Title: Muscles stiffness 2 years after the frame removal
Post by: Cpl2012 on November 14, 2022, 05:04:36 PM
Hi Everyone. It has been almost 2 years since my frame removal but my muslce still really tight. It they get tired and stiff after like 10 minutes walking, especially the shin area. Anyone has the same problem and how you treated. I got my surgery done in korea. When i check with dr in the US he said i might have to live with it the rest of my life. What he said just hit me hard.

Yes, I had this problem.  I was diagnosed with exertional compartment syndrome in my tibialis anterior muscles.  The treatment was a fasciotomy on those muscles.

How is your condition now? And where did you get your follow up visits? Thanks went to a orthopedic surgeon in the US but seems like they don’t have much experience with cosmetic limb lengthening. This morning he told me i have to live with my condition the rest of my life :( that hit me hard

My condition is much improved.  Fasciotomy is an effective treatment.

Go to a better doctor and ask to be tested for exertional compartment syndrome.  My diagnosis and treatment were handled by my health insurer.

How much did you lengthen? I am thinking about doing 4cm in my tibias. I am worried about this.

Hmm i see many ppl say rehab is key to recovery. What kind of exercise do u do? Do u regret the surgery?

Doctors are still humans and misdiagnosis/lack of knowledge is pretty common. That's why it's so imperative that you meet different Doctors ( especially someone that might have a specialization - maybe an Orthopedist? ) so you can get different recommendation and a possible treatment.

Also, I had shin splint around 2 years where it prevented me walking more than 15 - 20 minutes without resting for like a month, but it magically went away one day. Maybe your leg stiffness is also an random encounter and maybe you just need to give it more time/exercise, but again better to get a proper diagnosis with multiple opinions from different Doctors.

i do not regret though. I am just frustrated and feel uncomfortable because of the muscle stiffness

I hope my case is the same and muscle stiffness will go away
