Title: Bulky legs
Post by: belowbelowavg on July 04, 2023, 09:22:17 AM
I have genetically strong legs, which are muscular and fatty. I can attempt to lose fat and even some muscle mass, but they will probably always be bulkier than average for my height. How does this positively or negatively affect how much I can lengthen?

I was in your same boat.
I had typical huge bodybuilder legs going into this.
It's not gonna affect you positively. What it's gonna do is create more resistance against the lengthening.
With that being said, there was another bodybuilder there at the same time as me, and he went through it quite painfree.
Again, it's very individual and hard to predict how it's gonna affect you, but for me it wasn't positive, even though I lengthened 1.5mm, the real length I got average daily was like 1.1mm on one leg and 1.2mm on the other, due to soft tissue trying to resist the lengthening.

Have you tried doing anything to lose some mass in your legs?

Before surgery, no.
Don't worry about losing mass during the process though lol. Within a month they were probably 1/3rd of the original size.

Same for me. I had pretty meaty strong thighs. My right leg in particular really resisted lengthening. The total amount of actual distraction was way less than what the ERC machine showed. Had to do 1.33 and then 1.66 mm a day for the last 6-7 weeks to avoid early consolidation.
