A little about me:
Had this procedure in mind for at least 7 years but couldn't gather up time or at times money or at times will to do, this time I finally went for it, came to Delhi enquired around with different doctors and all the famous names out there few of them are undoubtedly good and qualified while few came across as sellers trying to sell their service which is fine if it isn't my legs at chopping board and them using bit little over of their smartness.
I had been in contact with Dr. Hirdesh Kumar(Harry) and Dr. Pradip Sharma for about a year or more as I was with other doctors met one of their(Dr. Harry and Dr. Sharma) patient in Gurgaon which gave somewhat of confidence to kick ahead and took a decision.
Summary:
Starting heigh: 160cm
Target height: 165cm(I don't want to aim too high and was always scared of proportions)
Surgeon: Dr. Pradip Sharma
http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=64314.0
Physiotherapist: Dr. Hirdesh Kumar(Harry)
Cost: 15000USD
Surgery Duration: 4 to 5hours(I slept during surgery didn't really bother to check the time when I woke up and my time in other wards after OT, because this wasn't a time game for me to go for Guinness book of LL records)
Biggest discomfort: Not being mobile for menial tasks like to use the washroom without help(I have thought of many things before the surgery during my research, but using washroom somehow didn't cross my mind, this could be because most doctors I met/spoke said I be walking in 3 days with frames which didn't sound that bad)
Now the journey:
I met Harry for few times but all this time was questioning myself should I really go through it all or just stay with some insoles and make peace, but had an open mind made an appointment with Dr. Pradip Sharma did an X-ray he has gone through pros and cons and somehow I finally said them I want to do it, and we started the procedure.
Day 1: 12/10/2019 arrived at hospital(quite modern and comfortable can say to the standards of west) at 10:00AM done the documentation and stuff to checkin did few tests and we had our surgery scheduled at 01:00PM, to be honest back of my head I was still thinking to back down but I guess thankfully I didn't, 01:30PM after all pre OT checks arrived in OT on operation table not really nervous but just trying to process whatever going around and somewhere in me it felt enthusiastic and happy I wanted this from a long time. Dr. Pradip Sharma asked if I want to be conscious or sleep, I was tired so I went to sleep woke up in the last hour or 30 minutes of operation, could sense they banging/cutting/nailing/doing something on my legs apart from that couldn't feel physically anything. After the surgery did few other checks and medications and finally back to room(in hospital) by around 8PM, I could move my toes and feet for half an inch or less, but rest of legs were heavy as if some elephant was sitting on them felt like my knee caps are being crushed all of this was discomfort I was feeling, not really a pain, general physician that was taking care didn't seem to have much of a clue of LL so had to involve Dr. Sharma and Dr. Harry all this time I was asking for sleeping pills repeatedly because I wanted to sleep but couldn't they increased my sedative they were giving and I guess few pain killers and I finally slept.
Day 2: Had little pain in left leg and some considerable discomfort(my pain levels are maybe bit high so I characterized it as discomfort) still could only move toes and feet for some inch to 1.5 max, thoughts came to do other surgery(of frame removal) on that same day and take off these frames and be happy with 2mm of height they gave in surgery and make peace with it, can't move much, felt as if time passing too slow, sedative is still on so bottom part of my body is too heavy and was bit regretting the whole thing I went for, even that night I might have slept 2 hours max, generally I don't sleep much, resting on bed whole day and trying to sleep isn't my thing.
Day 3: Started feeling bit positive and wishing this two months with frame on pass quick, they had catheter for urine so that wasn't an issue but I didn't poop so far, but I felt bit of pressure building up I tried on bed-pan but wasn't successful and tried again after lunch with some medication I finally did poop, but this was most ty experience to with someones help and had them clean and not do it yourself, even this day I would have slept max 2 hours. I was resting on the bed all day so I wasn't looking like a zombie without sleep.
Day 4: They stopped sedative completely and took off the pee-bag, this was another pain I had to force every time I had to pee in the pee-pot, by this time I was praying to be mobile so I could least use washroom, not much of pain but bit discomfort also because am laying on bed all day, this day Dr. Harry made me sit on bed never been that excited in my life to sit, I asked for sleeping pills again with Dr. Sharma which he finally agreed but seems on small dosage that had no effect on me but I did sleep for some 6 hours this time, but after an hour of pills, so not really sure of pills or after being tired with TV and internet
Day 5: I can move my feet and knees a bit but can't really move a leg without someone's help, they discharged me around 6 PM, I asked to be transferred to wheelchair than as a corpse laid on stretcher, was for sure painful especially if someone pulls or bends by mistake had to take help of three for this transfer, back to guest house felt like home and better, I dunno if this transfer to wheelchair had given some massage to my legs I can move my legs bit more(with my hands holding the frame) and than I could transfer to rolling office chair in guest house so to go for washroom but still someone needs to push the chair for me to move, but seems some improvement I can transfer from bed to chair and chair to bed or WC, never been this thankful to use WC in life.
Day 6: 04:00AM in early morning I felt the pressure to poop, I was alone in guest house I am staying, caretaker went to his home last night after helping me, no clue how I did I transferred to rolling chair pushed myself for some 4 feets, I felt my sugar levels dropped and I turned pale, stayed there for a good minute or so and proceeded to washroom transferred to WC myself and back to bed same way, I have no clue how I pulled it off at that time was nothing less than a horror in a way, caretaker came around 9AM went to washroom again this time I tried to move rolling chair myself but couldn't do much, or maybe its like in gym when you are pushing alone you push it hard, when there is someone to help/support your brain eases you down and not get to that extreme.
We take for granted few daily tasks we do I certainly did, as few doctors said I be walking with support in some 3 to 5 days(another backdrop on my part I didn't gave much attention to patient dairies I certainly did read them, but now I feel I must have not read whole of it or with attention), so I thought I should be able to use washroom too but wasn't the case with me and it is one key part of life one should consider and prepare themselves before venturing into LL, pain has always been manageable at least for me, but legs are still swollen(tibia part) and feels heavy but getting better by every day and movement, will keep you guys posted with time.
As for now, I feel thankful that I didn't back off or would have regretted not doing it, for better or worse we live only once so it isn't bad to make it comfortable and confident whichever way you feel the best.
-
Thought I'd post some pics it's from Day 7: at times as before feels pain if I take off an ankle rest two towels you see in pics, had to remove bed covers and white-out surroundings coz few might recognize so sorry for that

