Here's the response from Korea University Medical Center Guro Hospital.

This is Dr.Park, I'm a assistant professor and currently working with Dr.Song.

We do limb lengthening for foreign patients. And there is no limitation of height amd we also do cosmetic lengthening.  And for the adult patient, we usually use LON technique. But it depends on the condition of the patient.

Pricing

1. The total amount of cost will be changed according to your condition, expected amount of lengthening, and duration of stay in our hospital.

Usually, initial surgery will be cost about 30,000 USD for LON (Lengthening over nail) of tibia. (Femur...is same) And duration of hospitalization will be about three weeks. The cost what I mentioned is all the cost including operation, hospitalization, and physiotherapy for about 2-3 weeks.

Second surgery...for interlocking screw insertion +- additional soft tissue surgery for equinous (heelcord contracture) correction will be cost about 10,000 ~ 15,000 USD

Technique and Lengthening Amount

2. We prefer LON. not LATN.

Based on our experiences, more complications were observed in femoral lengthening. And complication rates was increased in cases with lengthening of more than 30% of initial length.  So, usually, for tibia, we lengthened about 7 - 8 cm. and for femur we lengthened about 5-7cm.

Recovery

3. Walking should be started 3 days after the surgery.  Without crutch...it depends on the condition, but usually, you should be cautious during at least 6 months after the surgery.

Experience

4. Professor Hae-Ryong Song will perform the surgery.   Cosmetic lengthening...more than 100 idiopathic (cosmetic) lengthening.
