Hello Guys. Finally im going to have this surgery with Dr Monegal in september. I know that CLL exists since 11 years ago. When there was very little information and a few diaries in the net. At that moment i havent had the money to afford the procedure but i was always thinking that some day i will do it. Now the time has come and its time to get taller! Im 165 at the moment and my goal is 7cm.
I have always been the short guy. Since school years when i was the second shortest guy in a class of more than 20 children. Height has been a big handicap in my life. It makes you harder in dating and people dont take you as seriously as they take the average or tall guys , i expect to change this and be more comfortable with my self. Dont look to a mirror and see a very short guy any more :D.
Im scared of fat embolism when performing bilateral femurs. This is very rare to happen but if it happens it could be a big problem, so i talked with Dr Monegal and he will decide if we do both femurs at the same time or only one during surgey looking at how i am at that moment. Hope all goes well and we could do both, because it will be much better for me but health is the first important thing.
I think that i have taken a good decision going to dr Monegal and doing internals. For a big period of time i was thinking that i was going to do LON but femurs will look better than tibias on me and i want to aboid external fixator in femurs. Another important thing is that i think that people who does internal femurs recover much better than those doing LON in tibias.
I have been in the forum since two years and talking with Dr Monegal since one year ago. He replied my emails very fast and has been very supportive.
I will keep you guys informed about how all goes. And i need your support in this long journey that is going to start soon :)
Cheers KrP1

I look forward to your diary and best of luck of course.
Hopefully it'll change your life for the better.

Hey Roommate! ;D
Looking forward to finally seeing you in person. Let me know if you have any logistics questions. By the way, if your laptop power cord is a bit short remember to bring an extension cord and a universal socket adaptor!

All the best, man. :D

Very happy the time has finally come for you man. Best of luck to you! :)

Today i have taken a plane flight to barcelona. I arrived at the airport in the afternoon. I took the bus to plaza catalunya .The price of the tiket was around 6 euros. In that place i took the subway to the nearest station to my hotel. Now im in my room listening to some motivational music for my surgery tomorrow ;D . So much time wanting to do this and now im only some hours away from it 8)

All the best, good luck man

I remember this part was so scary for me when I was at the plane... I wasn't so motivated and ready as you were. I hope everything goes well! Keep us updated :)
-
You made a very good choice. Dr. Monegal is (maybe together with Dr. Birkholtz) the best budget internal option out there. I've met him myself in Barcelona last month to discuss my complications. He is very professional and knows a lot about LL. Good luck on your way to become taller!
-
Thank you very much guys.
Emanuel hope you get better soon buddy.
Tonight i have sleept for about 4 hours or a little less. The bed of my hotel room ( not mics apartments ) was pretty bad.
I havent drunk or eaten anything since dinner to have my stomach empty before surgery. and Now im at Clinica Diagonal waiting for my hospital admission

Heyyyy... so u decided to do internal femurs. Congratulations on your decision. Im so happy for you. .take care and good luck..KirP1
-
Hello my brother, son of another mother! !
Good luck mr kirp:) you are probably sleeping or in pain post op. Call me asap. Good vibes! Im always here for you, you know that.
-
Are Doing something about your complicationa with him?
I had a surgery to fix complications 2,5 weeks ago (with another doctor, but I am sure Dr. Monegal would have been a good choice too).
Anyway, I don't want to hijack KrP1's diary, it's about his LL!

Hey guys!!
I had my surgery yesterday and im doing really well and without pain! The medication they give you after surgery maintains your pain level almost non existant . so i had a good night.
I had epidural anesthesia with sedation and i hightly recomend it. I was sleeping during all the surgery.
Dr Monegal told me that the surgery went perfect! He did surgery on both femurs without any problem so im very happy with how all is going .
Im very motivated to achieve my goals!! So lets go!

Glad to hear you're doing well, see you soon!

That's awesome dude! I was wondering when you were going to go get it done! I thought you weren't gonna be able to do it this year but I guess not; what circumstances allowed you to go through with this? I'm happy the surgery went well for ya and hope you have a good time. My best regards!

Money and can take time out of my job are the reasons to do it now and not before

May I ask you how old you are?
I wish you the best of luck with everything!
-
I prefer not to tell it to keep my privacy. Cheers

Wow, crazy that there are telescopic nails inside those legs! Congratulations!

