Title: Dr. Mitkovic - December 2018 - Group
Post by: DreamOf180cm on January 29, 2017, 10:26:18 PM
Hi everybody. Me and chopsuey are thinking of going to Dr. Mitkovic in December 2018. I know from the last thread that there was quite a few people who were thinking of going to Dr. Mitkovic in 2018. If you're serious about doing LL around this time with mitko, send me a pm with your phone number and I'll add you to our whats app group where we can discuss further in detail.

Hey, I was considering internals with Mitkovic. Do you know if he offers tibia internals? And what's the difference between his and other internals?

I doubt he does internal tibia.

His internal device doesn't go in the bone, it's on the outside of it. That's the main difference I think.

I'm going for external tibias and chopsuey is going for internal femurs.

Wait so his internal goes in your leg but outside the bone? Do you when his internal will be ready?

This is his internals. I'm pretty sure it is ready as in the last email we exchanged, he said that he offers internal too.

Did he say how long consolidation is with this thing? I might skip out on Parihar and go with you in 2018. Do you have link to any information regarding trials with this method?

Have you got more information about weight bearing etc? Im considering doing 5 cm with Dr M but Im not sure how reliable is his device.

If he offers internals I think those nails can be used on tibia, too.

Hey guys, I'm going to go to serbia and do internal femurs and external tibias in 2018 or 2019.
So the topic is perfect for me.
I searched various things about Dr.mitkovic's LL.
I'm Japanese and not well english so I don't know that I understood correctly.
Thus I have things that I want to confirm.

First:
Is the cost of internal or external evenness regardless of the extension?

Second:
Does he deal with internal device now?

Thanks.

Internal costs 16,000 if you use Mitkovic's device, 35,000 (euros) if you use PRECICE. - Yes, he does use an internal device. Do you mean is the cost regardless of the amount extended (i.e. whether you do 4 cm or 7 cm)? If so, yes.

His external device is 9,300 euros.

I asked this in the doctors list part but it may be a better question here - where is this surgery actually performed and which hospital/airport would be best?

Yep, same here. I'm saving up as much money as I can, hoping to do a quick and clean recovery by doing 5cm on tibiae.

Also, I beg all of you to post diaries of this.  ;D

5 cm seems like the safest, fastest length you can do and become close to fully functional. But i'll be shooting for 6-6.5cm... are u in the states mate?

Yeah, I'm from the United States! 6cm or so is starting to seem really appealing now. I've read several diaries and they all report about 2-3mm worth of compression when unlocking the device. So I think lengthening 6cm sounds reasonable considering you might lose a few mm.

Hey, how much would it cost for 3-4inches(9-11cm) I believe. I am American and my lower body is relatively shorter. It's noticeable. Trying to do it next yr. Thanks

What method are you trying to do? You'd want to split that into two segments for sure.

I'm not really sure of the difference amongst the methods and ya 2 segments. 2.5 and 1.5 probably.

Same Here!

Summer 2019 is much more likely for me. When the time nears we should make a "WhatsApp" group and get a team together for summer of 2019.

I have many questions, but one of my main one's is how many scars will I have post tibial (and potentially femoral) lengthening using his external monorail device?

I count around 4-6 one inch linear scars. Internals have scars, but are minimal. Only problem is internals cost a fortune so idk. Dr Mitkovic offers a great deal, so I'm shooting for him summer 2019.

If anyone finds any good diaries on Dr Mitkovic LL and any pictures of patients post LL scars and recovery that would be great if you could share!

It's hard to post diaries because of the awkward reprocussions. I wrote that I don't recommend him and gave some of my experiences to some people here and they promised they would keep their mouth shut one of them relayed it to him which resulted in me hearing back from him. All the bad information from monegal is because of one person putting the effort in to ruin his reputation. I have a life to live and probably come to this forum once a month but I it annoys me how everyone thinks the world of mitkovic despite what he put me through. Btw whoever that idiot was that talked to him ruined it for everyone else because I'm no longer sharing personal details

Mitkovic is a bad case of doctor and the vast majority of his patients had serious complications, mostly maluniins which are caused from the crappy monorail device he uses.

Everyone who wants to do LL with Mitkovic is completely responsible of his possible complications after all we have said here about avoiding that doctor.

All because of wanting to try and save money. I don't know anything about Mitkovic, so I'm speaking in general here. This is a surgery where you will not walk afterwards, if you do it with the worst doctors and devices possible.

To put it another way: would people rather save some money and do heart surgery that they need at a cheap hospital in India they have some vague knowledge of, or in the Cleveland Clinic (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Clinic#Reputation)?

Quadrilateral lengthening

Hey LL community. I’m planning on starting my LL journey in May of 2021, with the goal of 6.25 cm in my femurs and 5.25 in my tibias. Dr mitkovic has recommended I start with tibias and do femurs a month later. My recovery process will be between 7-9 months. Is anyone else considering seeing him during a similar time frame ? Looking for all the support I can get.

UPDATE

He said he'll wait about a month between the surgeries, and I plan to do externals on both my tibias and femurs. Also, my lengthening goals for each segment have changed to 5.5 tibias and 6 femurs, but I'll let the doctor decide what he thinks is best for me. I'm 5'8 flat, so 4.5 inches should get me to about 6'1.
