Age:30
Original height: 171
Goal: 5-6cm
Hey guys, gonna start a diary about my leg lengthening journey in Istanbul with Dr Halil Buldu. Trying to not overcomplicate things with lots of details but rather give you more of an idea of where I'm at and my thoughts about my experience. Not a typical writer so trying to keep it brief. I did appreciate all the diaries on the forum that I read which help me a lot with my decision, so this is my way to return the favour to future patients who are seeking out experience and surgeons.
Why I chose Dr Halil Buldu?
Liked the business idea (Packages) that they offered for a price I could afford. That includes pretty much everything and all you need to worry about is to prepare yourself mentally (obviously financially). I had contact with former patients and Sedat who answer all my questions and read heaps of diaries which convinced me to go there.
Wish me good luck!
Ps. Had my surgery the 25th of February.

Pre-surgery in Istanbul:
Landed in Istanbul 23rd of Feb and got picked up by a team member of Livelifetaller. Very kind guy but with limited English. He took me first to the hospital to get a blood test followed by an x-ray of my legs. I'm not gonna lie but, it was very fast and efficient and got done within an hour. He took me afterwards to the hotel which they booked for 2 nights including breakfast (at your own expense obvs) for a good price. Was meant to have a consultation with the doctor and Sedat the same day but got postponed to the day after.
The consultation was at the rehabilitation centre which is a newly renovated building and it looked really fresh. The consultation went well and met a part of the team, they were all lovely. I also met a couple of patients and had a little tour inside the facility. They got a gym, rehab centre and the lobby was divided into a cafeteria and entertainment space. Level one and up were rooms for all the patients consisting of 7 floors, everything being new and fresh (visit their Instagram to get a visual view of it).
Afterwards, we decided to go through with the surgery the very next day.

I am not pouring a backet of cold water onto you and willing to be a killjoy.
But nearly all of Halil Buldu patients' diaries seem to me he is always prone to running the high risks and disconcerned about patients' safeties, like lengthening over 8cm on femurs or even tibias with fixators(again I am not saying they are impossible but they are indeed over the safe limit, not to mention with fixators) and nearly all of other surgeons wouldn't like to recommend such lengthening amount. So I think you gotta watch out during the procedures. I think if procedures proceed smoothly then you can go on lengthening otherwise just end(you can't predict any accident) since you've already had consultations with him.

I think he is most focused on gaining as much money as possible which is why his instagram is very activing and openly advertising this highly invasive procedure

I have yet to check his instagram but I heard from a Buldu's LL veteran(maybe named overdozer?)who revealed Buldu doing 3 LL surgeries per day so you can know how disconcerned he is with patients' post-LL healths.
Besides, it's such a coincidence that just within two months, three diaries about another Turkish surgeon named Mustafa Uysal were posted sequentially on this forum. It made me worried about another new surgeon starting to advertise on this forum.
-
My diary is real as I am not affiliated with any brokerage company :)
The fake diaries are probably made by companies, not doctors. The doctor doesn't even know.
Therefore, those who write real diaries suffer.

