So to counter the people who worry about being out of commission because of their surgeries. Let us not forget that humans on average spend years on the internet on forums or just watching tv which can be done before, while, and after surgery. Your quality of life won't change unless you are an older adult who has a fulfilled life.

Yeah I used to think that it was a year of your life but as long as you don't spend it laying in bed constantly being miserable then it's not. I read rgkeys diary. It seemed like he had a fairly normal life while spending almost an entire year in frames.
Also it's easy to quantify the cost of surgery and lost wages. But it's difficult to put a number on the benefits of this surgery. I think the time and money is worth it. Unless you have a horrible experience of course.

people, they have a certain way in which they perform "their life", and it absolutly gutts them to stop that for a short period of time for surgery. all the hopeless people trying to see how they can do this surgery in 2 -3 months. they are adicted to the certain way in which they perform their life.
this surgery halts their life
and they cant handle it
the addiction kicks in
and they have to return.
people don't seem to understand that they are addicted to their lifestyle. they need an intervention, they need to wake the fk up, and realize.... hey mate wake the fk up. stop running. walk dude.
its this fast pace lifestyle where people freak the f#ck out unless they are constantly doing something like studying or working or saving and slaving away to the economy. they are addicts who cant handle living life without this addictive socially engineered lifestyle that has been superimposed into them as a belief system.

Spending your time in frames is a different story than internal rods unless they make frames small enough to fit in your pants but the photos of old frames I've seen are huge nerdy frames.

It depends. If you do two legs at the same time is OK. If you do left femur and tibia and right femur and tibia is OK. But what doctor Mongeal from Spain says is a complete waste of time, you gain only 6 cm in one year, and it's not worth the effort.

Read RGKEY's diary. He posted many pics with frames on. He was able to hide them under loose fitting pants. I have seen other pics of smaller frames but I can't remember from which diaries.

you can not hide any frames in person... trust me on this
i had smaller frames than rgkey, and they still stuck out out
you can not hide having frames on... you also will not care about how the frames look when you have them on... trust me, that will be the least of your concerns

Yeah I know you can't totally hide the frames. But could you hide them well enough so most people wouldn't notice? Was your walking ok with them on?
-
i did not walk with them on
everything was bad until they came off tbh
i could not lift my leg, etc... not sure why the frames did it it to me, but when they came off, i started to get function back
i think a large part has to do with the fact these frames were very tight... i had really large legs and calves
wearing frames is rough... i could not really sleep well until they came off
-
It's beyond me why people still use ilizarov style fixators to lengthen. It's hell on earth. Save more money and use a different technique and no way can you hide the fixators. I had special clown like trousers made to hide them and I looked like a moron

you don't have to hide them fixators. just say u got into an accident.. i go around walking wif my fixators...and nobody thought much, even my boss. she did not notice but i suspect she might know once I reach 180..

What was the problem? Falling asleep? Waking up frequently? Not enough hours per day? Nightmares?

Primarily to avoid the knee pain issues that come with internal tibia.
-
ant didnt mean internal... ilizarov isnt the only external method
ilizarov and external have basically been conflated, but they are not the same.... tsf is an external method but it is not ilizarov

it's just uncomfortable... falling asleep is hard... also waking up.... you have nails tearing your skin, etc

I have internal(s), and my problem is that I wake up frequently during the night. As a consequence I don't have enough sleep hours per day. Before LL I was a really, really good sleeper. :(
Right now I am a bad sleeper so I wonder what surgery will do to me, maybe I will not sleep at all then I die,who knows.
