Definitely US doctors are the best option. It's because they incur the biggest legal risks if something goes wrong.
-
Great information. I noticed Dr. Rozbruch was listed twice. Can you clarify on that one? Thank you.

Can a foreign visitor be eligible for US health insurance if they buy it? Isn’t insurance only for accidents- then how is it listed here for this cosmetic procedure?
-
I wouldn't count on going with Dr. Rozbruch if you can't afford the full $125k price. Even if your insurance covers some of it, it certainly might not be in the listed 50-55k range, might be more than that.
-
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Thanks for the info.

agree, because when I inquired with him about this, he did not respond (the quote was $125k), so my guess is one should be prepared to pay the $125k or count him out of consideration

Another addition from me to this list. Only recently contacted the guys at Wannabetaller and these three doctors are now doing PRECICE STRYDE:
Dr. Ozgur Karakoyun
https://wannabetaller.com/team-members/op-dr-ozgur-karakoyun/ (https://wannabetaller.com/team-members/op-dr-ozgur-karakoyun/)
Dr. Yuksel Yurttash
https://wannabetaller.com/team-members/op-dr-yuksel-yurttas/ (https://wannabetaller.com/team-members/op-dr-yuksel-yurttas/)
Dr. Halil Buldu
https://wannabetaller.com/team-members/op-dr-halil-buldu/ (https://wannabetaller.com/team-members/op-dr-halil-buldu/)
And this is an excrept from the website:
"We use 4 methods of limb lengthening surgery which are Holyfix, LON and PRECICE 2.2 and PRECICE STRYDE. Prices of single operation are 15.000 eur, 20.000 eur, 40.000 eur and 71.000 euro respectively for each method.
These costs include:
meeting patients at the airport and transportation to hotel/hospital
accommodation i a 5-star hotel (1-3 days)
an English-speaking caretaker who will be around 7/24
Istanbul tour (historical and touristic places+boat tour+meals in our famous restaurants)
Medical examinations before operation
Walker+crutches+wheelchair
Transportation to airport when leaving
FREE consultation with doctors and consultants whenever you need, even after lengthening is finished"
-
There is no way to sign up this miraculous health insurance, do the treatment with Dr Rozbruch and than cancel it?
-
Someone did a consultation with Dr. Parihar. Any idea about price there?
-
LL friends and Team, probably this is the last time I will harp on this (because I am fed up with people propagating misinformation with half cooked data/from something they heard form somewhere without actually communicating with surgeon) - Rozbruch's cost is around $125k and the insurance thing (reducing cost to half) begin discussed is a plain and simple lie/misinformation, so do not live in wonderland and waste your time discussing something that does not exist. done.
-
ShortLivesMatter and I will be Dr. Rozbruch upcoming patients so I guess we can give some update on the surgery costs once we get the surgery done in nearby future.
The reason why there is this mention of "half cost surgery" is because Dr. Rozbruch will initially give you a quote for just surgical fee of ~$75k after your first consultation. The hospital bill will be billed (billed by HSS facility, not Rozbruch office?) to you after the surgery is done. It seems like hospital is indeed being covered for by insurance as a few of past Dr. Rozbruch patients have pointed out, and I hope it still remains true till now.
I am still uncertain as to how much I will be paying ultimately, since I have some hopes that my medical condition which have studies that indicate being a cause of short stature will result in better insurance claims on some of the expenses. Anyway I agree that one should always be prepared financially for surgery like this.
-
I've been contacted by quite a few members asking about when Dr. Parihar, or the Indian market in general, will have the STRYDE nail. Believing this market will offer the lowest prices. The math says the Indian market will not be able to offer much lower prices than already exist in Europe with Dr. Giotikas.
The reason why is the STRYDE nail is $40-$45k U.S. Dollars for two nails. Tibia nails are slightly more expensive than femur nails. Then you have to add on tariffs/taxes that the Indian government imposes on imported medical devices. After the tariffs/taxes are added, just the price of the nails will be ~$50k.
Dr. Giotikas is already offering STRYDE lengthening for ~$50k, including physical therapy. So unfortunately, waiting until Dr. Parihar, or the overall Indian market offers STRYDE, is not going to lead to any significant cost savings.

