Hey I dunno if you guys have watched <fight club> but I really think it is a very overwhelming movie in enlightening the audience about the Consume Culture, masculinity, human's nature, criminal mind and etc.
Plus, this movie's story is very legible and deserves me to catch up with per sec, not like the other movies I have seen in this yr where I had been sleepy for most of time when I was watching them. Even when I am retrospecting this movie, I am still admiring David Fincher's cinematography.
To be frank, I must thumb up this movie and rate this movie like 9.0(It really deserves it).

It's such an old and famous movie , how did you come across it just now ? Lol
And it's a really nice movie and covers up a lot of themes .
I feel that nowadays it's all about marvel's n family movies ..did not see great things in the last few years besides really few ones

Young people typically don't see movies in order. They watch the new stuff that's marketed to them at first and then graudally watch the classics.
Check out Rear Window and Psycho by Alfred Hitchck if you haven't see them yet.
-
It's one of the best movies ever. I've watched it at least 5-6 times.
It's been 22 years since the movie came out, but it's still legendary.
-
Check out "American Psycho" if you stuff in that vein.

I was born in an era that is actually a market that is occupied by Marvel's or DreamWorks' movies and to be frank, I don't think these movies can feast my eyes without the gimmicks like special effects, Brand effect and etc., except that movies like <fight club> can get me overwhelmed at any moment.
So yeah you put it right that nowdays we need more ingenious movies with abundant contents and enlightenments.

Yeah and the old epic movies are substituted by movies that are riddled with Brand Effects, special effects, and etc. and that's one of the crucial factors why young ppl are at first prone to new but cheap movies.
Rear Window and Psycho are too old for me to watch and I can't accept. But thx!

I have watched <The Usual Suspects> just in the last week before I watched fight clud but the story itself is not overwhelming and I had been dozing for almost all of the time when I was watching but the ending, technically speaking, is very creative and shocking. But as long as you know the ending of this kind of movies, they will be worthless and The Usual Suspects is more like a detective game that needs you to find out whether this story is true or not according to what Kint tells you.

If you enjoy detective story you should check out Conan anime movies.

No I am not into detective stories and I just compared the Usual Suspects to a detective game.

Why can't you accept an old movie? They're to Fight Club what Fight Club is to the new Spider Man.

Speaking of some notable good old films, there were some good ones in the late 90s. Independence Day, Truman show, Gattaca. Especially Gattaca that perfectly tells about the future era where we are living now. Have you seen them?

Which rock have you been living under? Very surprised you watched it now, this is a very well known movie and very good. I'm glad you liked it.

I'd rather watch the paint drying than enjoying that dull cinematography.

Nope, sorry.

I am living under a rock where youngsters like me are compulsorily bombarded with romance movies, Marvel movies, and DreamWork's movies consisting of gimmicks.

How do you know it's dull if you haven't watched it? Those are both directd by Alfred Hitchck.

I'm in early 20s so I'm not a dad by any means but I suggest you to at least catch up with what has been produced from 2000 to present .
90s to 2000 have pretty good ones but some are too old for me too because of how they are built but lots of good movies in the 2000-2010 time frame .
Nowdays special effects and productions are amazing but the content its just bad...the scripts are bad and the actors are like kids .
Scared that we will not have anymore people like Alpacino,DeNiro,DiCaprio etc.

Special effects from computer exists long ago. Most notably Jurassic park in 1993.

Yeah, best not to judge them by the posters. Even to now directors copy Aflred Hitchck's cinematography.

I think what I appreciate most about fight club is how my interpretation of its themes, particularly masculinity, has changed over the years as my understanding of masculinity has.

I think I'm younger than you (First year university) and I've seen people watch these millennial classics like fight club. Don't get me wrong though people do still watch marvel blockbusters and I think they're decent but there's also other good stuff to watch like millennial classics.

You are very new to the American culture.