This has been my biggest concern so far guys. Haven't even posted anything about my surgery or post-surgery and yet people on this forum jump the gun because they heard one guy on the forum saying one thing. Really discouraging to really put in a good and honest diary about my experience with 3 replies not even giving you any sort of encouragement. I mean, may sound like a drama queen atm but I could literally do anything else than to share this story with you, one of the reasons why I've slightly distanced myself from this forum.
Advertising, well they put videos and pictures on Instagram and Youtube to show you how things are done. I've been a business owner myself and social media is perfect for a business to share what they doing and has to offer for a minimum cost. Even more trustworthy than a business that doesn't share anything. That is as much advertising they do, can barely say it is advertising. Can be compared to a restaurant's Instagram of them posting pictures and videos of their food, I feel like they just doing their job to its fullest.
Having 3 surgeries a day: have no idea how a patient knows how the doctor works every day. I can confidently say I knew that there was another patient having surgery the same day as me and it may have been a third one. Think rehab centre fits like 40 patients, so impossible to have 3 surgeries every day for cosmetic purposes or there would be 90 patients a month with that logic. Not saying I know the business but it is common sense. Also, I asked during my hospital stay (was there for 4 days) if there were any new patients coming in and there were none since I was there. The majority of patients are doing the package, so you have 90 days post-op to stay at their rehab centre. Even though 3 surgeries were conducted each day it is not an unusual amount of surgeries since my partner's dad is a surgeon as well and I know how that work works. But I guess 3 surgeries have happened in one day and that it happens occasionally, but again, have no idea how he operates on a daily basis.
Regards to how much you can lengthen: In my consultation, I asked how much I could gain with Tibias since I wanted to gain around 6 cm. The doctor said 6 cm is a fair and possible amount to gain to be considered safe ( obviously depends on the individual), he did not recommend going much above that. So I don't know, I know some people here gone above 8 cm on Femurs and have had a good outcome but again there are patients here that have done Femur and stopped at 5.5cm and felt that is enough. So it is an individual thing but I personally would not go above the considered "safe zones". I mean, I've seen Dr Donghoon Lee in South Korea who is famous for being one of the best in Asia and seen people getting 7 cm on Tibias and have had an amazing post-op life. Better set your mind to something realistic rather than hoping to gain something above those parameters, but I did not get that experience that the doctor tried to max your height out which I would consider very bad for his reputation.
I have gained +3cm now, so far so good but I am still considering if I should post more for you guys since you don't seem remotely interested in what I have to share while I'm also spending a fair amount of my own time on something people ain't appreciating. I mean, it is up to you at the end of the day if you like the doctor or not. Not trying to promote anything but if you guys let your guard down and listen to what people have to share maybe your choices of choosing the right surgeons would be easier.
Well with that all said (after typing for more than an hour) just feedback to you guys as well from a writer's perspective, take it or leave it just me trying to make things better.

One piece, I hope everything goes well and healthy.
I saw fake diary on this forum before I had this surgery too.
Companies invest heavily in these surgeries. Companies Instagram etc. It is normal to advertise on social networks.
What is wrong here is to write a diary on behalf of someone who has never had an operation or who has had an operation.
Most people have this surgery but do not want to write a diary. Does it have to be written? of course no.
Can't someone who has an operation through the company write a diary? of course no
Can write the good and bad sides of the company. Sets an example for others, etc.
unfortunately, real diaries suffer due to fake diaries
Solution?
Those who write real and fake diaries will one day emerge.
one piece, As long as you're real, please keep writing in your diary...
-
Good luck One piece!
Are you on any blood thinning medication at all?
-
One Piece, thank you for your diary. Congratulations on the transformation brother, we were the same height and now we will be the same height again! Please keep your head high, this is not an easy procedure. You're very brave for doing this. I've done Femurs, and I am looking to do Tibias next, sometime this summer.
Could you tell me about your pain levels after surgery, and how long did it take for it to subside? How is the everyday pain levels? And how is your walking? I knew some people doing tibias could walk just fine without crutches around 3-5cm.
For me pain was the hardest thing to overcome when doing Femurs.
-
Thank you Thankscience, I am taking blood thinner every day, it is very important according to the doctor.
-
Will continue to post thank you MRJames. Unfortunately, we're living in a world with lots of doubts.

Thank bro, it is a life-changing procedure. Pain level right after surgery for me was painful. The first and second day was the worst, The third day I think was when it started to get better. Everyday pain level is not bad so far but again, I'm using painkillers daily which helps me through the days. I am Walking with crutches and can take steps without them, but don't recommend walking without crutches even if you could, not gonna risk falling down breaking something because I can walk without crutches. It is all about balance. Pain hasn't been the hardest yet, but I've heard when you reach 4-4.5 cm and up, is when the real challenge starts.