Hey Nomad
First 5 days were the worst for me probably. With LON the first surgery is so massive, plus the painkillers you need, it takes a toll on you initially. Everything feels like a swirl the first week but eventually you learn a routine to get by with the frames on.
Good luck! You'll be out of the frames before you know it.
-
Thanks Bluehen your dairy is one those that gave me confidence to go ahead
-
From past days my legs are swollen like baloon full on to the level i could feel my skin is tight as hell if i make movements it cause pressure and bit discomfort at stitches area, did anyone had sam issues? And how was your sleep and pain? Today i had to take ultracet for ankle pain
-
Hi ,Congratulations nomad13. one more Dr Sharma’s patient diary.
Man swelling is normal for few days after surgery , you should elevate your legs for some time .
Keep updates.
-
Thanks beforeandafter, I did elavate last night was uncomfortable as hell for sure, apart from swellings i do have some good movement in legs

Day 10: Started lengthening, 1mm per day, not much pain during lengthening apart from usual ankle pain at pin sites(if I don't have ankle rest and leave ankle in air hanging from the frame.

Day 13: Alway felt the frame in right leg bit tighter, was doing leg raising exercise felt a click in the right leg, during the click it pained bit bad, but still, nothing over the roof, spoke to PT(Harry) about this, he said it's normal
-
Hi nomad13
Thanks for sharing your journey with us! It is a really hard one. But the hardest part is to start this. You already finished the hardest part.
Keep up the good work!
-
Thanks for sharing your experience. Keep us update.
-
Thanks, Ghostfish and Joker :)
Day 19: by end of today I had lengthened 1CM doing 1mm each day, had pain in hamstring tendon for two days from day 17 which faded away, not much of pain bit constant discomfort in a way which is manageable as I take my mind of doing other stuff on a laptop or reading something, couldn't sleep much in nights it could also be because I am taking small naps during day and I am not a heavy sleeper.
Will do x-ray tomorrow lets see how it unfolded so far, but as per Harry(PT) my left leg might have lengthened a bit more.
-
Hello brother thanks for the diary! I have a quick question if you would be so kind to answer
Did your doctors perform preventive fasciotomy on you during/before surgery? I know Paley recommends it with all tibial internal cases but wonder if it's commonplace for LON.
-
@Wavemaker, Dr. Sharma didn't perform any fasciotomy, I haven't heard of it by other doctors I enquired either
-
Day 20: by end of today I have turned 1.1cm(11mm), I did x-ray this afternoon as per those I had lengthened 1.46cm in one leg and 1.43 in other, those in extra are from gap they left in operation, anyway it feels good because of 5 days less of wearing frames. No ballerina as of now

hey mate, Did you ask Dr Sharma why the bone break is not in a straight line and there is a bone piece on the side?
Congrats on 1 cm you are making progress
-
Your X-ray looks good man . Are you feeling any pain and discomfort in this level.
I think this kind of osteotomy good for callus growth , callus grow fast in this kind of bone break. Or may be bone is too strong for clean cut so shattered during the surgery. That’s what I read in KiloKHAN’s diary , bone also break like that.
-
@Beforeandafter you are right about bone break, I read kind of same that if your bone break is clean and straight callus growth might not be that better in comporsion to when its bit rough, anyway will ask this with doctor and get back to you @Limewalk
I don't have much of pain but discomfort is constant at times it fades away but mostly it's there and it's hard to sleep, got few dumbbells now to workout, trying to tire myself if it helps in sleep
-
As per Dr. Sharma osteotomy performed this way helps callus growth rather if it's cut clean straight
-
Day 25: In general I don't feel much of pain now, except for in right leg feels light burning sensation near bone break and nerve pull
-
Keep going man. How much have you lengthened? I would recommend gaining whole of 6/6.5 if you're gonna regret later.
-
thanks thatguy19, but I don't want to go over 5cm one for being safe side and most important I don't want to make any more obvious for my friends and family the difference in my height
-
Day 26: by end of today I had lengthened 1.7cm(plus 2 or 3mm of surgery not counted), from last two days I had some pull building up in right leg nerve this started paining a bit more than usual(but manageable) on my pain scale would call some 4 to 5 out of 10, I had been ignoring thera band exercises a bit, after pain I thought I should do it, I did like 10 sets of 1 minute each it reduced the pain/discomfort to 95% almost
-
Day 27: Dr. Sharma visited to see nerve/muscle pull as per him it's not bad, bcoz i had pull build up inner side of calf not outer side(where there are nerves), he prescribed Pregaba M 75 twice a day and Neurobios forte(vitamin b12) twice a day.
Day 30: It been a month today from day of surgery, i lengthened 2.1cm as of today (without considering gap in surgery), feels like some milestone another 35 to 40 days i be off with frames
-
Day 37: By end of today I lengthened 2.8cm(without considering surgery gap), no ballerina so far, but my right leg ankle was paining from past, I started to observe it was curving to right(outward)(observed around day 28), it use to pain pretty much most of the time if i pull it with thera band i get relief for sometime
(https://i.imgur.com/5eqmNg8m.jpg)
https://i.imgur.com/5eqmNg8
My PT got this belt fixed to my sandals(right from the start) so to avoid ballerina, but I noticed the belt slides back and forth allowing right leg to curve, I kept two safety pins each side, so not to make it slide, for starting 4 to 5 days with pins it use to pain because am forcing my foot to stay in position, this faded off now my foot is starting to straighten out, thought of using night splint as prevention to avoid ballerina, but it might not be good option to fit with frames on, what did you guys do for ballerina and to avoid ballerina, please let me know it could be of help for me and for others

Day 40: Lengthened 3.1cm so far, started standing from yesterday, was for sure bit painful, felt clicks(I guess from pins) as I lower my weight down to touch ankles to ground, and feels clicks as I take my weight off the ground, as I take weight off I feel some intense pain on right leg for like some 5 to 10 seconds and it goes away, I marked the pain region in picture, as per PT its because nail is still not screwed in bottom and its free to move and might be putting pressure on bone, started feeling this pain like from 10 days i feel it when I do thera band pull exercises apart from this I don't feel any pains but discomfort of having some metal cages on both legs.