I've received quite a few questions about the following topic. That topic is "What doctors allow me to lengthen at home with STRYDE?" It's easier to just post the answer here in this thread, rather than answering each message individually. Keep in mind that all doctors suggest you stay in the immediate area for the first two weeks after surgery.
The answer to this question depends on where you live. If you live in the U.S. or Canada, and you are considering the doctors in the U.S., then all the doctors allow you to lengthen at home, even Dr. Paley.
Having said that, Dr. Paley strongly prefers that you stay in Florida for the duration of your lengthening, but if you discuss this option with him during your consultation and he feels you are responsible enough to continue your physical therapy on your own and return every 2 weeks for x-rays, he might allow you to lengthen at home. It's completely at his discretion. You'll receive a pro rated refund on the physical therapy if you are allowed to lengthen at home. Dr. Debiparshad also issues a pro rated refund on physical therapy if you lengthen at home.
Dr. Donghoon Lee allows you to lengthen at home if you are a local patient. Thereby, paying the surgery only price. International patients stay at his clinic as part of his 90 day all inclusive package price.
Dr. Kohne is reported to allow his European patients to lengthen at home.
Dr. Giotikas seemed open to the idea for his European/North African/Southwest Asian patients, depending on how his initial patients respond to lengthening with STRYDE. So i'll classify him as TBD.

Hi Leggs
Thanks for the great information!!
-
Hey, is stryde nail lighter or heavier than precice?
-
Should be heavier because it is partly steel.

His office actually told me it's fine to post prices he shared with me. Feel free to verify with this office directly. I was given this info April 17th. I didn't ask to clarify if the extra $5k for Stryde was bilateral or not. Either way, quite a big difference from the last set of numbers provided.

Anyone considering surgery with Dr. Mahboubian should be very cautious regarding what they will actually end up paying for STRYDE. Since only March of this year three different prices have been quoted to three different people with a price difference of $25,000 for femur or tibia lengthening and an unbelievable $40,000 price difference for combined femur and tibia lengthening.
If you have seen Dr. Mahboubian's website and marketing material you should not surprised by this tactic...

Would it be wise to wait for Dr. Birkholtz to offer stryde? Out of all the doctors, which doctor would be the way to go (including the ones not listed and those who don't yet have Stryde - assuming they will some time later) for:-
a) Someone not able to afford the top dogs (Rozburch, Paley e.t.c) - cost is a factor.
b) Is able to afford - cost isn't a factor.

Mahboubian has produced the same results as these two other doctors, and I'd say is at par with them when it comes to CLL, why do you think he's a rip off lol, it's US service bro! I'm not in affiliation or advocating for Mahboubian but I'm just saying. He is cheaper now though
-
I got the same email with reduced / new 2019 prices for STRYDE/PRECICE just last week. But now that I see Leggs post ....
-
In a perfect world, I think the majority of us would prefer to have it done in the US but the prices there are insanely high to the point where it only makes sense if you already live there. The price point for which Giotikas is offering stryde is very reasonable and Greece is a very liveable country for the duration of lengthening.

Dr. Giotikas is a great example of affordable lengthening in a highly developed country by a competent surgeon. It's not a matter of if, but only a matter of time now before Dr. Giotikas has a flood of patients lengthening with STRYDE. His price & included service is unmatched. I hope you post your experience.
-
100% agreed. It seems that he is becoming very popular on this forum so it’s only a matter of time before he is up there with the more well known Dr’s like Paley, Rozbruch etc in terms of popularity. I will be keeping a detailed diary of my experience and will hopefully do the surgery at a similar time to others planning to go with Dr. Giotikas as I will be in Greece on my own.
-
I had a positive opinion about Giotikas, but I'm skeptic now after what happen with Jolien. He didn't notice her lack of callous till she lengthened almost 5cm

