i see, reading diaries, majority of people prefer doing LON instead of pure externals.
so what the point to do LON? only in time economy to wear ext fixators?
and what about risks? - bone misalignment, higher risk of infection, etc
or they are all negligible so the LON becomes the best option?
P.S. i wanted to do pure externals, but now i am doubt maybe to choose LON.

I never do LON it's just too traumatic

Only for the first two weeks. All methods are traumatic, you're breaking both legs lmao.
Never do pure externals, I've never heard anybody having a good time with those. Also extremely long recovery.

BodyBuilder and Kilokhan did well.

The only advantage of LON is that you don't have to wear the fixators as long. If you have time, do pure externals.

Bruv bless their hearts. That's like an year's commitment. I can't ever imagine giving up a year of my life like that to be in a wheelchair.
Both methods are barbaric and brutal, but at least with LON we get to walk and weight-bear. A guy here did Ilizarov for 2cm before quitting. His scars from it are gnarly as .

yeah, but what about disadvatages, if they are just slightly higher, so maybe its better to choose LON?
i try to understand logic , why a lot of people choose LON instead pure ext, or there is only one reason - time economy?

LON means you have external frames and internal nails.

I know man, I've got the monorail on my leg as we speak :(
But I thought you stay ultra-immobile (wheelchair) when you do pure externals for 6-12 months. I could be mistaken

They're the same during lengthening. The only difference is what you have during consolidation.