-
Day 42: I did xray in the afternoon by when I lengthened 3.25cm as per me by turning(which be 3.3 by end of day) but xray showed some complete off figures may be its due to inaccuracy of software, will go to next xray in first week of december lets see, hope to have these frames off before 10th of december

Day 44: From past 3 or 4 days right leg feels bit heavy with pain i guess its after 3cm, trying to do leg lift exercises and pull with thera band hope it goes down, from yesterday(day 43) reduced the lengthening to 0.75 per day
-
Congratulations nomad 13
Your X-ray looks good. Focus on your diet and nutrition for good callus.
.75 is good idea after 3 cm for your muscles and callus.
-

Thanks Adios, how are you doing and how is your recovery
-
Day 48: Doesn't have much of pain except of some time as it pops up sleeping, is still hard in nights I have to lay around for an hour or two before I fall asleep, no ballerina as of now, my ankles completely touch the ground without effort as I stand.
-
posting this comment on behalf of Dr. Sharma and Dr. Harry, they are reviewing the price from January, it will $16,000
-
Day 53: started walking(frames on) with walker, would have walked for 10ft, i tried to walk in past when i started standing but it was painful back then, not much of pain this time but wasn't confident so limited with 10ft
-
Day 54: Did x-ray today afternoon I had lengthened 4.225 by then(without considering any offset of previous x-rays or OT gap) got different figures in AP view and lateral view but am pretty much convinced I might have reached atleast 4.7 in lengthening which is quite enough for me, for now I am planning to turn(lengthen) only left leg another 2mm(0.5mm/day) from tomorrow to catch up to right and finally this metal contraptions going to come off me next week finally. I might or I might not lengthen another 1mm or 2mm both legs at end(next week) but looking at proportions as of now I am pretty satisfied with what I achieved.

How are you ?
You doing good , your posts are really impressive.
You mind if I ask how did you paid because they are asking some booking amount online, is that safe?
Did you also paid the same way?

Are you planning to do the surgery soon? In Delhi?
-
@Smaller Hi, I am good thanks for asking, I think I was only one that did other way around, I didn't pay online I came to India(I am originally from India but I live in EU, in my case I didn't require medical visa either) I did my research met patients of Dr. Sharma whose dairies I read here, it gave me confidence to go ahead and then I paid booking amount it took them some 10 days or a week to organize the surgery. three days before I paid whole amount.
I guess if you pay early you wouldn't have to wait for surgery perhaps, for payment I used transferwise, it offered good forex, less commission to transfer and it takes some few hours to 3 days for transfer(so plan accordingly), I really appreciate both Dr, Sharma and Dr. Harry(PT) they are quite helpful in every stage and are always reachable. I liked the attitude of Dr. Sharma

Sure Dreamer57 I will try uploading a video walking may be after frame removal, for now even when I stand I have to be conscious of being straight its for both my spine and knees, I only walked for few times with frames, will try if I could manage it, thanks for motivating words, it been one hell of journey, one I would have regretted if I hadn't
-
Okay man, don't worry you are gonna come off alright...btw after this much of a lengthening do you feel tall...??
-
at 165/166 might be still short for few, but I am happy with it, don't want to push it more and end up with long legs, I workout so it should compensate a bit
-

165 is average in India, even Amir Khan is 5'5"....so atleast you have come in the average group , and probably height is relative ...cuz there r some ppl on this forum who 5'10 and 6" by still they want to do the surgery....
I meant to ask that do you feel taller than before....if yes then that's all that matters...

I didn't even start walking to feel tall, and rest this is going to be relative now, majority of people who go through CLL doesn't do to feel tall rather to overcome their height dysphoria and feel better
-
Yeah you are pretty much right...bt I meant to say...by the phrase "feel tall" that taller than what you were before , which will indeed kill your height dysphoria.

Day 61: Came to hospital around 06:46AM with Harry, for frame removal had surgery at 08:30, this time they had general anesthesia as I was supposed to discharge on same day, met Dr. Sharma in OT, was feeling cold in OT they kept some device with pipe around my chest that passed warm air. I woke up in post-OT at around 10:30 had some terrible pain, didn't had this much of pain in first surgery as i had spinal anaesthesia, they gave me painkiller in IV liquids, it took some 10 minutes to kick in and pain went down from around 8 to 3 out of 10, now I am in my room in hospital.
I already feel better without frames feel much lighter, didn't had much of pain with frames but wasn't comfortable especially sleeping in them was like hell(not as in pain but in terms of discomfort), in last days frames felt pretty much part of my body didn't had pain but still wasn't comfortable for nothing and my legs felt heavy as i already lost weight.
Looking back from the day of first surgery, it was one hell of a journey by frame removal feels like another milestone in this journey, couldn't thank enough Dr. Harry and Dr. Sharma in this low time of my life for their support and availability.

Day 61: When I was in hospital I slept most of the time, I came guest house around 16:00, tried to watch some movie, but eyes were shut most of the time, and I slept waking up every two hours or so, but going back to sleep till next day morning 11:00 I woke up for breakfast and slept again till 14:00, I guess anesthesia/pain-killers started fading off by time I reach at my place, I started feeling pain as much as during first surgery, but my legs I can move them which was not possible during first surgery

This is very splendid and bad ass with in 8 days you on your feet and your heel are completely on the floor. Brother if you don’t mind can you post your recent X-ray too. Your doctor’s team did very nice job. Hope you feeling good too.
-
That's amazing dude congrats!
I told you you would be out of frames before you knew it :)
Your ankles look amazing, took me many weeks after frame removal to get to that state so your way ahead of me!
You'll be back to a normal life in a couple months, even though it doesn't feel that way now you will.
-
Congratulations brother.

