Title: Anyone else becoming shorter when taking midday nap?
Post by: TinyTL on September 24, 2018, 08:40:37 PM
I think my spinal disks are being compressed but I lose around 2 cm when i take a midday nap.
I hate being so self-conscious about this, some days im ridiculously tired but I try to stay awake so I don't shrink

Its small things like that which tilts me towards LL, i want to be a free man again. I want to live without such fear and self-conscioussness.

You don't get shorter laying on your back,It's the complete opposite, axial loading throughout the day compresses the discs, hence making you shorter. You've got it the wrong way round buddy.

I already know the spinal discs get decompressed when i sleep at night, hence feeling taller in morning and shorter in night.
But the midday sleeping is not a joke. It goes in opposite direction, I experience it and thats why I asked if anyone else felt it too.
Its instantly noticable, like the floor is closer to my eyes when i get up from bad.

It doesn't happen.
When I sleep for 1-2 hours after 8-10 hours awake and not laying on my back, I gain about 1 cm.

Anyway, it is impossible to lose height when sleeping. Imoossible. Something you are measuring wrong.
