Budget is about 20k USD(can increase to 25). What reputable surgeons would you guys recommend that'd get me 5cm tibias?
Doesn't have to be the latest technology but also nothing too old.
-
I'm 170 and want to get to 175. Not really interested in more height as I prioritize my health.
I'm 19 working part time. My growth plates are still open but I'm getting the surgery when they close.

Growth plates rare

Sorry but you can only get the oldest technology for that price. I'd advise you not to clean the crusty stuff off of your pinsites like doctors tell patients to. The ones who didn't clean it had fewer infections out of a sample size of about 30.

If you do not clean the pinsites is it not bad for the skin around the pins itself to heal making it harder down the line for the surgeon upon removal?

It's just a scab, so no big deal.

Does it reduce the pinsite pain somehow? I might be wrong about this but it almost feels like I have more pinsite pain the more I clean the scabs

pls dont use medieval tech. you are risking your life and legs fools! save some more money up.

Yeah. If you fell and scraped your elbow would you keep peeling off the scab or leave the scab? Which would hurt more?
I understand why they think it's good to remove them. The scab isn't fully covering the wound as long as the pin is in there, and it can get torn somewhat when you move, so they figure you should just remove it and sterilize the area regularly. But the scabs still help somewhat, and you can still put alcohol on the scab so the alcohol will go into any small openings that may appear.
This is just something we discovered on our own by having 30 foreign patients sharing advice with each other at the hospital.

So what's the next best thing if you don't mind me asking? PRECICE? And how much does it cost

About double your budget.
Giotikas offers these within my budget
Tibia lengthening with TSF (Smith & Nephew) circular frames: 23615 Euro
Tibia lengthening with TSF (smith and Nephew) and Synthes Expert nail (LON): 32600 Euro
Tibia lengthening with TSF (smith and Nephew) and Synthes Expert nail (LATN): 33600 Euro
Thoughts?
-
when do u intend getting it done?
-
There is a 1% chance your growth plates are still open at 19. And if they are, why are you on this forum? You should be getting on HGH asap. C'mon sir.

After conversion those come out to $28,000 - $40,000. I think TSF is overkill for a cosmetic patient going in with healthy legs. Your results would be just as good in Russia or India with the old Ilizarovs.
-
indeed - russia is a v good option - 20,000 less

Not if you include rent, food, all other extra costs. It would be smarter to just save up for internals and go back home. I know that is what i would have done if I were to go back in time.

Dr. Halil Buldu offers LON method on tibias for 15,000€. And other doctors in Turkey like Metin KUCUKKAYA does LON for approximately 18.000€, I think? I believe some indian doctors are also capable and offer CLL surgery for a reasonable price. Overall LON is the best option under your budget. Of course it’s just my opinion. You can always save up and wait for a few years to do Stryde.

Dr Buldu offers stryde and precise so he should save up a wee bit more and just get that done instead and immediately go back home.

russia in total €18000 - all costs incl

They have changed since I last checked anyway.

who/what has changed??

I was originally planning to get it done with Dr. Kulesh a year or two ago and I remember the prices of the intial surgery being around the 10k mark but the rent in St. Petersburg was very expensive in comparison to the rest of the country. I also remember asking overdozer and he did mention that Russians get the surgery done for a cheaper price than foreign patients. Then I saw Androids progress and had a change of heart.

OP states 20,000 budget - russia no problem at all - i was in volgograd and could have done it for 15,000 all in - v cheap there

Good to hear in that case. 5CM on tibias should not take much of his time either. Is that LON you checked out or all externals?
-
externals
-
LATN is 2 grand more i think

externals
If he has the time

well u either make the time or not

May I ask why? It’s because you suffered a lot during lengthening phase or the longer recovery time compared to Stryde. I’m seriously considering doing LON Tibias with Dr. Halil Buldu by the end of this year.

I am perfectly fine now but the beginning was hell. It is an individual experience though, it could be different for you. Whatever you do decide Dr. Buldu knows what he's doing and you would be in safe hands.

the beginning is often the worst time - the mental adjustment to seeing ur legs voluntarily broken!!