Thanks BlueHen, I got courage to do CLL after I read your dairy and met you in Gurgaon, hoping for good to be normal soon again, hope you are doing good

Day 76: Started walking with walker plus extra assistance Harry was holding one of my arm, first few steps were hard psychologically i kept looking down to see where am stepping than looking forward, couldn't lift and move walker for first few steps Harry had to assist that, later got hold of it and could slide forward the walker and made few steps wasn't completely an independent walk so couldn't record it.
It was an interesting feeling to start walking again after some 2.5 months.

Day 79: Knee pain fading away isn't as bad as it use to be, been doing all the exercises Harry(PT) taught, also in past I use to be in bed most of the time as it gets really cold in Delhi as low as 4°C and central heating isn't that common in India, I got electric heater in room but been lazy and use to work lying down on bed most of the time. I changed this from last couple of days, seems it also had some help.
I use to workout before LL so my thighs and calves were bit toned, with LL calves got too thin and thighs got loose as an old person, probably because lack of movement left knee had always been bit weak, especially in last days with frames I could see muscles on knee had atrophied quiet a lot.
I increased my diet from last week with more protein and calories, my knees don't look that skinny and bad as they were in last days with frame, they look normal as they use to before, calves have improved a bit and thighs going to take sometime I would think, I should have to hit gym for thighs to be back as they were.
-
Day 81: Last day of the year, hope I could go out and be independent but it has to do next new year I guess.
I started walking bit more distance like 80 to 100 meters, joints(knee and feet) are loosing up from past but they have to be bit more, little ballerina i had in right leg is gone hope to start crutches soon by next week.
-
Hi nomad.
Congratulations on your journey. I'm you will pass this phase successfully.
I'm itching to know why 5cm, why not 6 or 6.5cm since I believe tibias are safe till 6.5cm.
-
I am happy with just 5cm and not to make anymore obvious for my family and friends, also I wanted to be independent sooner with recovery, seems 5cm is best for that

Day 91: Ankle pain(from stretching has gone 90%) walking like 4 to 5 times a day from past 2 days, after walking for some 10 to 15 minutes today I could make some small steps unaided, even when walking on walker am not leaning on it much as I use to when I had ankle pain in right leg and pain in left knee, with no pain I could put more weight on legs and still be comfortable and not lean much on walker.

Day 98: In a way i am independent(with elbow crutches) in my mobility already, could go out to do my errands, can walk with one crutch but walking with two crutches when I am out so I don't mess up when i am outside, can go up and down the stairs with crutches
-
Day 102(21/01/2020): Trying to walk as much as I can, even around 2 to 3 hours a day, working out all exercises shown by Harry takes good part of time in the day, walking unaided is bit better but i can only do it in corridor not so confident to walk unaided outside. calves and quads are developing but still not all recovered so trying to increase protein intake with eggs, chicken, protein shake and peanut butter.
When I start walking with elbow crutches I can only walk slow for few steps till i get my legs warmed up and then it gets bit fluid.

Hey Nomad
Great progress, this is the time when you really start to notice fast progress, in 1-2 months you will be walking 100% normal unaided for miles. But this stage is super tiring on your legs because they're not used to walking anymore, it just takes a few weeks to strengthen them back up.
You're doing really well, slightly ahead of me I would say so I really think you will be back to a totally normal life in 1-2 months
Good luck!

Day 111: Joined a gym some 8 days back I feel my legs are bit stronger as i can walk for longer distance like more than 1hour still don't feel much fatigue, i be traveling with elbow crutches on 1st Feb will update my experience of that
Rest it all went well as it seem now, thankfull for that, had good experience with Dr. Harry and Dr. Sharma.
-
Hows your recovery now? How many inches did you gain, did you start to walk normally?
-
How are you now, your recovery update ?
-
I gained 5cm i am walking unaided but not completely normal with gait so i still use atleast one crutch when am outside
-
Hi nomad13
Hope you reached safely. You mind if I ask you how’s your ambulation, is it bothering you any way.
-
Day 113(01/02/2020): I had to travel for work took three flights with two layovers of 8hours was tiring used airport wheelchair assistance everywhere staying idle for long was bit tiring, all in all wasn't that hard to travel and nothing extraordinary to write
-
Hi nomad13
Hope you reached safely. You mind if I ask you how’s your ambulation, is it bothering you any way.
Hi Smaller,
My mobility is not bad, I walk with elbow crutches everywhere without any trouble, but when i get on feet after sitting or laying down for a while starting few steps seem bit hard rest working out in gym so i could gather up some muscle strength
-
Day119: legs are getting better day by day, but working is boring and to sit for long hours, thought i will update my experience working after LL am still using elbow crutches and i am quite good with them can walk unaided but it be hard to start walking unaided right from sitting or lying down.
Once i am walking i can walk for pretty long without any issue, last night went out with colleagues and was on feet for around 2 to 3 hours didn't feel any pain for that, going to gym has helped my calves and quads they are better, calves are back to 70 to 80% to what they were before surgery.

One thing i don't understand is that delusions of few Indians and their sense of entitlement they feel when they ask questions, so dude dail it down a notch, no one owes you anything rest i had answered this question so do read the thread
-
Man.... Don't generalise your thought on nationality. This is a form for discussion, people have doubt only then they ask questions.

Man.... Don't generalise your thought on nationality. This is a form for discussion, people have doubt only then they ask questions.
Few need to learn some proper English and irony, if you have question you ask it politely you don't ask if other person owes you or else that sounds like a nerd, about people having doubt this is a forum, someone writing a dairy for themselves to document or to share and this doesn't mean they owe you an answer for you to have crazy doubts, if they still answering it's their decency and politeness. So having a pinch of humility goes a long way.

Btw if you have read my comment i did mentioned few not everyone so you should tell me if it's generalization
-
Kindly accept my apologies.. PLEASE.... I am very sorry. Again sorry for bad english as i don't speak much english. You don't owe me nothing.