All the best! Looking forward to reading more. ;D

I slept around 6/7 hours this night then in the morning an assistant of the clinic came to my room with my breakfast and a letter with diferent menus to choose. it reminds me like been in a restaurant hahaha.
I told her the one i want for lunch and for dinner.
At middle morning a physioterapist of the clinic came to my room with a Kinetec machine. I did Physioterapy with it for half of an hour in each leg. Then in the afternoon i had another PT session. I can feel how my legs are more relaxed after the sessions.

Hey KrP1, how is your pain level?
Did you get rid of that disgusting catheter thing?
-
Hey KrP1, how is your pain level?
Did you get rid of that disgusting catheter thing?
Pain level from 0 to 10 for me is like 2 . I think that the epidural help a lot with this.
The catheter is not a big deal . I have a little discomfort with it . but The nurses will propably get it out tomorrow
-
Today one nurse took my epidural and the catheter out. The epidural definitely makes your pain almost non existent. Pain level is about 3 now so it increased a little but i have not had much pain during this process as pain meds are doing well their job.

Yesterday was my last day at the Clinic .
Dr Monegal has been a very caring doctor. Caming to see me allways that he could. Even some days twice.
He came to my room with the fitbone console and teached me how to use it. I put an stetoscope in my legs and i could hear the device working when it was distracting.
I didnt felt anything in my legs at that moment but to know that i was a litttle bit taller was a really great feeling.
Then i left the Clinic and came to mics sant jordi in an adapted taxi.
My apartment is very clean . Modern and has all the facilities for a person that is doing this. The personal is really pleasant and they helped me in things that are difficult now . One example is that my movile phone fell to the floor in a place where i could not get it. Then i called them from my room to help me. This is a 24 hours care service that they have for handicaped people.
The other patients in mics came to my apartment and we have been talking about our experiences. It is great to be with more people doing the same of you.
This night i can feel the tension in my legs muscles. Its the feeling of the stretching for the lengthening. but what a great feeling ;).
Cheers KrP1

Hello, KrP1.
How is everything going? Pain-wise
-
Hello, KrP1.
How is everything going? Pain-wise
Hey! . Have been having more pain for a couple of days after a hard stretching session with the personal trainer that Dr.Monegal has for our recovery. I have been talking with him to reduce the intensity of the stretches And im doing fine right now. Im sleeping around 7 hours or more per day and dont feel much tension in my legs. The rate of lengthening is 0.82mm/day by de moment so i will be around 1cm taller at the end of the day.
-
Dr. Monegal does seem like a great doctor. How much would you rate the pain out of 10?
-
Dr. Monegal does seem like a great doctor. How much would you rate the pain out of 10?
Pain after surgery . First 3 days with epidural -----> 2
Pain days 3/7 after epidural removal ---------> 3
Pain day 8 to this moment except the couple days i have said--------->2
This is when you dont move your legs that is the most of time. If you move them like doing exercises or bending you get more pain
-
I hit 1cm of lengthening yesterday.
Today doctor monegal came to my apartment to remove the stitches.
Im really impressed. He did a very good job with my scars and i think that them would not be noticeable after the hairs grow.
One thing i want to clarify about pain. It seems from what i have writed that this process isnt painful but thats not well explained.
Most of the time you will be at a pain level of 2 because you are going to be in bed or sit but you will have peaks of pain when you move your legs simply because them are broken so its evident that it is going to hurt .dont expect this to be a walk in the park.
-
8) wow Bro!! finally you have made it am so happy for you
-
Get to read my first diary as it happens... You're the star of this show KrP1. Relish in the moment :)

nice hair, keep (it) growing ;)
you're right, scars hardly noticeable!
do you guys hang out together very often at mic?

Today i have been having lunch with other patients. i speak with them almost every day but not for too long . Days goes fast and im most of the time in my room and in the gym
-
Your scars are barely noticeable. Let the lengthening begin!
-
Very clean scars, nice.
-
dont expect this to be a walk in the park.
I'm glad you clarified that because judging from what you are saying, it does seem like a walk in the park. Your pain levels are low if they are just 2 and 3. I was expecting a 7 or an 8. And other sorts of problems.
What are the difficulties?
-

