Hi all! I’m struggling to get my walk back to normal and was hoping to hear what specific exercises and stretches might have helped some of you get back to the way you were. I’ve been doing:
1. Elliptical with medium resistance
2. Hiking outdoors (low incline)
3. Unweighted squats (although I can’t do many because my knee starts acting up)
4. A variety of PT stretches, but I’m curious to know which you think might’ve helped you the most
Less than 6 months post op, started walking at the start of June

Is the pain still there? Or no pain at all?...

You need still Physiotherapy or you doing only your exercises?

Hi,
No valuable advice can be given without an appropriate assessment of your gait. Lots of different problems can cause issues with walking pattern. If you provide a video then more tailored advice can be given

My gait is perfect a year and 4 months after rod removal. I did lots of glute strengthening exercises. I regained 60% of my glutes and I may take another year to gain all the butt muscles I lost in the next 12 months. I do heavy leg workout twice a week and also incorporate resistance band in my leg workouts. I also stretch several times a day...... Glute strengthening exercises + stretching + strengthening your legs = gait improvement :)
