Thank for sharing.
It is very sad to know that some doctors are taking advantage non-english speaking Patients.
These Patients have difficulty to understand what contract they signed, the full cost surgery cost and etc.

You mentioned you did the consultation and felt a lot of cost was not clear or transparent to you.
Why did you still go ahead with this surgery in Korea?

There are good and experienced LL Surgeons if you do your proper research and reading.
Always go to the doctors with good track records.

Hello Shi, I hope you are well at the moment, and that you have not had any health complications.
Money doesn't matter , As long as you are well

Are you already in consolidation atleast so you can focus on recovery? I hope it goes well for you.

Also curious, are there no lengthening doctors in Japan? I thought Japan had Hiroyuki, or did he just do studies for them but never really offered any medical surgeries?

This is one of the three major clinics that perform CLL in Korea.
Not just foreigners but a lot of Koreans also go to that clinic to get CLL done every year. Wow this is a surprise.
Hope that more people who wants to do the surgery there see this.
Anyways, I am very sorry to hear your situation and I didn't expect things like this are happening in that clinic.
Do you still have the rods inside the femurs? If so, I know it sucks but I recommend just staying in that clinic
until the rods are pulled out. This is because doctors, in general, do not like to operate on works done by other doctors.
Try to work something out and be calm and polite until the rods are taken out.
After that, you can think about how to get back at them.
Makes it less likely then I'd consider going to any other doctors in SK other than Donhoon Lee. Not being able to speak Korean is already hard thing to deal with, not being able to even communicate for help in a country full of strangers is just not worth the risk if I ever would do it in Korea.

Ideal goal: (178cm~180cm) 5'10~5'11 with two separate bilateral(femur+tibia) lengthening / (183cm) 6' at max safe goal
Normal goal: (176cm) 5'9 with femur lengthening
Minimum goal: (173.5cm) 5'8 with femur/tibia lengthening

Plan in 2025~2026 when Precice Max comes and has some good outcomes.

Where are you located? If you are located in the US, just do the surgery in the US.
If you are located in Japan or China, then maybe Korea is an option.

FYI Donghoon Lee (DHL) is a superb doctor. He was initally my first choice, I even had a consultation with him.
However, the problem with DHL's clinic is that the clinic no longer offers package that includes long-term hospital stays
and rents near his clinic are outrageously high. Prepare to pay a lot of money if you are going to do the surgery with DHL
because rents are very high and as @shi mentioned Korean CLL clinics are not very transparent about the cost.

Also, for a foreigner who doesn't speak a word of Korean and doesn't have a permanent resident card,
its going to be tough to get through the recovery phase in Korea.

Recently they start to do discount promotion.
I guess they up to make up  for  decrease international patients due to my experience.
I know other patients who do same clinic also claim them about expesive PT.

I claimed them about shortening leghtening amount and pin-site fracuter,
but they only told me if you have claim for us, you ask lawer.
They know foregien patients can not do legal action,so
this is why they want to take intertnational patients.

Are you fully recovered, walking with new height?
Are you happy and confident with new status?
if yes, i think you should move on, not looking back.
Having said so, it is good to share and let the future naive potential patients know.

I had had  frameroval about 6months ago.
I dont have infection now.
But during I had been have extenal frame, due to barbaric PT
my pin-site is always bleeding, so they expose me to risk
of infection.
