possible with my proportions. Thanks!

Height: 5'4 exactly (measured evening)
Armspan: 5'4

Legs (total) 2'11 1/2
  > tibia: 1'4 1/2
  > femur: 1'5 1/2

Torso: 1'5 1/2

Will i look disproportionate if i go 8 cm femur and 7cm tibia? Do u think i need to get arm lengthening too?

Probably stop at 5 foot 7 to avoid looking quite odd.  But you should Photoshop mockups with different heights.

8cm femurs and 5cm tibias are the safe maximum limits for each segment. That’s a bit over 5 inches. That’s likely the most you should do to avoid being excessively disproportionate and to stay safe from excessive muscle tightness, loss of athletic ability, arthritis, deformities, and nerve damage.

About mock-ups for LL, I offer that service for a small fee. I have done this for other people considering or planning to go through LL surgery.

Otherwise you’ll have to figure out how to do it yourself.

Your Tibias look like you already had LL done on them.
Your wingspan only leaves room for one surgery, so that will have to be femurs.

Normal people have a wingspan that is up to 2 inches longer or shorter than their height, beyond that it becomes rare and more noticeable, and you end up at the other end of the normal distribution bell curve. You are already break even with your wingspan.

I would only do 5-6 cm max on femurs in your case.

Thats unfortunate... im willing to do arm lengthening too. Is 5-6cm on the femurs the most i can do? Is it possible for me to go for 3 inches on the femur and 2 on the tibia?

Thanks for the input! I'll conaider your mock up service. I'm kind of confused though because I am getting mixed messages from people. Some have to told i can only do 2 inches on the tibia max and others like you have said i can do some extra work on the femur and tibia combined.

I am willing to do arm lengthening to compensate.

3 inches and 2 inches is possible.
I'm just wondering about your proportions since you asked specifically about it.

After one LL surgery you would have the same proportions as me who already did 2 surgeries. You doing 2 surgeries would be like me doing a third one in terms of proportions. And that can't possible look good. That's what I'm trying to say.

These are my current measurements:
sitting height 86 cm
height 168-169 cm
wingspan 164 cm

I would not go beyond that. It would look bad.
