Hey guys,
I know I post a lot recently with questions, but I'm really looking seriously into operation next year. I really appreciate all your advice and especially the experience of the vets on here. This forum is fantastic place for me at moment.
So I'm waiting to gain 2.5cm of height, I was thinking tibias but after reading about the knee pain, internal has put me off. Exrernal would be better but I have limited time. Need all be distracted and consolidated in 3 months max. Due to work! I've read 6 month with external on for an inch?
So femurs? I've read internal op doesn't cause knee pain later??
Also is externally quicker on femurs than tibias??
Basically under my situation, what would you recommend?
Thanks guys, all your advice is appreciated!

You can't set such short deadlines for LL.
-
2.5cm more arent going to change anything in your life. But the problems that this surgery could cause to your body can . If you are going to do this you need to think in pros and cons. All are cons for what you want. Do it for at least 5/6 cm or just dont do it.
-
Do both for 1.25cm each. That might actually be doable in 3 months.
-
You are not going to be done in three months. Also, if you are just going for one inch I would say don't do it. You are going to go through a lot and spend a lot, I don't think one inch justifies it.

People keep saying the same things! I don't want 5cm, for a number of reasons!! Proportions, recovery time, 100% athletic ability back. Most importantly, unlike everyone else.... I don't want to be tall!! 5cm is huge and just really doesn't unrest me! 1 inch might sound pathetic to you guys, but I really just want an inch in height. I wear lift take me up to 5,8 now, and j feel great at just that inch I understand I'm risking a lot of money, time and possible harm my body. That's exactly why I'm here ask you guys for advice, so I can make discision.
But realise that this 2.5cms is as important to me as your 5-8cms.
I just really want advice rather than telling me get more cm's.
Please guys any advice would be excellent. As I have already learnt so much off you guys and this forum.

I think there's nothing wrong with wanting just 2.5 cms and also don't get why folks are giving you a hard time. You clearly know what you want and I would support going for it rather than not bothering with LL as others said. Others are huge sticklers for staying within safe limits of 6-7 cm and not lengthening too much to keep proportions, biomechanics, etc. and your goal is very safely within! Hard to determine where we draw the line with these things... IMHO wanting 2.3 cms is much more sane than those who want 10+ cms...
If cost is not an issue, internal femur is your best bet. Femurs heal faster than tibias and external femurs is generally not recommended. If you do it with a reputable doctor I think returning to work within your time frame of 3 months should be no problem, though you should be prepared for the possibility of complications that might make recovery longer. Not sure on tibias but I think it will be tough in that timeframe.

What is your budget?
-
Thanks goldenegg, thank god someone understands me.
-
I have about £7k to max 8k and 3-4 months max
I firstly wanted do external tibias to avoid knee pain by nail. But I heard even at 2.5cm it can take months to consolidate.
Internal femurs? Avoids knee pain and speeds up process?
Or do 1.5cm on both tibia and femurs? Externally? But maybe recovery of both break in legs will be a struggle?
I work in Africa mines n sometimes oil rigs so gotta be tip top within 6 months from op? Am I being unrealistic?
Thanks again guys

Its imposible to do internal femurs with that budget .

You really need to read more here...
Only 7-8k pounds and only 3-4 months. And you want to work in a mine after only 6 months. It does not work like that man!
With your budget you can not do femurs AND tibias. You can not do internal femurs and not internal tibias. You can only do external tibias. You could go to Dr. Mitkovic and do tibias externally. But even with him you should have a little more money.
Maybe Dr. Solomin in Russia could also work.
You can not do heavy work after 6 months. It is your health you are playing with. Take your time to read in here. It is a big decision. You should not rush.

Yeah I know, I'm learning my options. I'm pretty new to this, I'm not even sure about LL yet. I understand I'd need more money for internals.
Just ideas down the line.
For now I have about 8k
But I'm only doing 2.5cm?? Recovery I'm hoping will be faster?
Consolidation time on external is so long!
So for femur internal what is minimum price? (Mu know that's a loose question) Why are femurs quicker, quicker consolation time?
Thanks for info tho

Dr. Sarin charges $25,000 for internals and that doesn't include accommodation. He's the cheapest.
-
Maybe LATN then?
-
LON or LATN is your only hope to get what you want.