You will definitely feel that 7 or 8 when you move your legs.
Difficulties are that im in a wheelchair and cant bend my knees more than 90 degrees so things that i could do easily before like get dress or take a shower now are difficult and needs much more time ,Pain and tension in your legs are the other difficulties.
-
Update
Im at 1.7cm right now. still doing 0.8mm per day. Tryed one day to do 1mm but it was definitely too much for me. After i did that i was awake almost all night because of the tension in my legs.I fell better at this rate by the moment.
I cant notice yet the difference in lenght of my femurs. I think i should notice after 2.5/3cm of distraction but i dont really know because is difficult when you see them every day and almost every moment.
Im improving in my training sessions . I have been doing bicycle the last four days and today was my first day in the swimingpool. I have been walking in the water and it feels weird but deffinitely its a good experience to walk unnaided when you have been the last 3 weeks in a wheelchair and its a good training to get strength.
The last week my pain increased. Im at a constant 3 maybe 4 some nights. And i feel more tension in my legs making my nights harder and reducing my sleep hours.
Dr Monegal will come to do my xrays today so i will see how all is going.
Cheers KrP1
-
I feel so happy for you everytime I read your update. I m glad u made the right choice.
Keep in mind that those pain and discomfort are sooooo unreal compared to those of externals you had been considering lately. They will all be gone as soon as ur lenghtening is done too. Keep it up friend.

Yeah. Thank you very much.Definitely this is less painfull and more comfortable than having external fixators in femurs .you have been so brave doing it. Hoppe you recover early and feel happy with your new life because you deserve it beautiful doll.
This is a long and hard journey but is something i know since the begining and i was prepared for it.
I feel happy that im finally changing my height so i dont feel depressed at any time. I feel really good imagining how my life is going to be when i get my target height and recovered ;D
-
Thank you. I m also looking forward to the day your dream is fulfilled and share your happiness my Fri.
-
Dr Monegal finally didnt came today to do my xrays. Hope we can do it tomorrow.
-
Sorry. Raining hard in Barcelona. I want patients to be safe all-time.
Maybe tomorrow afternoon If It doesn t rain!
Keep It going KirP1! ;)

It's so much fun that dr. Monegal is joining us on the forum.

It's so much fun that dr. Monegal is joining us on the forum.
On one hand it is good, but did you also think about the patient being able to say the whole truth about the doctor and the process?
Maybe the patient will keep bad things about the doctor or complications for himself because he knows that the doctor reads in here.
The patient is dependent on the doctor and needs him. Probably the patient is more careful what he is saying about him.
Imagine the patient has a problem and thinks it is the doctors fault. Would he say that in here although he knows that the doctor would be angry with him? Would you want your doctor that has to fix complications and is responsible for your health to be angry with you? Just something to think about...

True but patients could come out with the truth after the process is over.

how are things krp1?

Xrays shows an increase of around 2.2cm

congrats on your progress. you have reached one fourth of the way :-)
how is pain / discomfort now?
-
you can see a nice cloud starting to form in the bone gap...... congrats KrP1
-
congrats on your progress. you have reached one fourth of the way :-)
how is pain / discomfort now?
3 during the day and 4 at night but Im feeling a burning sensation in the tibia since i hit 1.9/2cm that causes a lot of discomfort. It is position dependant . In some possitions i dont feel it .and i think that is caused by nerve stretching . But yesterday and today this has been getting better and i havent felt it too much
-
Great progress so far KrP1.
I was wondering what the recovery path is like for the Fitbone--am deciding between Birkholtz or Monegal. I read in another diary that you can have a titanium sheet inserted into the Fitbone for greater weightbearing during the consolidation phase. Is that an option with Monegal?
-

That would be amazing if it were an option!

I dont know about that option. Doctor Monegal could tell you about that. But i have seen people doing full weightbearing during consolidation with fitbone and without any problem.
-
Hi KrP1.
Did Dr. Monegal insert the fitbone retrograde (from the knee)? Rather than anterograde (from the hip)?
If so, what do you think about risks of knee pain and patellofemoral arthritis from the drilling of the femur around the kneecap?
-

Yes doctor Monegal insert the fitbone by retrograde.
I dont think that knee pain is going to be an issue because dr Monegal aboid to cause damage in the patellar tendon.
For what i have been talking with him there is no risk of patellofemoral arthritis.
-
Im at 4cm now so i only need 3cm more to get my goal.
When i look my self at the mirror i can see the difference with before but not a very big difference . I think that when i hit the 6cm mark this will be much more noticeable
-
cool.
we're both the same height with the same goal, I'm at 6cm now.
do you know what your final bone length will be in femur and tibia, it's just that most short men have really long femur to begin with, if i had long tibia i would do femurs, but it's the opposite way around for me.
-
cool.

