Title: 4 cm external tibias proportions
Post by: Zyker on January 07, 2017, 06:50:55 PM
Do you think with 4 centimeters my proportions will still good? On several photos, also with more lengthening the legs do not seem so long!!! I would do my lengthening with Solomin or Mitkovic next year ;)

Did you photoshopped your photo to add that 4cm already or not?

A picture of you altered using programs like Photoshop showing your body with more height.
Is your body height in the picture of your first post 172cm, or 176cm?

You have pretty long legs, what's your inseam?

Yes, you indeed seem to have quite long legs already.
If you want to do 4cm, go for femur. This should look better on your legs, but your hands will be further away from your knees.
But I don't think it would be obvious to regular (untrained) people  :)

About 84 cm. But I do not know if I measured well!

I Thought to internal femurs, but is much more expensive compared to external tibias  :'(

Don't get carried away with proportions

It's quite weird, i would have such an inseam after 11cm of lengthening.
I think you should be fine with small amounts, you have pretty long arms aswell.

Just out of curiosity, whats your sitting height and arm length?

I will be doing external femur (monorail LON) very, very soon. I'm prepared for 7/10 pain, but then it's done.

My sitting height is 91 cm. Wingspan 176 cm  :-\ For this I would reach 176 cm!

As i said, you should be fine. Btw we have very similar proportions, my legs are just shorter lol.

Monorail on femur wohoho, prepare your butt son i've seen people wearing those at my local orthopedic centre and well... let's just say they weren't happy lol.

Because of pain or anything else? (don't mean to hijack the thread)

I also heard that the scars with internal femurs are more visible than external tibias.

Pain,i think my doc mentioned the only thing why people decide to pick monorail over ilizarov is better mobility.

People after femur monorail have one huuuuuge scar, it looks rly ugly especially in the first month.

Yup, guilty of wanting more mobility plus they told me that I would probably have to stand while being on the crapper. That made 7/10 pain sound quite appealing to me ;D
And it's going to be a gamble anyway. 7 is average and actually differs from 3 to 10.

I don't know but if ilizarov would be less painful i would pick it anyday...

Besides monorail is famous(or infamous) for being pretty unstable.

Nobody should use monorail ever.

I defiantly think  you should  not exceed 4 cm with monorail especially femur. Curious to see how it goes for you.

You sure you have an inseam of 84cm? Mine is 72-73cm and I am a cm shorter than you

I took more accurately measure and this time is 79-80 cm

You are long legged.. It is even obvious from the pic you posted. You look proportional because beside the long legs, you also have long arms and forearms. To be honest with you, I dont think you are a good candidate for LL... Although 4cms wont be a drastic change, they will still put your inseam to height ratio pretty off.. I would advice you to do pilates or yoga to improve your posture as 1-3cm gain is almost certain for everyone who never did those in their life

edit: I wouldnt lengthen a cm on the tibias though... if you do lengthen, go for femurs

Yes, in fact my legs are already long enough, but my wingspan is 176 cm, so with only 4 cm I would reach the average height and my wingspan both.

I wouldnt lengthen a cm on the tibias though... if you do lengthen, go for femurs

I don't think I will do femurs, I read they are so stressful!

I think you have great proportions & look really good & athletic, but you're not a good candidate for LL as you're legs are already quite long & you are 172cm. What you can gain is nowhere near comparable to what you'd lose by going through this process dude.
