Love this guy. Thought it was relevant to the guys on here who cry about their life being below par because of their height, especially when it involves women.
-
This applies mostly to tall guys who think they're held back because of their height. You can't say a 5'2 or 5'3 guy isn't justified in wanting this...then again, there's probably a midget who would kill to be 5'2...

Most of the shorter men on this forum are the ones that pathologically think that they're held back by their height.. The taller guys just want to be taller for the heck of it. Most of the time they don't perceive their height as a hindrance in any way, they just like the idea of being taller.
The men with below average height are justified in wanting the surgery, it's just (some of them) their attitude towards blaming everything on their height that stinks.

I agree with you man. Sometimes I feel kinda bad about wanting another LL at 5'8". But then I see guys who start at 5'8" or higher, and still want LL, and then I don't feel as bad.
I think LL is a virtual necessity if you are a guy under 5'5" or so. You will benefit greatly from this surgery.

I think best bang for the buck are the 5'3 - 5'5 guys. They can reach 5'6 - 5'8" after LL, so transformative you ooze confidence from every pore of your body walking down the street.
This is where you break the cusp of being tragic short to just short, and can make up for it with other redeeming qualities like having a nice ass or great sense of humor.

Yup. I went from a bit over 5'5" to a bit over 5'8", and it is a big difference. I've noticed the biggest improvement with girls (most women have a hard cutoff of 5'7"-5'8" at lowest, though most want 5'10" and up still). I did pretty well with girls before, but my height definitely held me back at times.
Now the main problem is within me. I just want to be taller, just in the 5'9-5'10 (average) range.

below 5.9 is sucks it is it

Great generalization, I'm sure you have plenty of things going for you in life.

You... what? 15cm? This is not 2006 anymore, the days of the 20cm Betz patients are over.
And what about your tibias, your achilles bro.. they're gonna hurt for a long time.

Couldn't have said it better

Exactly. I just want to become taller because I believe that is something I lack. I dont have. And I can never get with hard work. Which pisses me off.

Yes. This is part of it too. Granted, at 166, few would argue that I needed this surgery. Now at 173, maybe it's slightly questionable, but I still feel short. And I'm the kind of guy (maybe because I was and am short) to give my all into everything I do. So it sucks that I'm stuck with being short and can't work hard (without LL) to fix it. If there was an exercise routine (no matter how difficult and time consuming) that could make me 6'2", I'd be 6'4".

What do you figure will be worse, the proportions or the complications? Cause there's no way you can get away cleanly with 6 inches.

True, although there are definitely tall guys on this forum that think their height is a hindrance. I don't think LL will help their mentality either. And I don't know why a tall guy, despite not finding his height to be a hindrance, would do this unless he were an aspiring model or just a really rich psychopath with a lot of free time.

Thanks! I too think going 5'2.5 or something to 5'5 or 5'5.5 where the average male height is 5'7, and the average female height is 5'4 or so is a massive gain. It's like going 5'5 to 5'8 in the States.
I think you should do what your body can handle. Since it looks like your actual final goal(though you won't go for it) is 6'4 or just "really tall!", you won't stop this until some complication forces you to. If you're doing 2 more inches, just triple check if it's worth it and tell yourself you'll stop there. Just my 2¢.

I think this is exactly what Guichet screens his patients for during his consultations. You have to prove to him that you have extraordinary work ethic first before you get operated.

Dude, I think you misunderstood what I wrote (ouroboros seemed to get it), or you're just being sarcastic lol. Of course I'm not going past 5'10" - I'd look like a freak and would probably never walk normally again. I mean, height is important to me, but I'm not an idiot. What I meant was that, with my work ethic, if there were some sort of natural (none bone-breaking) way to get to 6'4", no matter how hard, I'd have been 6'4" since was 16. That's the kind of person I am, and Dr. Guichet I believe definitely screens for that.

O0o0h. I thought you were actually expressing some 6'2 or 6'4 secret desire. I don't take any height related references lightly because of the ambience of this place lol. Good to know you're reasonable about it. ;D
Do you think 5'8 to 5'10 is worth it though?

The guys that are like 5"10 and up.. And think that they are held back by their height are sad people.

Socially, they are fine. But if they had father's who are taller then them, then I can understand their mental dilemma
At the same time I regard anyone over 5'7 to be fine socially unless you live in like the Netherlands. What I find crazy is when people who don't have height neurosis, and just let comments get to them decide that it's sane enough to do LL at this current state. If LL was much easier then I wouldn't think it'd be so crazy.

I am a 5'7 living in italy. I have no idea what you are talking about. Even walking with shoes that add to my height 3-4cm I am still one of the shortest males around (And that's without including the teenage giant mutants). 5'9+ is where you are at a normal range height.

Talking about discrimination, not so much your own personal mental/character weakness/insecurities. You're short in the sense that you're slightly below average, but you really won't face any problems (you even said so last time that you didn't have a problem with that; which does highlight that it's all in your/our heads). All those comments of people below 5'9 are usually to those bellow 5'7.

I'm with Alu on this one. The 5'7' - 5-9' group have a significant advantage over the 5'4-5'6 guys. 5'7 in my opinion, is where most caucasian girls draw the line. Here, you can redeem yourself with cash money, great education, other good qualities that LL'ers lack 'cuz they're too busy shaming themselves. A 5'4 guy, she'd be embarrassed to take home even if he had all the goods.
If i was 5'7, I would've kept all money and bought 2 BMWs instead of breaking my legs.

It's in everybodys head. Yeah I said that no one really told me "Wow you are short". But I am just conciouss about the fact that I am shorter than most guys I see on the street. I did get "you look taller in the photos" comments though

Doing it when you are below 5'7 is the same as doing it if you are 5'7 or above. What changes is the reason you do it. At your height (below 5'7) I can understand why this surgery might indeed be a "life changer". Guys like me which are "borderline" dont believe (atleast I can say for myself) that going up to 5'9 will be a "life changer" because it wont. It will indeed make life easier (not needing to be full of cash or great education of whatever you listed) because being average, height will just wont be a problem (and neither a quality)... It will just be something that won't make part in my life.