Tibia 36.5cm. Femur... it depends from where you measure. If i measure from the top of the head of the femur 44.5
-
wow thats wierd so originally there was only 4cm between your tibia and femur before your operation?
good choice on doing femur then as otherwise you could only do 4cm on tibs.
i had 9cm so i am lucky to be able to do tibia.
-
Tibia 36.5cm. Femur... it depends from where you measure. If i measure from the top of the head of the femur 44.5
So your femurs had a length of only 38.5cm's? That's really short. So your new ratio might be closer to the 0,8\1 than your old one.
-
Hahaha. No . This measurements are pre-op . So femur length will be 51.5cm.
My ratio was 0.82 before surgery if the femur is measured from the top of its head or 0.85 (43cm) if measured from the center of the head.
So my tibia was longer in proportion before lengthening.
-
oh right so you had 8cm between them, so now there will be 15cm post op.
-
Yesterday i went with Dr Monegal to do new Xrays. Everything was ok and i could see good bone callus formation.
When i stood up near Dr Monegal i could clearly see that there was a diference in height with before. I told him that he has shrunk hahaha. Im at 4.5cm now.
-
Hi KrP1,
I am very glad tho listen you your new height.
How is the pain?
you are on a wheelchair or in chutches??
I am going to visit Dr Monegal the next Monday. If you need anything let me know.
Goog luck.

1- pain is similar to what i have said in other posts. Every week apears and dissapears new kinds of pain. You need to be prepared to have constant pain during all the lengthening.
2- im in wheelchair

constant pain even while simply chilling by the pool, not stretching, or distracting?

Maybe pain is not the best word. But a constant discomfort.
Distracting is not painfull. I dont feel any pain when i distract, only that some time later i feel more tension in my legs.
-
Thank you for sharing your diary
What rate are you lengthening per day?
Are you staying at MICs past two months
-
Thank you for sharing your diary

Im lengthening at 0.8 . My body doesnt tolerate more than that very well. Even at that rate i stopped the lengthening for three days beause the discomfort in my legs was getting very big. Now after that im lengthening again and doing better. 5cm right now.
I will return home after two months at MICs
-
Dont give up!!!
What are the worst moments in cm? all the people talk about 6 cm.
Others tell that in 2 cm there is a increase in the pain too.

I really think that people cares to much about pain during lengthening or inmediately post op. Its obious that you are going to feel some pain. You are going to have a major surgery but This is not the important thing... for me the real important thing is to dont have any kind of pain or limitation after i finish my consolidation. Chronic pain is the worst thing a person could have in his life.
Its normal to feel pain after surgery but this will be treated with pain meds and is very bearable.
During lengthening from 1cm to 5cm for me has been about the same. With diferent kinds of pains that start and gone And constant tension in my legs. The first month is obiously more painful because the surgery is more recent but you arent going to feel inmense pain at any stage.
-
yesterday i left the MiCs, after two months living there. I have had a great time with the other Dr.Monegal Patients and they have become my new friends. MiCs apartments are very well adapted for people in our situation. The gym and the swimming pool with hot water is essential for our recovery. The last weeks, i really enjoyed to go to the swimmingpool almost every day , to walk and do stretches. I recomend to everyone to stay in MiCs during all the lengthening or at least for two months like i did. Its important to be with persons that are doing the same as you and to be near Dr.Monegal during this stage. The saddest part was to left there my new friends.
Im at 5.6cm now so im in the final lap . Only 1.4cm more to finish my lengthening :)
-
I agree. Temporary pain isn't a big deal unless it's absolutely excruciating and drives you insane. Long term pain is a much bigger problem. And congratulations, KrP1. Good going.
-
Congratz om 5,6cm, that must be a good feeling being 5,6cm taller!
Good luck with your last 1,4cm.. Or maybe more, you never know 8)
Will you go home for the last 1,4cm lengthening or will you stay at another place close to the clinic?
-
I have rented an apartment near my fathers house, so they can take care of me. Im not in their house because it has a lot of stairs and there is no lift.
-
keep on fighting!!!
You are lengthening on a ratio of 0,08 mm/day. In a few days you have reached the goal.
is it the pain worst in the final cm?
Good travel to your country. :)
-
Im going to start doing 1mm and see how it goes.
No. For me now is less painfull. Its less painfull since i did the break of three days in my lengthening.
-
Hey KrP1 !
Glad to hear everything is fine with you bro! Yes, leaving MICs was hard for me, too.. Miss those times just lounging around in the pool with you and chatting about LL, hahaha.
Take care, and good luck with the final lengthening!
-
Come on! I know you're lying....
I know that you miss me more than KrP1 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ::)
-
Haha She knows who the true alpha male is ;D
-
HHAHAHAHA I knew you were going to say that! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Im at 6.5cm now. From 5cm to now the lengthening has been very easy . I dont feel much tension and i dont need any pain meds.
Im doing intensive stretching 3 times/day . Walk and swim in the swimingpool every other day. And bicicle for 15 minutes every day.
Im still in the wheelchair.
Proportions look fine now but for what i can see im near the limit.
-
I have finished my lengthening at 6.7cm
I have decided to not do any more because my femurs look long right now and i care about proportions and aesthetics.
The change in height is very noticeable. I can compare my self with my family and them and i could see that im much taller than before.
Im doing very well right now. I use the walker to move in my home. Now its time to recover. :)
-
Congrats! Great to hear you're doing well, buddy! You're almost at the finish line, just need to recover. I'm so happy for you. Time goes really fast when you start using the walker and crutches.
-
Congrats, I commend and congratulate your achievement and decision to stop at 6.7 for proportion sakes. At your current height you're in a good position anyways; you might be considered short but you're no longer objectionably short and are taller then most girls now.
But this also begs the question from me, would the extra .3 cm be noticeable in this regard or was it just like "eh I'm close enough and rather not continue"?
Either way congrats.
-