Day 1-4: The operation day and hospital stay
Got picked up from my hotel and was taken to the hospital. Did not like that I wasn't told that I was going to the hospital right away since my surgery time was meant to be around 1 o'clock and I found myself in the car on my way there like 8am. The communication could have been better. I arrived at the hospital and a couple of hours later I was in surgery. Woke up in my room with pain and a couple of LLT team members checking on me to see if everything was all right before leaving. Not gonna lie but the pain was there, they gave me painkillers and it got better for a while until the pain got back. Really lonely times, recommend you not to go there alone if you can, or at least the first couple of weeks have someone by your side. Because it is mentally challenging and you can't do much by yourself. I found hospital staff not very friendly and barely anyone could speak English that well.
The second day we tried to walk, manage to walk around 15 meters and boy it was painful. The very same night I really got depressed asking myself why I did this to myself but tried to stay positive. Not gonna lie but was almost willing to give up. Luckily I remembered I read another person's diary a while back who felt the exact same way and really had regretted the first few days after surgery but revealed at the end of his/her journey that it was worth it and that it would be mentally challenging at the start. The doctor came by checking on me and told me the surgery went well and showed me the x-rays that he said looked really good.
The rest of the hospital stay was okay and I was already looking forward to leaving the hospital to go to the rehab centre. Food wasn't great but anything during that time was ok, I did have an appetite and everything tastes decent when you're hungry.
-
Day 4-7
Finally left the hospital and arrived at the rehabilitation centre. Got a great welcoming and got a beautiful room on level 2. The Head nurse made sure that everything was set up for me since I was unable to pretty much do anything. She helped me unpack clothes and other necessities for my stay until I could do things myself. She made sure to create an account for me to do the online ordering for food deliveries and grocery shopping. Also, got plenty of contact numbers for different things. They also do have an in-room dining menu which is very convenient with like 22 food items.
The physio and PT are included in the package price and it is divided evenly through the week with Sunday being a rest day. So there are 3 PT sessions and 3 Physio sessions each week.
The first week was very difficult for me, very hard to bend my knees and walk without feeling a lot of pain. Ended up peeing in water bottles at night because it was just hard to get out of bed and just go pee when I had access to empty water bottles. They recommended me to drink lots of water to reduce the swelling in my legs and have that blood circulation going, so lots after water bottles got emptied and filled up ;D
I got a prescription for 3 different painkillers for use during my days, also got a stomach protecting medicine to take every day before breakfast.
Blood thinner was the first week in a syringe form which the nurses help to inject while I also got an oral blood thinner medicine for use after the first week.
The lengthening commenced 7 days after surgery, so in my case 4th of March. Used a wrench key to turn 90 degrees every 6 hours (4 times a day) to lengthen my legs, so everyday I got 1mm taller.
-
14th of March - First X-rays after lengthening
Today was the 10th day of my lengthening, meaning that I have achieved 1cm by myself. So my total distraction since my surgery was 2.1cm on my right leg and 2.2cm on my left leg including the gap they left after breaking my legs. I can't upload any picture of my X-ray here but my bone healing was good on my left leg and slightly better on my right leg. So far everything is good, sleep is not the best averaging around 2-3 hours a day.
Pain comes and goes but it is still manageable and doesn't impact much. However, sleeping is difficult, when falling asleep I sleep for like half an hour waking up to stiff legs and it gets really hard to return to sleep (very frustrating and it drives me crazy). This is very normal but if you are thinking about doing surgery, expect really bad and sometimes sleepless nights (if you're doing LON). I've heard that Precise patients sleep much better and people that had their removal got way better sleep than they had with the fixators on.
-
Up to date - 27th March
Today is a good day, finally got good sleep even though I woke up every hour being stiff. Every time I wake up the stiffness is there, so I usually walk it off like back and forth in the room before returning back to sleep. I guess I got around 6-7 hours sleep in total which is really good compared to my previous week where one hour of sleep was my average. My lengthening should have reached around 3.3-3.4 cm on both legs, I can say reaching closer to 3 cm was when it started to get a little more challenging for me. New pain areas popped up and one, in particular, stuck out which was very painful lasted 30 min, had to put my leg in one position (slightly bent) to reduce the pain. That pain level was like 9/10 and fortunately, that was the only time it occurred. Things are good so far and I hope it doesn't get much worse. Think I'm having an x-ray on Tuesday and hopefully it will show good bone healing and 3.5cm in growth but I am not gonna jinx it.
My physiotherapist says everything looks good so far when it comes to my physio, bending etc. But again, the hard times are yet to come, especially when I'm exceeding 4-4.5 cm. I will put my goal at 6 cm for now but will decide if I wanna continue to lengthen when I reach 5cm. If my body says no more lengthening at 5cm I will stop for sure.
Can walk without crutches but prefer to use them since I'm afraid if I fall, I could be up for some serious complications. Better be safe than sorry.
I am starting to meet up with more patients at the rehab centre, really friendly peeps here and pleasant to exchange experiences with each other. Really puts away the depressions we have of being all alone in our rooms. Things I thought only I experience seems to be common which eases my mind and worries.
Have a good day guys.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I can assure you that there are many dozens who appreciate you sharing this story. The haters are not welcome in this community.
There are some who experience pain early in their lengthening, and then none at all in the tail end. It is very dependent on person. So you might not be in for anymore pain at all. Just remember to stretch rigorously.
I wish you a speedy recovery my friend. I will be following this diary.

