Post by: ru on February 27, 2020, 09:19:17 PM
Hi

Is it safe to get LL now in a different country? will doctors accept you as a patient in US if you are visiting from abroad?

any traveling restrictions?

It would depend on which country you want to go to. I would probably stay away from China, South Korea and Italy just to be on the safe side lol.

This is the worst moment to do it now.
There is an epidemic all over Europe, right now.
The following days will show the hole dimension.

Is it really safe to get surgery now with coronavirus pandemic? if you get coronavirus while doing lengthening you will have to stop immediately! Even in US, South Korea, Italy there is coronavirus now.

There have been better times, yeah, but the chance of getting it is still very low.
Best to wait and see whether spring and summer stop the spread of it though.

I am scheduled to have LL surgery in LA this Summer. For now, I'm just waiting to see how the next few weeks unfold before contacting surgeon to see if I should or can reschedule to early 2021. Without financial penalties (as I don't have surplus $$ ) hopefully as it not involves surgery fees but flights, accommodation, aide, which are already booked and paid for. I guess it will depend on how slammed hospital and staff are for the surgery side of things, plus in general how CA/LA response ramps up to deal with this pandemic. I am hoping elective surgeries get the go ahead after the oncoming swell of Spring. Risk seems to be low for young/healthy people. Anyone else got LL surgery lined up in the States and if so what are your thoughts/ideas? I know international travel is restricted for now, only talk at this stage for restricting domestic air travel.

Better to just postpone it mate. LL is quite stressful in itself. I wouldn't want to be stressed about other things like whether the aide washed their hands or running out of supplies. I mean in all probability, you will be fine, but it might hurt your lengthening goals if you have to get tested for the virus or be quarantined.

Just curious to know, why did you choose the LA doctor and not the Nevada one? Feel free to PM me if you like to keep it private. Thanks :)

Yeah, I'd say postpone it too. It doesn't matter much on which country you're doing it as it seems it's just a matter of time until the virus gets there too, which is usually followed by everyone being locked into there homes etc.

I agree with the others, rescheduling it would probably be best. Touch base with Dr. M and let him know your concerns he will work with you

I've been reading your posts, just curious to know, are you Dr. M patient? Or do you know him through a consultation?

if im not mistaken any kind of major surgery diminish / suppresses your immune system.
and covid-19 LOVES supressed immunity, thats why majority of deaths are older people.
and its the most easily and rapidly spreading virus to the date.

pospone it  :)

Nah I'm not a patient of his just know him from DM's on Instagram for past few years. But now I think his office staff handles his IG mostly now but I've chatted with him. He's in my top 5 docs to get LL surgery done by based on his methods, safety, patient results etc.

What do you think, can economic crisis caused by lockdown decrease global LL prices?

From the Paley Institute (there’s more, but mainly relevant to existing patients only.)

“St. Mary’s Medical Center has mandated new restrictions on the performance of elective surgery. We will continue to perform procedures for patients whose condition may worsen with delay in treatment. We will also perform procedures to alleviate pain, suffering and disability. If patients have already travelled here from afar (more than 120 miles) we will try and accommodate them to avoid unnecessary inconvenience or expense.”

Dear good sir,

I respectfully would also advise you against travelling to the colonies for one's health at present, due to the ongoing rioting and disloyalty to the King.  I suspect this George Washington fellow will be captured and hanged for treason shortly along with his enablers, so do keep one's spirits up until such events transpire.

Very Truly Yours,
Lord Medium Drink Of Water