I think that the 0.3 mm arent going to change my height in anything. No one can notice that. But im at a point where i dont want my femurs to look any longer. 0.3mm will be much more noticeable in the femurs than in my total height. So it is not worth it.
Cheers
-
Congratulations buddy. Very happy for you. Now just focus on recovery. Recovery is very annoying and it's going to feel like it's taking a lot longer than it should...but take it from me, recovery WILL happen, and you may not get a "full" recovery until the rods and screws are taken out (for example, my left hip/glute medius pain and very slight hip sway won't resolve until the nails are taken out).
Just hang in there for now, and don't do anything stupid :)

Hello KrP1,
Believe it or not, I only discovered your diary right now! I asked Glenn to confirm who you are. :)
I am very happy about your completion; it feels sentimental to observe my fellow lengtheners terminate their experience too. We are the graduating class of Autumn 2015. ;D
Be Well,

Update
I continued my lengthening. The gap finally shows an increase of 7.8 and 7.6cm. You have to discount the magnification of the xrays . It is supposed to be around 7%.
I have very good callus formation and In my opinion if your bone is hard the fitbone has difficulties to lengthen and maybe it will not get the full 1mm per day. I dont really know if this is the way it is in reality but is my personal opinion so i can be wrong. I say this because finally i had to do more lengthening than the gained amount.
Im 172cm from my measurements when i wake up inmediately from bed. So my gained height is something between 6.5 and 7cm.
Im in the consolidation phase and 4months and ten days post op.
I have been walking unaided for around 10 days know.
My walking is improving but it is not normal yet. It is slowly than it was before surgey because i have muscle tension but i think that its good for a little more than 4 months post op with the amount i lengthened.
Im working hard in my recovery stretching 4 times per day ,doing elliptica and some exercises to get more strenght.
Cheers KrP1

5 months post op.
Hey guys! New update at 5 months post op. Im doing great . I can walk long distances now without getting tired. My walking is not 100% normal now but is improving and most people will not notice the limping when you are walking in the street. I can see how it changes for the better. The principal problem to walk 100% normal is muscle tension. It needs time for the muscles to adapt to its new length. But i could notice how this is happening because now my legs are more relaxed than 3 weeks ago.
Going upstairs is dificult but i can do it . Going down stairs is the most dificult thing.
I dont have any pain now. And im doing relatively normal life. Im very confident that im going to recover to a good point in the next months.
Cheers

post videos walking
i'm a tough skeptic.
doesn't have to be using stairs.... but walking at a normal speed, and try at a fast speed... can block out face
going down stairs is hard for everyone... it's ridiculous how long it takes to start doing that again
-
Normal speed is fine with little limping. Fast speed is still very dificult . I think that you need to be 100 x 100 to walk very fast
-
yes... thats the problem though
will we ever be able to go at a fast speed????
when not 100%, walking is a chore... walking 2 miles is not fun when you cant walk fast
-
Congrats man! Thanks for sharing, nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
At what point were you completely pain free?

About 3 weeks post lengthening my muscles relaxed to a point where i dont feel disconfort.
Real pain is the first month after surgey when you move your legs. After that is more a big discomfort due to stretching.

Thanks! Hope you don't mind me asking, how was your flexibility a month post lengthening? And now? Can you touch your bottom with your feet?

