Title: Premature consolidation
Post by: Jim_dabarber on December 17, 2017, 01:28:47 AM
To any veteran ll’s who have had premature consolidation. What does it feel like or how do you know when you have it? Today i started feeling this weird tingly numbing feeling in the front of my tibia. Doesnt really hurt its just really weird feeling but im starting to get concerned as i just lengthened and it seems to have gotten more intense.

Hey,

What is 4 cm cross lengthening ?

Im lengthening 4cm on my left tibia and 4cm on my right femur. Thats the first stage once done ill take some time off and let my body recover then go back and do the same process but instead my right tibia and left femur.

Hope you consolidate really well. Why is it "cross" ? Why didn't you do one segment first and then other ?

I didn't had premature consolidation, but I think probably there is nothing to worry about but definitely tell this to your doctor.

Thanks. Im doing pur externals and well doing both femurs with externals is impossible as frames are really uncomfortable so doing the procedure this way enables me to do externals for both femur and tibia

I hope you'll have a great journey. It has been 5 months since I had the surgery. I was 1,68-69 and now around 1.75. It feels great the new height. You'll be 1.73 after the surgery and will feel the huge difference.

I had the removal surgery 9 weeks ago. Before the removal it was really bad, I had a huge ballerina, I couldn't get up my legs were so sensible but I got much much better after the removal. Removal didn't hurt and I started walking unaided a week after the removal with the cast they put on my legs. Now I took the cast off and walking quite good and every day it is getting better. I even sometimes say that I could do a cm more to go 7.3-7.5 cms but after 6 cm my legs were shouting me to stop and was hurting so bad. So don't ever be pessimistic everything can change of a sudden after the removal.
