can the doctors identify it again and draw the new mark?
-
Yes they can. Take a compass and slowly move it along your leg. You'll find the magnet.
-
thanks i wondered how it's done
-
I kind of just eye balled it. It doesn't have to be super precise. The magnets in the machine are quite strong. As long as you're within the general area it'll be fine.
-
you can also use the magnetometer app on your phone (mine was a Samsung galaxy S5)

thanks,
have you actually happened to do it by yourself? was it perfectly ok without any problems?

Yep, I got to 8cm on femurs just by eye-balling it once the line wore off after a couple of weeks. It's almost muscle memory. You just remember the spot from the time before since you're literally doing it 3-4 times a day.

They can easily redraw it by looking at the xray.

have you ever done that yourself?

yes, I just moved phone vertically along thigh until I saw the highest "tesla" reading, then marked that point and it was correct, you can confirm this after initial surgery by comparing phone magnetometer reading with the surgeons mark .
FYI I could tell ERC was in right spot during most of my later lengthening (i.e after initial 1cm when my thigh began to really stretch) as I could literally feel tension increasing each ERC session as Rod lengthened.