I did never do that exercise.
Pre op i had good flexibility because i was preparing my self for the surgery for a lot of months.
One month post lengthening my flexibility was clearly less than before surgery.

How are you buddy!!! how is your recovery?? :)

Same as my last update. Nothing new

Have you done any progress in walking down/upstairs?
Are you able to live in your parents house now or do you still live in your rented house?
Can you jump softly up and down? Can you do squats without weight extra weight? Can you run slow for like 50 meters?
Congratz on your new length!!!
How much does it cost to take out your nail? And when will you do that?

Hey! Yes i have done some progress . I can go upstairs easy. Downstais is more difficult , i can do it but if some one looks at me doing it , he is going to notice that i have problems to do it.
I can walk fast now.
I didnt try to run , jog or jump. I think it could be risky and that i could cause some damage if i do it.
Im living alone.
I can do squats without extra weight but i cant go as down as before without loss of stability.
I have done x-rays some.days ago and everything looks ok. No problems.
For nail removal i will wait at least one year and a half or two years. I dont want to risk any fracture.
Cheers

Well done!!!!
I am very glad for you ;)

Hi KrP1
I am glad you are progressing.
If I may ask, how much time it took you from the start of walking to the point of walking normally?
Also, did you improve your walking following a certain routine /exercise?

KrP1
Hope you are doing great!
Above you mentioned that gap was less than it should be according to clicks, right?
I am asking because this is what happend to me and 3 other patients undergoing lengthening at the same time.
It is no problem, but it is something everyone should be aware of!
It seems to us, that the more bone formation we have the bigger the difference. For example, at the beginning x-rays matched what I had calculated by the clicks. But lately the gap has become larger. Now I am at 6,3 cm according to clicks and according to x-rays only 5 cm.
Can you confirm something similar?
-
I lengthened At 0.8mm then It happened what you have Said. At this.rate if you had good Bone formation you Will preconsolidate at around 6cm. if you are turning at less than 0.8 It could happen earlier.
My advice IS to lengthen in doctor Mode (seems to have more potencie) because in my experience It helped me to obtain some mm more and a Big amount. Like 1.5 per day for some days. measure your gap or height to see if you are growing or its too late. In my opinion when the Bone IS getting harder you lengthen less than what you think. So 0.8 could be much less. Speed up your lengthening now if you want to continúe lengthening. Thats My advice.

1.5MM seems excessive for soft tissue. I'd prefer to reach 6CM at 0.8 per day, optimally slightly slower than to sacrifice soft tissue health and elasticity for extra gain. A second osteotomy would be preferential to over lengthening - soft tissue damage isn't reversible.

I think that when this happen you dont obtain the full 1.5mm. you Will know It because you arent going to have the same pain as what you are expecting to have if you are really doing 1.5. obiously if you start to be in much pain slow It again.
-
Great! Thanks for fast reply! I apreciate it!
I tend to agree with 682, I am also afraid of more than 3 clicks session per day.
So I have lengthened slowly, 5 cm over 3,5 months. But every time I was close to consolidation and the screws would not longer turn, I would switch to doctor mode and break the resistance, just as you described!

Were you 165 cm in the morning or afternno? Before ll

Hi, my friend, how are you?

Hello,
I've just read your diary and it sounds awesome.
How are you so far? Are you able to run, and do anything you could before LL with no discomfort at all?
Best Regards

Hi. Yes . I can run fast, jump and do everything. I only feel some disconfort in the knees if i kneel like doing squats or lunges in the gym. But it´s only that, discomfort. So im very happy with the outcome.
Regarding to height, i feel much better than before, but im still in the short side so im not happy at all. Maybe some day i would do tibias too...
-
Thanks for the answer! I'm pretty sure you already knew how much it would mean to me!
On a scale of 10, how good do you think your athlethic agility is according to your pre-op lvl?
So, the only thing changed in your body is that now you have longer femurs, is that all? Are you able to balance very well?
Best Regards!
-
And sorry, forgot to ask,
Don't misunderstand me please, I really do respect you and I'm so damn glad for you. You did your best to achieve your dream. You are a brave person.
That is being said, may I ask why do you still use the forums? Considering tibia and trying to get more info etc.?
Best Regards, again

Yes. Dr Monegal removed the nails. The recovery was very fast. I was walking like in a week.

My athletic agility is less than before the surgery, but its something that you could notice only when very demanding sports like football or basket. if it was 10 before, now its maybe 7. I dont notice it in my daily life as i dont usually do that kind of sports.

Another thing is that i like to help other people by sharing my experience.