Many thanks, mate, appreciate that you are enjoying it so far. Will have x-rays tmr and will update you about them. Stretching is indeed important, I think I'm doing it rigorously.

i was planing do with buldu but added 5k to the price since september las year when i asked for information. I got a question as i realized eating properly is the most important while legthening and food is not included in the package. How you solved that ? i know there is a restaurant in the rehab center but i guess is super expensive. Is there like a kitchen for coocking in the building or in the room? rooms are shared or private ? thanks for your reply as im preparing for go there and want to be sure about extra the money needed.

Yeah, They added 5k after New year, I was of the impression it would be the same price as before But got told it changed.
Food is important indeed, the better you eat the better result, But , i’ve been slacking when it comes to eating healthy. I do Have a routine for my breakfast and lunch, i haven’t Done any research about What to eat during lengthening so This is all based on What I kind of think is good and What I wanna eat. My breakfast usually just consist of yoghurt with granola and a ham and cheese sandwich accompanied with a glas of orange juice or water. Lunch is either omelette with bread and veggies or their ”Hot Breakfast” option (in house food) consists of different 3 different sausages, two different hams, some yoghurt Dopping sauce, cucumber, fried egg and a baguette. I do accompanying that with a cup of coffee.
In-house food menu is quite pricy and the quality is not quite there. I believe the food menu is tailored to be appropriate to your leg lengthening Journey.
Dinner varies from Real junk food (pizza, burgers) to Turkish food and sometimes sushi. I Will admit That I Did in-house menu Only, the 2 First weeks. I was unsure What to order online since everythingb is written in Turkish, I just was too lazy to bother. But after Getting tired of the food in-house I started ordering online. I’ve seen deliveries in my days here and People eat junk food, Dunno How often But I’ve seen and heard of it. It is their choices But i believe eating healthy contributes to a faster and better recovery. But again, Probably just seen a fragment of all the deliveries coming through.
You do Have a stove, all the basics for cooking and eating in the room. However, there is a fire alarm Very close to the stove and i’m not quite sure If it would go off If you cooked. Rooms are private, Really fresh with Tv, wardrobe and a desk. Also has a Beautiful mirror you can measure yourself on and you do Have a bathroom. Think of it as a hotel room.
Hope That answered the question 😊

