Title: South Korea and Hospital Care
Post by: rossgeller on August 18, 2015, 10:30:31 PM
Hello fellow members, I am thinking about having a limb lengthening surgery in South Korea. I was also considering India but I have no acquaintances in India. I read somewhere that it takes 5-6 months of recovery if you grow up by 2-3 inches. So my first question is that do you have to be close to the institution or hospital that operated on you? If so, I guess I can't go to India. My second question is that is South Korea any good? I am not rich so I don't have many choices but I am just trying to balance my money and health haha

Don't go by country. Go like this:

-Money: Your budget is cheap. Limits you to options like India, Korea, etc.
-Proportions and time: Should you do tibias or femurs, and what method?
-Find good doctors that will do those methods from India, Korea etc.

Don't start by the country. My advice, take it or leave it. :)

What if I go to India? I am afraid that I have to stay there long and alone? Or can I undergo the physical therapy, recovery etc. at another country??

If your budget is low, tibias are a better option for externals. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong here) Internal devices will mostly cost more and they are better suited for femurs. I'm from Mumbai, India- planning on doing LL with the Precice nail and that costs $30K for two nails alone, plus the cost of surgery.

A user named KiloKAHN here did tibial LL in Mumbai(India) at Dr. Mangal Parihar. It cost him around $15K. I have yet to meet with Parihar but a very well reputed orthopaedic surgeon I went to said Dr. Parihar was by far the best he knew for LL. I don't know about other Indian doctors because I've only researched deeply into Parihar, but you can read about other Indian/other country's doctors here:

You can send Kilo a PM.

korea is not an option if your budget is less than 60000 (us) minimum .. India , Egypt , Italy , Russia and Serbia can be options
