Title: Do the Doctors use x-rays to measure that both legs are equal in length?
Post by: just_me on February 05, 2015, 05:11:29 PM
Before, during and after leg lengthening or leg deformity surgery how does the Doctors measure that the two legs are equal in length - Do they use x-rays to do that?

Yes they do.  They'll take a full standing x-ray of you after you're done lengthening to make sure the legs are even, before they take off the frames.

How much you've turned is notoriously inaccurate.

X ray which they pull up on computers and analyze. Eyeballing it would be pretty crude.

I have found a webpage where they have used computer (Traumacad) to analyze leg lengths, deformities and more. Click on the link below to go to the page - And when you come to the page click on the picture below the text "TraumaCad".