Update: 42 days Post-surgery
From the last update, things have been pretty smooth. Barely any pain surprisingly, I only take Voltaren twice a day as a pain killer. I am according to my calculation around 4.3 cm distracted and I can tell that my calf muscles are getting tighter. I am Still walking with crutches and I can walk very short distances without them. However, my walking still needs to be improved, I tend to lean forward when I walk and I think it is because my calf muscles are tight so the walking doesn't look 100% normal. Sleep has slightly improved and I'm averaging around 4 hrs a night. Feel like I need to stretch a little bit more than I do atm.
Even though things are going smooth atm, I am starting to feel like hard times are ahead of me. I am scheduled for an X-ray on the 18th of April and I will hopefully be around 5.2-5.3cm if things go accordingly. From my previous X-ray, I was 1-1.5mm less than what I was supposed to be and I got the explanation that strong muscles can restrain your lengthening a little bit. I believe people with strong legs and strong muscles are not the ideal candidates for leg lengthening and that more lean/skinny people are more suitable for it. I mean, people with strong legs can still do it but I think it will be a little bit harder for them. I would say my legs are about average in size/strength.
After my next X-ray, I will also decide if I'm gonna stop lengthening, go for 6cm or something in between.
-
Glad to hear you're still going strong. The process is a lot easier to handle when the pain isn't always at the forefront of your focus! Just hanker down for two more weeks and you're virtually done!
-

Thank you Perfectbody, certainly is easier with minimal pain. I see my fellow patients who do have pain so it is very individual. I am not gonna jinx anything but have been quite fortunate so far. Can't wait to finish the distraction and get rid of the external fixator. I read your diary as well, I know you had a really hard time and I hope you're doing much better now. You should be almost 1 year after removal, can you walk normally now?
-
Yeah my walking is fine. When I’m super tired late at night I will walk with my hips when I get lazy. I need to bring my focus back to using my legs.
This week I’ve been going on daily runs (1-2 miles) and every day it gets significantly easier. It was super hard at first but now it’s almost like pre-surgery. If I knew how well I would recover I would’ve tried to do 8 cm
-
Sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences!
May I ask what you do tho pass time? Are you able to sit on a chair for hours to work/play games/browse or are you mostly bed ridden?

That is good mate. I am afraid after time passes by and when you are back walking normally that your lazier side will take over. It is impossible to foresee the future, 8cm would have been in the "safe zone" but you probably felt at the time that you were fine with the amount you gained. I actually took a day off from lengthening today since I started to get a little more pain and also being quite stiff. My physio recommended it, he said sometimes it makes a huge difference just taking a break for one day from lengthening.
We shall see how I feel tomorrow. Feeling much better now towards the night.

My pleasure, I was in your seat before so any diary was a huge help for me, for the better or worse. I gonna be honest, 1.5 months into this crazy journey people here just wanna go home haha.
Just a regular day for me:
Wake up at 6 am to lengthen my legs, I am usually very hungry at this time so I am also having my breakfast. After that I'm going back to sleep until my physio or PT starts. I usually get relatively early hours for it, so between 10:30-12:30 is when they usually start. After that, I usually go down to the lobby/cafeteria to order my omelette w bread, sausages and a latte. Hopefully, some other patients are there during that time so you can have a chat. After that, I usually go back to the room for a half to one hour nap since my sleep during the night is crap. Around 3-4ish pm, I go down to the gym and there are always other patients there during that time. We work out and we talk etc. really nice times. Afterwards, we either go to the lobby to talk, play PS5 or we just go back to our rooms. Depends on how you feel that day regards to the pain and etc. I usually have my dinner in my room and I watch Netflix or play on my phone. After dinner depending on how I feel I either stay in my room and relax until bed time or I go down to the lobby again and meet some other patients (if any there).
That is pretty much a normal day for me. I know some people go to the gym twice a day while others never go, so very individual. It does get boring after a while. Think Livelifetaller is the only place that has its own rehabilitation centre where all patients live together, that is what makes it so unique and you are never alone. This process is crazy and sharing it with other patients helps immensely.
You can definitely work from bed or sit down on a chair. I think you can't sit down for too long though, it will be uncomfortable after a while. You gotta need some sort of a break to walk or do exercises. Being on the bed is easier than sitting on a chair. This is from a LON perspective, dunno how Precice 2 patients are doing though but guess it will be quite similar.
-
Yes, definitely take a day off when you need to. It makes a TON of difference. In my 60 days of lengthening I took maybe 3, 4 days off lengthening. Many days I would only lengthen 0.75. It made it easier.