Kindly accept my apologies.. PLEASE.... I am very sorry. Again sorry for bad english as i don't speak much english. You don't owe me nothing.
You don't owe me an apology either what i meant and wrote was for other guy as said it's enough if we be polite and humble
-
To avoid misunderstanding i should better make bit clear, I hate generalizing and i know it's wrong, but if you asking a question to someone on public forum please do remember they don't owe you nothing so have bit of humility in that and phrase it better don't come out as if they obliged to answer you, saw this happening multiple times in this forum and this is the only thing I hate even in real life.
Rest my dairy was focused more on my journey if you could read it right than promoting any doctor, I really had good experience with Dr. Harry and Dr. Pradip Sharma but still I tried writing less of it but keep to my experience mostly around pain and discomfort because i felt that's important thing from rest for people to know about before venturing into it
-

Btw bro, your thoughts are good and all .... But one thing you don't understand is we are Indians so obviously our first language is not English...so you should try to get that into your head that you don't have to tell people to go and learn English....it's just a medium of communication and as long as u understand the question it's all okay....you are an NRI from Europe so we know you got good language skills but why are you not understanding one thing that we don't speak English regularly...."ITS NOT OUT FIRST LANGUAGE"....
also I read the other guy's comment and I don't find anything particularly objectionable... He even used the word "could you" , it's polite enough...
I think you don't like being called Indian....n I would like to know why is that? Cuz calling Indian is not at all racist as same as calling anyone "American" or "European" is not...so why are you running away from your identity? Bro be proud that you are an Indian!
I have gotten into fight regarding same issue last time, this time I don't want spoil your thread but I humbly request you to take the appoints into considerations....
Also keep up your good progress...and my best wishes with you☺️

I wrote this before but I’ll put it here too. Since I can’t read crap and make my own informed decisions without seeing this low life all on it.
Dude you’re a weirdo. You going on everyone’s diary writing this crap. Not everyone is going to want to post their pics / videos. Nor do they need to.
I literally made an account to lurk. And I plan on doing LL next year. I WILL NOT post any video /pics. I still plan on making a diary to keep myself sane as it seems like good for mental to write in a forum instead of lying down for 4 months with broken legs in isolation.
You’re annoying. Most of these doctors have high accreditations and done surgeries under US qualifications. I’m looking at going to these locations too. Just because America charges 100k means we are better. And no one needs to prove to me or anyone anything.
Unless you posting video/pics of your claims you’re just as fake as everyone here. Everyone can read and do their own hw as to whether they should
Do this or not.

Actually dumbass your name happens to be the last reply on almost all the latest threads hence why I replied to you, becuase I can’t get thru half these recent diaries without you b!tch!ing and moaning on everyone’s page like an attention whore.
The fact that I hyped no doctor yet you claim I’m Indian makes your retarded.
The fact that you think I’m some fake patient makes me feel better about these people diaries vs you. If they’re fake you’re definitely fake.
No one has this much time to post under every India and Turkish diary to state their experience is fake so you can feel better.
I actually live in the state by way of the caribbean asswipe. I know it’s hard to work on paranoia but there are drugs for that.
My only interest in these diaries is that they charge under 30k for operation with good results. So stfu and let people describe themselves or GO MAKE YOUR OWN LENGTHENING FORUM If everybody is fake to you , you internet warrior.
Idk what’s stupider, you claiming everyone is fake or is one person. Or you replying to all the “fake people” on here.

Day 129: In past I use to feel right leg bit as prosthetic, like I could feel its not united, now I feel both united, can walk unaided but still using elbow crutches when I go out just incase, walking right after sitting or laying down can be bit hard but can manage after like three or four steps.

I feel you are trying to support some other doctor so you left this comment, its completely ok, you can do as you like, but i just want to tell you one thing, when you talk to someone don't talk as if they owe you money, it will only make you look bad not the other person, so try sounding bit polite and bit of humility and decency, i am getting tired of having to tell this on this forum.
By the way, shoe-lift in one shoe makes sense for someone with unequal limb length, how would this ever make sense in LL to walk better, infact its going to be a disaster, so don't just say anything please do think before you write.

You came up with blah blah blah and run away from my question and this time asked post a video bare foot and you come and blah blah blah blah...
If you don't take other members questions nicely be ready for more harder questions or delete your diary

I said you I answered those questions, so read the thread because am getting tired of answering same thing again and again.
What do you mean harder questions I want to ask you a question you are on public forum, do you want to behave as if you lent me money(even though I doubt of your poor ass).
So if someone is on forum and they are sharing and answering it's their decency, so don't act like a nerd

I tried to be polite till now, you are no one to order me to post anything so for f*ck sake act yourself, just because you are stinking poor with your PT job don't come and cry here like a nerd, learn some f*cking decency.
For rest i answered other two questions you asked so read dairy, i am in no mood to write it again for some poor ass nerd like you

Hey stepfast, looks like you are the PT of dr Sarin, So my question is , why there is only one video of your Sarin patient circulating in forum ( tall personality) is he the only who was in the condition to take a video and advertise on the forum? why not none of your ex-patients had videos straight after removal of the frame? surely look like they were not in the condition due to various complications, what are you guys hiding? now you want to question and be jealous of Harry's work and Pradeep sharma's sophisticated ilizarov frame? so genuineindianguy was right.

that guy probably goes through a deep depression, leave the poor kid alone.
Yea it was just annoying . I’m trying to gather notes and see who’s lying/faking their outcomes and this guy was literally everywhere lol. But like I said. Not trying to hi jack no ones post. So I’m good

Day 129: In past I use to feel right leg bit as prosthetic, like I could feel its not united, now I feel both united, can walk unaided but still using elbow crutches when I go out just incase, walking right after sitting or laying down can be bit hard but can manage after like three or four steps.

Day 130 means you’re about 4months in. Do you take any supplements or do any consistent Walking/pt . I’ve read walking a lot is what’s going to build callus faster and an extremely large protein diet. ( that’s actually supported in all doctor notes/cases).
So at 4months would you say you’re able to go back to work? I’m able to take a 6mths Haitus from my job next year but would definitely prefer to make money sooner than later lol

Philly guy spoke big and ran, asking guy from Birmingham to come meet in Philly, but doesn't give his number coz he not from Philadelphia :D
-
Day 131: Someone asked to upload barefoot walking video, so here it goes, and some update of my condition, I can walk for some good distance(200 meters or more without aids) without feeling pain, but my gait is still not perfect I am working on glutes.
About diet, from last one month, am having high protein diet to the least 500gm of meat(mostly chicken) everyday(two meals), whey protein two scoops a day, calcium, d3 and magnesium tablets, some fruits, and oats with yogurt plus almonds and cashews for breakfast, am training in both gym and PT.

