Title: Those who did nail removals after consolidation, could you describe the feeling?

Those who did nail removals after consolidation (doesn't matter if it was precise, LON, Stryde etc, just make sure to say which one), could you describe the feeling before and after doing it to your best ability? Feel free to include every day examples.

I noticed that the nails were preventing my bones from being pliable.  While the nails were in, going up a ladder my tibias felt a little bit too rigid like they never did before and don't now.

The surgery itself was much easier and the recovery was quicker than getting the legs broken and putting them in.  I didn't want to bend my knees for a few days; it felt much better to keep them straight.  There was moderate swelling that went away pretty soon.  It only took about two weeks before I was better than I was before the removal surgery.
