Title: How much do you trust Armenia? Yereven center of limb lengthening and reconstru
Post by: Activatedx on May 11, 2019, 12:04:21 PM
I don’t think Armenia is a well developed country, I’ve never really heard about it, it’s right next to turkey I think. I really probably wouldn’t take the risk. wish US prices were like this
Pretty sure latn included the external on tibia but I replied asking just to make sure

“Hello,

Let's firstly discuss the height increase by 10 cm (5cm on tibias, 5cm on femurs), then we'll take 11 cm into consideration as well.
Besides medical service we also organize accommodation one for our patients.

10 cm cross-lateral tibia-femur lengthening (CLTFL) by the classical Ilizarov method  will take 12 months and cost $ 37,600 ($ 22,000 for medical expenses, $15,600 - accommodation one). Between the two stages of lengthening, a period of rehabilitation is necessary, which usually lasts one to three months. During the rehabilitation period you can stay in Armenia or go back home.

If you have shortage of time we can offer you height increase for 10 cm by lengthening over the nail (LON) method or lengthening and then nailing (LATN) method. It will take 5.5 months and cost $ 41,150 ($ 34,000 for medical expenses, $7,150 - accommodation one). .

The mentioned prices cover all medical expenses, including pre-surgical clinical and radiological examinations, surgeries, one hour of  training with the physical therapist every day (6 days a week), up to 7 days at hospital after each surgery, transportation from and to hospital, and accommodation expenses ($1,300 per month), including staying at a comfortable apartment with care, 3 meals/day, cleaning, laundering, etc.

After frames removal we recommend that patients reduce physical activity for 1-2 months (wheelchair, walker, crutches) but after 3 months no limitation is required, including things like  running, contact sports, etc.

Nails removal is not mentioned in the price. Nails should be removed in 6-12 months after the lengthening when bone consolidation is completed according to radiological examination.

If you have any question, please feel free ask us.”

I live in Azerbaijan, the country next to Armenia. In my personal opinion, the doctors are pretty good in the entire region, meaning Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, etc. Most come from Russian backgrounds, where the surgery has a pretty rich history. if you think about WW2 and afterwards where many soldiers were blown apart by bombs etc from the wars, the surgery was designed to put people back together. So it's studied and practiced well in the area.

However, I would suggest Azerbaijan, Baku instead of Armenia, Yerevan. The city has much better facilities because the country is oil rich and still cheap to stay in accommodation. I am doing my LL here in Baku, you can check my diary as well. Or just PM and I'll try to help regardless of what you decide.

This is the blog of a Japanese male who had CLL surgery in Yerevan,Armenia.
His right tibia is bent like a banana.
I think having LL surgery in Armenia is like gambling.

It was Dr Mirzoyan who was in charge of him.  This doctor did a very bad job

8 months post surgery and I'm using forearm crutches but walking quite well. Frames will probably be removed in 1-2 months, but still I haven't done enough physio to walk unaided, so I'm walking a kilometer a day until the strength is there.

Mirzoyan jacked up user Craig49's legs really badly some years back, too. It's a shame he still gets patients for CLL, and he's the only doctor Ive seen who changes his surgical fees based on your target length - meaning he'll charge you more if your target length is 6cm than if your target length is 4cm.

Yeah doctor changing price on set target should be a big red flag. Im really considering doctor muharrem inam in turkey, i want to do this sometime next year possibly around march or so. Or at least tibias 5-6cm starting by next march
