Hi guys, for those who have done femur with Stryde how soon were you able to slowly walk up and down stairs? I'm trying to find accommodation but most places have around 10 steps before access to elevator.

That's a tough question. I believe you can walk on average very very slowly and carefully at about 4-6 weeks. Anyone else has experience in this? I avoided stairs completely until I was completed with the lengthening phase. There is a video on Movie's diary where he is walking upstairs at about 4 weeks.

Thanks IFS! :) How long were you in a wheelchair for post-op? Were you reliant on others to help you to walk to bathroom etc. for very long?

I walked 'down' the stairs 3 weeks after surgery (was forced to because of a meeting and my company having one lift in like half a mile long campus!!) and then again almost one week days after that, did not face much problem, just be careful - hold o to the rail with one hand and your cane with another. I do not have the guts to try to climb 'up' the stairs until I am fully consolidated. one thing to note: climbing down after 3 weeks was much easier than climbing down after almost 4 weeks, the more you lengthen then worse everything gets, trust me, till 3 cms it is ok, then the hell breaks loose.