I did answered part of your question in last comment, when it comes to work, in a way I have been working remote on and off, in my case I would say I was able to go back to work after 3 or 3.5 months(with elbow crutches) they don't look as bad as armpit crutches or walker or wheelchair, so you can get by. I even had to travel last two weeks for work with long flights and it worked out.

Where are mods at they don’t ban stuff like this?

Holy smokes That diet is intense! 500g+ of protein , your callus must be consolidating super nice! That’s a big diet lol. i have protein powders and gelatins in my amazon cart , Just been working on getting my doctor to give me the note so I can start getting the med visa lol.
And i don’t really know much about gaits but is that close to how you normally walk?
* my job is a sales type job where I’m on my feet for 9-12hr days. So I’m hoping after 4mth I can recoup some of the money. Can’t use crutches since it’s in fashion unfortunately. Looking injured would just get me “sent home til I recover”. So hopefully I can do it unaided by 4th mth mark

Thanks, i do workout so kinda trying to go with diet for bulking, from third month i could stand for like 1 hour without any issue, two weeks back i went out with colleagues to some club I was on feet for around 3 - 4 hours didn't feel much of pain but felt tired, I guess callus growth depends on person to person in the case of BlueHen it was bit better than mine and he is already back being normal.
But yeah its better if you could find some 5 to 6 months of off time so you don't have to rush yourself, especially if your job is on feet for long hours, can understand money is one big b*tch its not just what you pay for surgery all the time you sitting idle without working counts in as an expense.
Gait is your body posture when you walk I guess(I dunno much science lingo either) and its not how I use to walk(pre-surgery) trying to work on my glutes so it could go normal, and good luck with your med visa and everything

My bad man I thought i replied to you. Thanks for all the info. How do you like this doctor? ( I’m still leaning with parihar since he has legit paley training and does a lot of conservative repairs and lengthening) but sharma seems like a second nice option.
But what did you think about them being under their care for all that time.
But darn I was definitely hoping I could’ve done it in 4. Now I guess I have to work more now to cover the 2months I can’t work ( my apartment doesn’t allow Airbnb so I can’t make money off it while I’m away it seems sadly ).
So a maximum of 3-4months is what I can do. ( I only plan on doing 5-5.5cm under 6 for sure so I’ll be in that 3-4month timeframe of away) .
Thanks man the med visa is a little annoying becuase most doctors in the states keep asking me why do I want to leave the states to do surgery and making it annoying difficult to not tell them my personal life lol.

My experience been positive so far with Dr. Sharma.
For 6cm you be in lengthening for 60 to 75 days(it's better to slow down from 1mm per day to 0.75mm or 0.50mm in last days, plus you'd wait till two weeks from surgery before you start lengthening, considering 84 days to the least, you need another two months as in most cases to be on elbow crutches or to have any decent mobility.

bro you misread I said I’m staying UNDER 6cm lol. max is 5.4- 5.5cm if that. Though I’m surprised. Why is it 2weeks post surgery?! I’ve always seen it was 5 days to 1 week after surgery. Why is your experience 2 weeks?

I should have read in hurry, sorry for that been bit busy these days to write on this forum, same with 2 weeks I wrote bit in rush coz i didn't remember then when i had started lengthening, I had to refer my own dairy to see when I had started lengthening that was day 10(9 days after surgery)

Ohhh ok cool no worries . Day 9 not bad. But all in all , you’re 2 Inches taller, 4 months later, and you feel like you made a good choice with sharma. So that’s whatsup. I’m waiting on a few others to see if im going to add him to the list too. Parihar hasn’t gotten back to me and no one who used him replied to any PMs so we’ll see
Congrats on things working out and not going crazy with the lengthening. Sounds like
You’ll recover pretty fast

I want to ask that
1. How you manage the pain in the process
2. Did doc cut your pateller tendon?
3. Why some llers get bone non union like tall mf?

Hi Brother
How are you ? Heard you start driving and all the way drove to Mumbai from Gurgaon by yourself. Great news.
I hope and wish you to stay healthy.
Would like to get an update on your current status if possible stop travelling at least for some time.

Hi nomad..congratulations on your achievement..and I wanna ask you something..can I do femoral lengthening of 6.5cm using LON+monorail fixator....and what will be the total duration for this procedure starting from surgery day to full bone healed just like prior to surgery.

3. Why some llers get bone non union like tall mf?
1. Starting days I had to take pain killer every other day, or every day if you read my dairy, it been like this for some 10 days or 15 and pain went down to manageable level
2. Yes, they split your tendon to insert the nail,
3. I am no expert in ortho sciences neither am a doctor, I would say you better ask this to some CREDIBLE professional, but to what i know there could be various factors one of them is osteotomy

It was good drive like some 1500km, had knee pain(in left) half the distance and it got bit okish after a while, but I request not to write name of cities that clear, none of my friends or family know about this procedure, but thanks for concern am doing good, hope you doing good too with ur LL journey :)

These are the question for some CREDIBLE doctor not me, but to what I know initially femour could be more painful than tibia, but it heals quick. and you can also lengthen it quicker, you can lengthen even around 1.2 to 1.5mm per day to what I heard, for 6.5cm i guess some 3 months should be more than enough after the lengthening again, i am not a doctor so do your research
-
My current status, my knee pain in left leg is has gone off almost 70% but i still feel some 20 to 30%, this lockdown due to covid has killed much of my plans but i guess its for everyone's safety and good health. apart from knee pain, my left leg feel more complete, right it still got some time to go it seems, my gait has developed to some 30% from my last update
-
2. Yes, they split your tendon to insert the nail,
They reconstruct it when the nail is inserted?
Does it have to been split again when the nail is removed?
Thank you for sharing your experience.

