Title: Is 9 cm femoral lengthening with LON considered safe for me?
Post by: Five Eleven Midday on July 14, 2020, 02:36:30 PM
I'm mid-day 179.5cm with a morning height of 181cm and my before-bed height is usually 178.8-9cm. My femurs are 50 cm approx. The doctors that I talked with always said that 8cm at my height is very safe, but I have never asked them about 9cm. If I lengthen 9cm, I will be a strong 6'2 with a night height of 187.9, if I lengthen 8cm, I will be a weak one. I know it sounds kinda stupid but being a strong 6'2 is my dream. Can I lengthen 1 cm more without complications?

I believe the Stryde nail maxes out at 8cm so if you did LON you'd have to do it on another type.

I think the difference is marginal. What's more important is your health.

Paley, for example, would turn you down completely.

You're better off doing two segments - femur and tibia, 5cm on each.

It won’t look good at all. Your femurs are already very long.
Around 6cm on femurs would still be good looking.

Your tibias will look ridiculous short if you do 8-9cm on femurs.
