Im 17 now and plan on getting this surgery before I turn 21 and enter university. I was going for dr parihar who is charging 18K in sgd for the surgery plus 7K for the hotel stay. Should i maybe save up 18K and take a 7K loan for the stay?

You'll need to be aged 18 or over and have sufficient credit history for an unsecured loan and you should ensure you can meet the monthly payments whether rain or shine i.e. if your recovery is delayed and you cannot work for longer than expected the bank will still want their money.
In an ideal world you would have a passive income like dividends from shares for example that would cover the monthly repayments but you would require substantial investments to achieve this.

Student loan.
I'm pretty sure if they find out your using the student loan for something other than university then you'll get in trouble.

If you're in the UK they won't. It's just a maintenance loan. That said, I wouldn't want to have to work full time plus do a full time course at university.

Thanks :). I might just go home after my surgery but after reading chris's diary and how his nail was forced to be locked Id rather wait it out until my bones are fully lengthened. So even if my parents wanted to lock my fixiators theyd not really be able to do anything. Id still be 5'6 (169cm).