Update: 52 days after surgery
Just got my x-rays and I'm 5.3 cm on my left and 5.1cm on my right leg. I am now only lengthening my right leg for 2 days while resting my left to get the right one the same as the left. My bone healing is ok, nothing amazing, but tibia bone healing is slower than the femur in general so that worry was put to ease. Day by day is smooth, pain here and there occasionally, but nothing more than that. Sleep getting better but have days when sleep isn't quite enough. I have tight calves and it is getting harder, very crucial to do lots of stretching and walking. Don't have ballerina's foot thank god but won't jinx it. My plan now is to distract it to 5.8cm if nothing comes in the way earlier and planning on removal on Tuesday the 26th of April if possible. Will confirm with you if it's gonna be that date or not.
Wish you all a happy Tuesday.
Cheers

Hi, congrats on your +5 lengthening! Proud of you! I'm currently lengthening my tibs as well. I'm almost at +3 cm now. I will be taking my x-rays soon and curious how they will compare to yours. Would you be open to sharing yours here?
Stay strong brother,
JOKER

Hi mate, I've read your journey as well and congrats to +3cm. Yeah, would love to see a comparison, but if you DM me I can send you my x rays and we can compare them. Don't wanna share it on the internet.

Day after removal
Hi guys, back at the rehab centre now after yesterday's removal. The surgery went well but not gonna lie, the pain as I felt it then was worst than the first surgery. It was horrible, starting to get better now though but the pain is still there. Can't even stand up so this removal actually makes you feel like you're back to square one. I will rest a few days and hope to be back on track soon, this is very normal after removal to feel like I do, though there are those crazy ones that can walk right after it.
Take care
-
Let's gooo ;) glad your fixators are finally off! What a ride! Looking forward to mine removal! You'll pretty much be up and walking 2-3 days after removal don't worry mate! Also regarding the pain, I think the reason it hurst more compared to the intial surgery is becuase they don't give as strong pain killers. Anyways, get some rest ma man. You've been on a hella ride!
-
Congratulations on removal! Hope you will recover well.
For how much longer do you plan to stay in Istanbul?

Thank mate, I have 1 month left here in Istanbul. Depending on my progression I'll see if I may need to extend the stay or not, this is a huge secret after all and I want it to be as little noticeable as possible when I get back. Have some excuse stories in mind but we'll see how my walking is in a month.

Lets goooooo!! yeah, I feel like everyone's wish here is to remove those fixators ;D Every day is improving, I can walk a little bit with the walker, but I am on my toes though, I didn't have a ballerina's foot before removal but you get it after since there is a lot of swelling happening and muscles are a little tired as well, so be prepared for that.
Maybe the painkillers were weaker, have no idea at all. But I apparently used too many painkillers in the beginning so had 6-7 hours without painkillers when the pain came back, so easy 8-9/10 pain during that time, not fun at all.
Anyways, I am looking forward to be able to walk again.
Cheers ;)
-
Haha I'm planning the same, I won't tell anyone about the procedure and hope it will fly under the radar. Let me know if you find a good excuse!
-
Good morning folks,
Exactly 2 weeks after fixator removal and I feel things are going in the right direction. The first week and a half was a struggle to get the ballerina's foot down to normal. Now I don't have a ballerina's foot and can walk with crutches normally, actually went to market twice without struggle. Also, I can now walk without crutches for a short distance but my walking still looks a little bit off.
I do have just about 2 weeks left here in Istanbul, hopefully, my walking will improve immensely during that time. I can say the progression of walking is fast as soon as your Ballerina's foot is gone and when you are starting to regain your leg muscles.
Cheers ;D

How abt the biopsy there?
I saw a diary that reads that Halil's biopsy seems so messed up or else that it couldn't expose the actual situations of bone healths.
Like, that OP was actually infected but Halil told him his bones got unions.