How ya doing bro?
I am doing good, to what its worth in this covid lockdowns, my gait has improved i would say its still bit noticeable i guess in a month it should go away as well, i could walk for long at times while shifting flats i even managed to shift my stuff around, if i do work for long in such a way or walk for long I feel bit fatigue but at the end which i guess should be normal and expected till bone heals in full, when I have fatigue i feel bit hard to walk from sleeping or sitting, first few steps would feel bit heavy and painful and it goes away.
My walking i would say is almost 80 normal, and trying for that remaining part, reason i can't say 100% my gait is still not normal, at times i do walk completely normal at times my hip region swings side ways as i walk.
Climbing stairs without any aids is completely ok, but coming down stairs i need some rails or wall support or i have to walk down side ways one step at a time.
I will be going for xray tomorrow, i will try to upload it tomorrow or max day after.
Hope everyone is doing good and safe.

Hi brother
What's doctor point of view on these x rays
-
Sorry guys, been bit busy lately and also lazy i guess, about my recovery i would say one day is better then other, i can walk normal almost 90% to 95%, feels little uneasiness or pain in right leg(only at times not always) when i start walking from sitting or lying down, but can walk normally apart from that, i could walk for some 45 minutes to 1 hour before i feel fatigue but in general it all good for walk
-
Hi brother
What's doctor point of view on these x rays
my right leg did had slower recovery in comparison with left but it seem to be on track as of now, it has united, like some couple of months back i could feel my left leg almost like normal but right always felt bit uneasy, which is going down now
-
I can walk even faster i feel can run in slower speed but haven't tried much because i want to take it slow.
Want to share one of strange experience i had in Dr. Mangal Parihar Hospital(Mangal Anand Hospital), I took an appointment a week before seems they are operating with limited slots per day because of covid 19, I went to the hospital(on 17/06/2020) met a doctor there he asked when and where i had my surgery, about my frame etc which all felt valid questions to ask, but he seem to be too interested in knowing what i do as in work, and where am from, I felt that were bit off topic questions, and felt may be he wants to decide price of treatment depending on my work and where am from, i dunno, or may be he wanted to make me feel comfortable. Reason i went was to have some opinion of Dr. Parihar on my recovery, at the end doctor i met asked me to take some x-rays which i did and i finally met, Dr. Parihar he seem very simple and nice kind of person, didn't ask any odd questions like other doctor before. As per him yes, my right leg recovery is bit slower but it has united so he asked to follow some good workout regime and diet and see how it goes.

how old
are you?

don't you trust your doctor? kid?

don't you trust your doctor? kid?
It's not about trusting it's about having opinions from different sources, you should never go blindly and trust just one but if it suits you then good luck.
I dunno if you are into academics, but even research papers are peer-reviewed not because people don't trust the original researcher rather they are just getting it verified themselves.
-
May I ask how old you are. Your recovery was pretty slowly in my opinion
-

I am 29, but I ask you not to ask some senseless questions next time if you are from Dr. Sarin I have no interest in fighting or getting in your mess so please keep it healthy and sane

Hi brother
I have something to tell you that might help ,it just my opinion don't get me wrong
As you mentioned you are more focused on meat based diet for recovery but unlike popular belief meat based diet is very bad for bone recovery , general bone health and overall health I remember listening whole lecture about how non veg diet is Highly acidic in nature and body tries to neutralized it thus suk mineral from bone. The video is somewhere on unicorns diary
Wishing you fast recovery

feet?
What is your pain level?
How long you expected to be completely normal?

You look kind of skinny bro. You definitely need to eat more, protein, take vitamins d and calcium, drink milk and carefully weight bear. Your bone needs to heal more, focus every day to large diet and standing. Standing and weight bearing carefully is the #1 most important factor to build callus. Your walk looks good so far, keep training and it will look normal in a few months. Good luck man

Can walk normally no issues in there, but still you do feel some pain after a while and you can only just walk like a kid not run or anything
When it comes to sensory loss, at gap region on right leg in some region i dont think i have great sensation, but this region was bit bigger and it seem to be reducing as it heals, apart from that no other sensation loss or changes
I think recovery be slow at starting stages till it unites, after that it bit quicker than before still I expect another 6 months for me to heal in acceptable terms without feeling pains after some long walk

Hello Nomad,
I'm also thinking of 5cm lengthening on tibia by LON even maybe 5,5 or max 6. I want to ask you if you lose any cms after removing the fixators. I mean you lengthened your tibia 5 cm by LON device but did you get exact 5 cm taller or a bit less than 5cm?
I ask that because i recently read that it might be normal to lose 10-15% of the gain after removing the fixators.
thanks in advance

I was also wondering the same thing. I asked a couple of doctors on their opinion and they said that the only reason someone would appear to “lose” height after removal is because they dis not measure their height correctly in the beginning, or they took say their morning height and then compared it with their evening height.

I asked my doctor about this. You wont lose a single millimeter. So if youve for example lenghtened 5cm you wiill get the full 5cm.

Thats good to hear, in that case I reckon its the people inaccuracy regarding the measurements, they are probably measuring morning height and then comparing it with evening height, something like that.
-
Thanks for the answer. So it's because of incorrect measurements either before the surgery or after lengthening

Hi Nomad
Brother your walk looks good. Happy to see this.
All the best for further recovery.
-
I can walk even faster i feel can run in slower speed but haven't tried much because i want to take it slow.
This could have been one of their fellowship students. I had a similar experience when I was there before the covid crisis. I was definitely uncomfortable though. At one point there were 3-4 people in the room asking me questions. I just took it positively that it's better if the staff is interested in me instead of neglecting me. :) After that with Dr. Parihar the consultation was very reassuring.

Same here, i took it casually, but i should atleast Dr. Parihar didnt ask any stupid questions
-
one thing I was a bit concerned about was that he didn't physically examine my legs for flexibility, strength or anything. He just looked at x-rays and made me stand once to see from a distance.
Did he do any physical examination for you?
Anyway I think you will be resuming your consultations in Gurgaon so this may not be relevant to you now.

