Title: Tibia LON Xray Review
Post by: iwanttobeabillionaire on April 29, 2018, 03:23:29 AM
Any opinion on my x-rays? This is about 4 days post-OP without any lengthening yet.

On my right leg, it appears the top and bottom half of the fibula are barely aligned. I have been told this is no cause of concern but would like your guys feedback.

Otherwise, I think the initial breaks are clean.

Wow, you went ahead and did it like you said (http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=5010.msg82668#msg82668)! Looking forward to your diary.

Similar questions come up about the fibula now and again, and for good reason: it's freaky yet not uncommon. Here's a thread that mentioned it (http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=5078.msg80153#msg80153), and a reply saying that it's OK because the femur and tibia carry the majority of the weight. A perfectly aligned fibula isn't necessary.

I've seen x-rays similar to yours, and they turned out fine. Luckily you're getting regular x-rays to intercept any problems, as bad cases can lead to some complications. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3369154/)
