Title: 5'4 to 5'7 (162-170) femur lengthening. good?
Post by: cole slaws on January 24, 2017, 08:05:08 AM
Is it a good idea to go from 162 to 170 cm through internal femur lengthening via dr jamal or dr parihar? Or will I suffer complications like ballerina foot?

Ballerina foot IS a problem when you do tibias.
Will you have complications? Maybe

Knee bending complication is more common with femur lengthening.

You can never say you won't have complications regardless of who the doctor is, there is always a risk, just some more than others. Is Emmanuel's diary on here or the old forum? That's absolutely worth a read if you are thinking of Dr Jamal.

8cm on tibia is not a good idea. Go for max 6cm...

I'm 161cm and aiming for 169-170cm.
I will have all 4 segments (tibia + femur) lengthened.
At first, it was only for aesthetical reasons, but know I'm mainly going to do it because it's much more healthy and way less risky.

Ballerina isn't inevitable. just stand for 15 seconds everyday. but with dr parihar ur more at risk because he doesnt support PT during lengthening. also, really really bad ballerina will need surgery so to me PT is a must

Thanks. So I should aim to stand up for at least 15 secs every day? Im going for 8cm since I cant bear spending 60k to only increase height to 5'6. I want to be 5'7 which is avg male height where I live.

Is it possible to fix ballerina foot once it happens? Or am I basically doomed?

Sure Ill check it out. Im also considering dr parihar since hes more experienced but then again jamal is cheaper and Im not a fan of india.

well ballerina that isnt very serious can be fixed with some PT but if its very bad u have to do  an additional surgery of achilles tendon lengthening. i dont know much on jamal but u shud read up on some parihar diaries if ur considering him still. his very respected here
