Title: Peter Thaller anyone?
Post by: keybore on August 07, 2022, 12:55:05 PM
Hi is anyone considering Peter Thaller? He charges around 90k for one segment but he will do it only in 2 surgeries.

I am considering him, anyone else went to him? please feel free to dm me.

What do you mean with "one segment"? Do you mean one leg (femur + tibia)? 90k for one bone (femur or tibia) is pretty expensive.

Yes one segment means both femurs OR both tibias. He will do it in 2 surgeries for safety and thats why its so expensive.

You mean for 90,000 euros he will do one femur and after some time he will do the other femur? If so what’s the gap between the two surgeries and does he insist on doing that way? Also what’s his reasoning? Seems like you had a consultation with him.

The 2nd surgery will be when the first one heals. I think this helps reduce blood clots due to increased mobility and fat embolism. Many European surgeons prefer doing unilateral like Baumgart, Monegal, Thaller, Koehne.
