I come from Canada.
38.
male.
The original height is 162cm.
170cm now.
I don't regret having this surgery at all.
I think it's very worth doing.
English is not my native language, so I use translation software, and I apologize if the reading is not smooth.
I just want to share a little experience. I hope it will help people who do surgery in the future.
I had the surgery in January and everything went well, the doctor was nice, the hospital was nice.
progress:
Femoral augmentation surgery in January,
Completed the pull-up in April,
go back to canada
July xray showed 75% recovery of left leg.
But the right leg is only forty percent.
At the end of July, the bad thing was that I was too careless,
I didn't stand still when I laced my shoes and fell,
The left intramedullary needle is broken.
The doctor initially wanted to continue to observe.
Maybe he wants me to not change the intramedullary needle on my left side.
Hold until fully recovered.
But it's October.
My right side is still 40% recovered and the bones are not growing.
So I'm about to start replacing both legs with supportable intramedullary pins in November.
Because the left intramedullary needle is broken.
The right bone is not long.
At first I thought if I was walking too much and it affected my right leg recovery. Because my bedroom is on the second floor.
Sometimes I go out to eat with my family.
Often helps wife pick up children.
But I saw someone on the forum today actually walk for two hours a day.
Another friend told me that he checked the information and found that 10% of people's bones just can't grow, it's just luck.
I think it's because I often stay up late because of work. My body may be a little old, and my metabolism isn't that fast.
So I personally think that if you exclude the luck factor.
If you smoke a lot and stay up late, you are not a fitness expert.
I recommend switching to weight-bearing intramedullary needles as soon as the lift is complete. This will save time.
Be prepared to not be able to walk for 4-8 months. if you are not young.
An important option is to replace the weight-supporting intramedullary needle as soon as the lift is complete.
You have to be very, very, very careful in the first three months when the lengthening is over and the bones start to grow.
If again.
I would choose not to go out very often.
I would choose to spend most of the first three months in the bedroom.
But complete pt at least 3 times a day.
Every half hour.
Finally, I wish all my friends all the best.

Maybe cause of your age? And you broke your IM nail on the left side? Maybe that's why your bone didn't grow back? Can you give us your doctors diagnosis? And can you share your weight? You had Precice 2.2?
-
So what happens if your bones don't grow? Is this temporary or permanent?
-
Hi ALVIN T,
who was your surgeon?
-
Have you eaten vitamin D at least 50-100mg/daily + Magnesium + Calcium + Vitamin K? They will speed up bone growth and if you have significant lack of them it might even cause cessation of bone growth.
Also I would personally recommend for everyone Omega 3 (E-Epa) - fish oil and vitamin C from natural sources.
-
-
-
I think even if it continues to grow, it will be very slow, I can't use the walker for a few years, it is too inconvenient, this is a problem that some people will encounter
-
I think I'm not very old ;D. My right side is not damaged. The slowest one is the right side. Maybe it's because of my body.
-
Weight 80kg
-
I have taken these supplements
-
Who is your doctor?
-
Cuz you lengthened the maximum amount. It requires significant amount of time for that much continuous new bones to fully generate, for any age. However it seemed you started to mobilize too soon within 3mo of consolidation? Going out with family, picking up kids were way beyond what you're supposed to do during recovery.
IMO causes are: max 8cm lengthening, little recovery time, excessive movements during consolidation, careless act of lacing your shoes causing the IM nail to break, your age; from most to least significant.
-
Did you regret the surgery?
-
Bro where did you surgery in which country?
-
Do you smoke?
-
This guy prob went to India and got botched. You get what you pay for. Buyer Beware.
-
I did it in the western US.
I didn't say the city name because I just said the city.
Everyone will know which doctor I am looking for.
because I'm not recovering well.
I don't want to trouble the clinic.
Because I think this reason comes from me personally.
no matter the doctor.
-
no
-
tell the truth
At first I planned to do the thighs first
Second year doing calf
If my hands look short
Continue to stretch the hand in the third year
this is my goal
However, due to the recovery time of the thigh as long as a year
I'm hesitant now
-
I honestly don't want to give the name of the clinic
I can tell you I did it in the American West

you are right

Your broken nail is PRECICE2.2?
-
Hello ALVIN T
What is your lengthening method
LON or PRECICE?
-
Was it done by Dr. D. in Las Vegas?
-
no
Do you smoke? Can you reply
-
If you have smoked during healing phase obviously you will end up nonunion.
Smoking kills new bone generation.
Have you tried to get stemcell injections to your bones?
-
ALVIN T, please tell us your LL surgeon. I implore you!
-
i don't smoke
do not drink
But before the surgery, I often used to stay up late because of work
-
Feel sorry
I do not disclose clinic information and clinic prices
so as not to confuse others
-
I just hope everyone
1. Be careful with your nails
2. That nail is easier to break than I thought. I fell down when I was bending over to tie my shoelace, and then it broke. If it breaks, you will definitely replace the nail.
3. Pay attention to rest, pay attention to diet, and supplement with health products, recovery may be better
4. In fact, some people can consider changing the support nails immediately after the elongation is completed.
-
yes
-
before i using PRECICE 2.2
Weight-supporting nails are now replaced
-
Alvin, how many millimeters did you lengthen per day?
-
I remember 1mm a day
But at the end
The doctor told me 0.75mm
I don't remember very well
My pull-up time went on for about three months
-
yes
Thanks for your reply.
I understood that your PRECICE 2.2 broke.
You should use "Quote" in your reply so we know which question you are replying to.

Did they replaced your Precice nail to a weight bearing nail? And did they charge you for this?
-

I think you should be mobile during consolidation that would promote bone healing. Bones need compression forces.

Have you tried stem cells, bone grafting or bone stimulator devices like the one below?

If I break a nail (Precice) and have to replace it, how much will I have to pay? I am worried that it is expensive...
-
You have to walk in order for the bone to grow but with precise you can’t and I think that’s why it’s not growing. I would advise to change the nail for a weight bearing one as so my as possible and walk as much as you can every day
-
Any update? about the bone formation and your walking?
-
I also want to know his calorie intake. How much calcium, vitamin D3, K and B did he comsume? Dr. Assayag compares caloric intake in height-lengthening surgery to running all day. One needs a lot of protein intake to support bone growth.
-
ALVIN T, your story is very helpful , and thank you!
Are you getting better now?
-
Any update?
