Title: How do you know when to stop?
Post by: heightiseverything on June 11, 2024, 01:10:55 PM
Basically, the title. How do you know if you're overlengthening and what's the worst that can happen? I keep seeing lifelong complications but no one seems to tell what they are and how to treat them.

From what I’ve seen, doctors recommend 6 cm on the femur and 4 cm on the tibia. These values are considered the safety limit, meaning that if the lengthening goes well, you are not supposed to have any lasting issues. However, if you are taller, I believe I have seen that these values can be increased. Are you currently undergoing lengthening?
