Title: PRECICE on Femurs Or LON on Tibias ????
Post by: Kenda on November 09, 2018, 03:35:04 PM
Hi , I am 152 cm and I really need someone experienced & with knowledge to tell me which option is better for me ?
I have 2 options either :

• Do Precice on femurs as alot say that LON on femur is so hard ( Dont know why ?)

•Do LON on Tibia as the money package will be almost half (25 k range )

What do yall think is the ideal option for me as i am not much Flexible , petite overall, aready have some knee joint pain

My Lifestyle requires alot of walking so i cant do an operation that would affect my walking ability for lift !!

I was thinking Dr Inan in Turkey for the LON operation or Dr Dimitrios in Athens for the precice , if anyone has better choice of doctors , pls tell me

As is usually the case, the answer is somewhere in the question.

You have answered your own question.

LON tibia could exacerbate knee pain. Research papers suggest a sizeable minority get knee pain, though most research done on trauma patients with fully implantable nails

So whta do you mean ? Internal implantable patients using precice are the ones that may experience this pain ?
Also in the Case of LON tibia isnt the nail thats implanted in the middle of the knee the exact same as the way precice is in the knee, so do both affect it equally ?

There is little direct research on cosmetic LL. You have to draw conclusions from the evidence that is there.

Not known why knee pain happens after nail insertion. The nail dimensions and materials will be different in LON and internals but there are similarities such as surgical entry point and potential damage to surrounding structures.

Even when nails are not inserted from knee, knee problems can occur because lengthening will increase tension in knees by muscles and tendons.
Especially with your knee problems I think the surgery will be riskier than normal in both femurs or tibias.
Why you wanna go to Turkey???
IF you are interested in Dr Giotikas Athens, you can talk with him via Skype and ask all the questions you have.

The price of Turkey is not that much different from Greece
If you do internal femurs
Stryde is much better than fitbone
Turkey offer Fitbones right?
I think it’s safer to do Stryde with Dr Giotikas