Is it possible to get insurance coverage with any other doctor? Aside from Rozbruch?
-
It looks like the ... USA .. doctors are more appealing ... but more expensive than the others ..
But the amount of experience they have reflects on there price ..
If I was going to do any .. surgery.. it will have to be any 3 of these??? .. Rozbruch... Paley.. or

Is it possible to get insurance coverage with any other doctor? Aside from Rozbruch?
CLL is not covered by insurance. With any of the United States CLL Doctors, you will pay approximately $75-$100,000. You must also consider the cost of supplies, accommodations, prescriptions, etc.
Most insurance will cover (with Co-Pay) Physical Therapy, Prescriptions, Anesthesia, and perhaps some of the hospital services; but these benefits will not bring you below the above-expected costs for cosmetic limb lengthening.
With this in mind, the internal Stryde nail being used by what I would consider excellent US surgeons, Paley, Rozbruch, and Mahboubian is currently a world class standard. Strongly consider spending the money, finding the money, or borrowing the money to have the procedure done by one of these 3 surgeons in the United States. $100,000 is not that much money when considering the decades you have to make up those costs. My opinion, only.
Let me know if you have any questions.

This is so blatantly false that you could have also written "The sun revolves around the earth" and all the statements would have the same amount of accuracy...

Dr. Donghoon Lee is expecting to have STRYDE available in 3-4 months. Prices have not yet been determined, more information to come as it becomes available. Reminder, Dr. Donghoon Lee offers an all inclusive 90 day package price to his international patients.

Why is this false? Sorry I'm curious...

Parihar prices are going to be much cheaper than mentioned. 45-50k
(First time user here.)
How do you know that Parihar's price will be between 45k-50k? I've heard that our government levies huge taxes on imported medical equipments.

Hey guys any idea when the stryde nails would be available in India had been deliberately waiting since long please let know if any update

It is already available in india.

How can the doctor seemingly not make any profit on the procedure, as well as the clinic?

Doctor Giotikas is the best / safest option but just like the rest of these egotistical doctors.... that price will probably be 75k by the time im ready to do this

Anyone know what insurance Rozbruch takes to get it down to 50-55k

If I understood your point correctly, you have to be joking - for instance, there's a factor of inflation. On top of the doctor/clinic not making much profit due to the material costs incurred
Secondly, this is all a very sensitive topic and least to say we, as the patients, are the ones who are doing this just so we can be "a better version of ourselves" - how is it not egotistical from our side? The least we can do is pay a full price for a reputable doctor than, for example, go to India and likely developed complications, whining after
Just a couple of humble thoughts

Pili is doing this surgery for about 55-60k with Stryde, I met at least 3 patients having this procedure with him.
Considering he is one of the most experienced it is quite a good price.

I did it with him and it costed me around 58.000 at a Milano hospital. He also operates in a small city nearby (Lecco) where the cost would be a bit lower.
We can add to the list 55.000 at Lecco hospital, or 60.000 at Milano hospital. Mine was femur, not sure tibia is same.

Actually I wasn't joking and maybe you are an undercover doctor/PR Strategist for one of the surgeons but you can take your humility and send it elsewhere. I am not concerned with your opinion of the surgery, why someone would get this surgery, or the $ hospitals are 'depending upon'. Cosmetic LL is only a segment of profit that these surgeons make. They are not there to rake in millions and millions of dollars, they are there to help other. Height neurosis is a medical health condition with incredibly damaging impacts that you clearly are not impacted by because if you were you would have more compassion for thee incredibly difficult amount of resources and strength something like this takes. It isn't to be the "best version of ourselves" it is to be the only version of ourselves. This is a mental health crisis for so many and a daily strain.

Hi yesterday I had a visit with pili for surgery on the femurs. Can you tell me if everything went well? Did you have a lot of pain? How long did it take to recover? Thanks for the reply