I have no idea, he hasn't done a biopsy on me and no need to as well. Can only tell from my own experience, haven't heard anything about it from other patients as well.

1-month post-removal surgery:
Hey guys, a little update from me. I have no pain throughout the day and can only feel a little pain from the osteotomy site on my left leg when I've been walking too much. A long day walking with shoes and socks does make my legs swell a little bit, so I can't push it too much. Walking is not too far from normal, one leg is weaker than the other so sometimes It looks like I'm limping (when I walk without aid). With crutches, it looks normal. Everything so far is going in the right direction and I will try not to jinx it, still a long way to go. Been to the shopping mall twice and that is no problem with a moderate amount of walking time. I am heading back home in 5 days and we will see how it is to meet my clueless family. I need to tell them that I had some sort of correction surgery on my legs, to not raise any suspicions.
Take care for now guys!
Cheers.

Did you sweat when walking?
Regarding one leg being weaker, have you planned to wear a special shoes to deal with it until both legs balanced?

Hi ilovescience,
I am a person who doesn't sweat easily so, the answer is no. Regards to my weak leg I am Tinking of doing some exercises, it is actually the hip that is a little bit weaker on one side. Some hip exercises and other general leg exercises are what I am going to do, this is fundamental in your recovery process.

Thank you for sharing your experience and all the best with recovery. I'm also considering to go with Buldu for LON tibia.
Some questions:
1. Did you encounter any pinsite problems throughout the journey?
2. Have you seen any patients doing LON tibia but with the Taylor Spatial Frame? I'm asking this because I may require TSF to correct my bowleg issue at the same time of lengthening.

you walk almost normal after 1 month of therapy?
Can you share what kind of exercises have you been doing so that you cured your ballerina in 10 days? Is it really cured or its still there but just if you stretch 30 minutes before you start walking exercises it stretches out?
I did 5 cm as well and got my frames off 5 weeks ago and after the 2 weeks of rest prescribed by my doctor I am now 3 weeks into my therapy and still have 1.5 cm ballerina before I stretch it out by standing up straight against the wall for 15-20 minutes.
Are you able to upload a video of you walking, as you said "normally", with crutches as well as without crutches?
If worried about anonimity just crop your upper body and leave just the legs.
Thanks in advance!

Are you finished with the lengthening? And how much you gained?

Hi mate, I am doing well thanks. Back to work, I work in a restaurant, so I walk a lot daily. My walking is okay, still not 100% normal but I can say that I have done zero physiotherapies since I left Istanbul so, that is on me and no sports yet. I highly recommend doing physiotherapy, stretching and exercises all the time. Just from stretching, I feel so much better.

Hi, I am glad that you are doing well after the surgery. You can do simple stretching exercises now?

Hi man,
1. No, I was lucky with no pin site infections, barely anyone did the LON tibia when I was there but, for the ones that did, I didn't hear anyone having that issue.
2. No, they only do that monorail and Precice unfortunately.

Infections have always been a barrier to people wanting to do LL. With better understanding of LL, infection risks should be much lower now I think.

Hi mate, congrats to 5cms, just want to let you know I did 6cm, not to compare anything but just to let you know. I am the worst example of a good patient when it comes to post-op exercises and stretching, I bet I could do much better if I kept doing what I've been told. So on that part I'm not for too much help.
My ballerina disappeared fully around 3 - 4 weeks post-op, as long as you do exercises it will eventually disappear for you too. People are different.
I will not upload a video but if you wanna add me on Whatsapp or something I can send you a video I made today.
Hope you get a great recovery.

Thanks mate, seems so. Not fun to hear that people got complications.

Yeah, from what I've seen there is less infection with tibia patients than with femurs. But then again, I'm not a doctor. Only use my stretch band, that is as much stretching as I'm doing, unfortunately. I will be better, gonna start going to gym and be more serious about this.
