Title: What's the slowest rate recommended w/out premature consolidation?

I was wondering what's the slowest rate of lengthening one can do/doctors can recommended without the risk of premature consolidation?
Isn't slower better so soft tissue to catch up as much as it can so it can reduce the risk of tightness, ROM issues, etc.
