Hello,
I'm a 27 year old female looking for leg lengthening surgery (for 1 leg femur) as I have LLD leg length discrepancy 3cm difference between the two legs which cause me a severe back and leg pain. I am really confused and i want to do it the next couple of month so please help me
I have some questions and concerns below..
1.will my leg be totally normal after the recovery period(as fully functioning,excersing.. etc)
2. What is the WORST case scenario if the operation didn't go well?
3.DO you operate with nail stryde in germany as I heard that it is the best? If no, What are the different kind of nails used in this operation in GERMANY?And which one is highly recommended ?
4.who is the best doctor in Germany for this operation?
5. What is the success rate for the operation?
6.how long is the recovery period after removing the nail ?
7.does the operation leaves lifetime scars?
8. How much will the surgery cost for one leg?
9. Do I have to go through any preparations before the surgery?
Thank you

after nail removal you will recover very fast, in around one week you will be walking unaided.

In Germany it seems Dr Kohn in Munich is the only choice for doing Stryde so far
In your case probably you can use your health insurance to cover the cost
It’s better to consult with doctors than asking details here

Que?
4-5 years of process to recover?
Where do you get that exactly if you can know.
Maybe I did not understand well...

With a good surgeon and proper post op care; you will be up and walking again in 6 months.

1.will my leg be totally normal after the recovery period(as fully functioning,excersing.. etc)
Yes, should be just fine. To be 100% and strong leg, probably 2 years.
2. What is the WORST case scenario if the operation didn't go well?
Any surgery can result in exceptional outcomes such as death; but the likely worst case scenario is your instance will be that recovery takes longer than expected.
3.DO you operate with nail stryde in germany as I heard that it is the best? If no, What are the different kind of nails used in this operation in GERMANY?And which one is highly recommended ?
Not sure on this one. Stryde is the most advanced nail. That i know for sure.
4.who is the best doctor in Germany for this operation?
Not sure
5. What is the success rate for the operation?
From what I can gather online, it seems like over 98% of all procedures end up well and the patient is happy and enjoying their repaired limbs or new height.
6.how long is the recovery period after removing the nail ?
1-2 weeks.
7.does the operation leaves lifetime scars?
Yes, small ones.
8. How much will the surgery cost for one leg?
This is different from one doctor to the next; but around $50,000 for one leg I believe.
9. Do I have to go through any preparations before the surgery?
From what I have heard it's good to "be ready" the process is a difficult one; so its good to be of the mindset of someone who gets up and works hard every day.

I'm not sure of who is the best surgeons in Germany. I'm not sure which nail is better from those two. I believe that the best and most well-invested and thought through nail in the world is the Nuvasive Stryde. I would ask your doctor to compare their product to Stryde.
