anyone knows?
4 cm is probably very safe for internal femurs right?
what's the highest u can go, preserving athletic abilities?

5-6 you aren't going to have any from your 6cm tibia though lmfao.

Dr. Paley and Dr. G put the number at around 8 cm.

but if u lengthened ur tibia previously ,the number is smaller?

Paley says that the maximum in terms of safety is 6.5 cm on the tibias and 8 cm on the femurs, so no.

I think anything under 7CM could generally be regarded as pretty "safe". Would agree with Redrothbrand that 8CM is probably a good maximum guideline, if you want to be really certain stay below 6CM but obviously less is healthier overall.

thanks.
would you think that 6cm+ tibia and 5 cm femur is better than 8 cm tibia? cos' dr bagirov thinks that 8 cm tibia is better, and don't do femurs (though he can do 4 cm for me)...
the logic probably is that the entire stretch of leg muscles and tendons are lengthened too much if you lengthen BOTH tibia and femur.

I am no doctor so you should refer to his professional knowledge before my advice. What I am, however, is a man who is very cautious about my long term health and from the information I've gathered one thing seems to be pretty clear: less is safer.
I would personally not do more than 8CM in one segment just because it would more or less ruin my biomechanics if nothing else. Here is what I think you should do: lengthen to 7 or 6CM in your tibias like you're already doing and do your best to recover. One year later if you've recovered well and have some perspective on what doing the surgery really means you can decide if you want to do an extra 3-5CM in your femurs.

No, no. I don't know why this doctor says this. It's always better 6 + 5 (femur + tibia), rather than 8 (tibia). Maybe he hasn't experience with femurs
