If i lengthen 7cm, internal femurs, how long from day of surgery will it take for me to walk normally?
I am hoping to lengthen within 3 months, and then try to get back 95% of my normal gait by 5 months time. Is this unrealistic? The thing is i want to keep this hidden, and going away for more than 5 months will be very suspicious.

My doc told me roughly 5-6 months for gnail I vaguely remember, anyone else got a different answer?

Unrealistic imo you have to factor in that at 1 mm a day lengthening you’re doing 2 months+ just lengthening.
Which would mean under 3 months post lengthening at 7 cm to recover 95% of walking ability.
The longer you lengthen the more exponential time it will take to recover.
I’d say a year from surgery date is more realistic. You’ll have to be realistic and factor in a significant rehabilitation time.
This doesn’t mean you can’t move until then just that you should be careful.

Just read up on diaries, one year post surgery is a bit extreme no?
Most people with WB nails at 6-7cm can walk 90-95% normally by 5-6months post surgery.
If i lengthen 7cm, at a height of already 175cm tall, with a weight bearing nail meaning i can mobilise straight away, given my flexibility already..between 5-6 months sounds realistic.

This is exactly the answer i hear too. 5-6 months post surgery - how much will you lengthen?

I told the doc I am going for 7cm and they said 5-6 months post surgery ish if things go well
They told me at 3 months most patients will be able to do a sort of wide stance (for balance) penguin walk but it won't be normal
I'm actually looking forward to months 5 and 6 alot, I can just focus mostly on recovering and getting closer and closer to enjoying my new height
I'm almost at 2 months now and at 5cm ish

It’s probably different from patient to patient but I would give it 6 months to recover to almost normal as to where you can hide it entirely. I think even if you do less it will take about that time. Maybe with 5cm 1 month earlier but because you stop clicking earlier, not because of the bone or the muscles. With weightbearing nail obviously.

Yeah my Doctors consensus was on average it's around 1 month per cm so 6cm would be 6 months and 7cm would be 7 months, but this only takes into account walking properly and doing basic physical tasks. He doesn't recommend you do intense sports like football until you take out your rod.