The first doctor i met in Dr. Parihar clinic did check flexibility a bit, but Dr, Parihar he just checked my x-ray and commented over it, i dont remember if even asked me to stand

I honestly suggest do your own research and see who is more practical for you and go with him, and don't go just for popularity, also try understanding and research limb lengthening surgery in all its progressive stages and think it through, and select one which best suit you and dont just think in terms of budget, because its your legs at stake

I am not in gurgaon right now, i am living in some other city, but I do go at times if its required, but Harry been really helpful during all this time, bit more than Dr. Sharma, he replies on time and takes it serious, just my experience and opinion not just in LL but also in other stuff when i was moving between cities in India.

I am not a doctor and I honestly don't think 2 surgeries is a good option to go, you won't be normal with your legs for around 1.5 years or even 2, and you might probably disproportionate, you can get away just with one surgery of 5cm anything longer in aesthetic might start to look disproportionate. And don't make decisions of your life based on some random person on internet

Distal screws are bigger compare to bone width,

an update about walking somedays I have no pains like I would say completely/almost normal except for walking upstairs when I workout on the treadmill I can only go till max 3.7 or somewhere around there if I try more I feel the stress on legs the next day, before surgery I use to run on treadmill least on 10 and as high as 16 to 20 for short bursts, I guess it's going to be long before I can do that
-
How's your healing now will you share your latest x ray ? How does your leg feel overall?

Almost a year , not a good result
-
Hi nomad13,
Are you making progress with your bones healing? Also what is that fracture part in the bottom part of the fibula? Hope you make it back to normal soon.
-brondo
-
What's your thought on this x ray? And what doctor said?
-
Yes the concern is right but the gud part is fibula is non weight bearing bone or only 15-20% it takes load while walking. Hope your ankle is good. Tibia looks consolidated from the back. It means the callus is Growing. Are you able to give 100 percent weight on your ankle. Can you post a waking Video just curious to see how much difference is there since your last video .
-
It is indeed a slow consolidation and modeling is unorthodox but as long as you don't injure yourself or break nail it will eventually consolidate in a at most another year as I can def see progress from August pic to September picture so it will grow and remodel better. This is subpar of expectations, but it's still a good outcome given you didn't get major issues. Weight bear safely, but weight bear alot cuz that's what builds bone. I think this is fine result
-
Bro please update
Questions
1.Do you feel any problem in soft tissue?
2.How does your muscles feels right now, stretched? Any pain? Feel any pressure?
Or any thing you want to specify.
Thank you

Do you know how many surgeries Dr Pradip Sharma had done? Also can you walk normally?

Hi, nomad13 , what is your status now? How is your waking ? Can you post walking video?
Hey, my walking is improved quiet, i can walk normally and can speed walk, spoke with harry he said i can also start jogging in moderate speed, but i am not really confident of it so didn't tried it yet, will try uploading video end of this week or next
-
Hi, nomad13 congratulations and all the best. I have a question if you can answer, i would really appreciate. As you know there is lot of chaos about harry, You are one of active member of Dr Pradip Sharma. Can you please review your rehab with him?
How was your experience with Dr Shama and Harry?
-
Please update your progress bro
Latest Xrays?
Do you have any pain now?
-
Hi noma13, we haven't heard from longtime . What is your status?
-
165 is average in India, even Amir Khan is 5'5"....so atleast you have come in the average group , and probably height is relative ...cuz there r some ppl on this forum who 5'10 and 6" by still they want to do the surgery....
I meant to ask that do you feel taller than before....if yes then that's all that matters...
In delhi, punjab, haryana, rajasthan. it is very short. The average height in cities is at least 5'9.
-
How is your non-union? did your favourite dr Harry( lol a physio) still manipulating you?
-
harry is doctor no?
-
Harry is wiring all these dairies bro. All these are fake. No one goes on an internet forum and talks about physios. Not a single one of Paley's or any other doctor's diary mentions any physio except harry's diaries lol. Seems like the dude is some kind of narcissist. The moderators should block all diaries coming from here.
-
Reborn. BMW . Joker . beforeandafter these all are fake too These just here to comment on Pradeep Sharma diary.
-
I'm not faking here but I started to think that this dairy is
-
I took Xray on 25/01/2021, didn't had much time to update here
https://imgur.com/izht1cX
https://imgur.com/NTSl3l1
-
I can walk completely normal now and can also run and jog at a moderate pace let's say some 5 to 6 km/h I still have some uneasiness climbing down stairs
I feel from now I will update this dairy whenever I feel have any update or if have anything to share
important thing don't take this dairy or any as a personal recommendation for any doctor, here I just share my experience as everyone else here and you should select your doctor with your own research, try searching as much as you can before you go to any doctor read if they are active in academic circles or if they have any papers published etc
-
- also if someone is thinking to go through LL or in LL currently don't rush yourself with the lengthening phase it might be tempting to lengthen a bit more so you can get off those hell forsaken frames from your body but this will only delay your recovery as a whole so be patient in that
- maintain an excel sheet (i tried google sheets on google drive) on lengthening like how much you lengthened on a specific date and if you can also time, keep a record for both legs not just club them as one
- also document the length you got in Xray in different columns in the above excel sheet so you can cross-reference to how much you turned and what you actually achieved
- maintain a diary of all important events in some excel sheet
- keep your x-rays archived as per date so you can compare them, don't just throw them all in one folder, make one folder for each visit of xray you had, I maintain my xray files in folders in google drive
-
In delhi, punjab, haryana, rajasthan. it is very short. The average height in cities is at least 5'9.
The average height in Punjab is 5'10. The average height of India is skewed because India is very diverse and has many different ethnic groups, so groups with larger populations dictate the average height, and groups with smaller populations are not well represented in such results.
-
Youre recovery seems
pretty slow for being 1,5 years post Op am I right?
-
How is everything? The bone healing seems extremely slow, do you smoke by any chance?
-
nomad13, you said u still have trouble going downstairs after almost 2 years and your bone healing is extremely slow. Did ur ask ur surgeon about that?
-
Hey man...how are you! Any updates?
I hope you are doing great!
