Title: Gender difference of the leg shape
Post by: sprit33 on November 06, 2022, 01:52:59 PM
I'm an East Asian male and I'm going to undergo tibial LL surgery with LON method in the near future ,also correct my bow legs (varus) at the same time. I have observed in daily life that genu varus is more common in male and genu valgus is more common in female. I don't know if the stats show the same result of the gender difference. I'm worried I'll look feminine if I straighten my legs too much, will it?What are the gender differences  in terms of leg shape (tibia, femur, knee joint)?

Your new height will matter 100x more than the shape of your leg and I see masculine men with straight femurs all the time.  I wouldnt worry about that.  Also simply building some muscle (calves) is an option and will matter much more.

This is true.  In fact, a very smart Canadian patient in Beijing did a bunch of research and convinced the doctors to put a little bit of a bow in his legs so they would still look masculine despite lengthening 7.5 cm.  Several foreign patients followed, although I did not.

At the end.  Some attachments were installed on the Ilizarov frames that enabled them to move in different ways.  It looks like the TSF has those built-in.
