Pain with external only tibia

How painful is it? Does the pain level differ at 2 cm vs 5 cm for example? What meds do you recommend me to buy? Will I need injections or only pills?

Also, what advice would you give for sleeping? How hard is it to fall asleep at night and get uninterrupted sleeping for at at least 7-8 hours?
