Title: Tibia LON or precice unilaterally
Post by: limby101 on June 28, 2023, 10:37:31 PM
Hey guys.
I'm going to have to fix a discrepancy of 3cm in left tibia.
Considering price is not an issue, what would be wiser - lon or precice.
I know precice isn't weightberning, and both legs lengthening requires wheelchair. How is it with only one leg? Can I use crutches? Put a little weight on the leg is possible?
How about consolidation time? I heard lon is faster healing of bone because of the stress of weightbaring.
How long should I expect to wait before I can walk unassisted with the precice?
Thanks

If price is not a factor, Precice for sure. Safety above all else.

With PRECICE surgery on one leg, the patient can live on crutches with full load on the non-surgical leg.

Also, with 3 cm, non-union due to insufficient loading would be unlikely to occur.

Thus, PRECICE is a good choice with less infection.
