thats what I was thinking of doing. Furthermore you would also decrease the risk of fat embolism.
I was thinking of spreading the two surgeries by like 3 weeks for internal femur lengthening. Furthermore it will be easy to walk since you can weight bear on one leg
does anybody know if this is possible.

It would be pointless to separate the 2 surgeries by only one week. You will not recover any mobility in such a short period of time in your first leg and it will be in almost the same state as your second.
In 3 weeks for internal femur lengthening with most devices, there is not complete weight bearing, that means that you have to support the nail with your bone formation. With Precise and Fitbone, you have to heal for 2 - 3 months to start using crutches but weight bearing half your weight equally on each leg. So you would end up with one leg which cannot hold your total weight and another the other one which should not weight bear just yet.
Both are the worst ideas ever. Another thing completely is to separate the surgery in 6 months - 1 year like Monegal patients do, that is to some extent a reasonable choice.

you are right.
I am only looking to do 3.5-4 cm. So would separating the surgery by 4 months work?

I don't think it is smart to separate the surgery for a 3.5-4 cm gain. If you do bilateral then you will be done with lengthening in a month and a half and 2 more months and you would probably start walking. I think it is only reasonable to separate the surgery for people who need to work from an office soon after surgery, with a normal-high intended gain, and who have to take care of themselves alone. No one can guarantee that you will heal fast enough to separate it by 4 months but I guess it could be possible. Then again I don't see the point in doing the lengthening for only 3.5 cm.

im 179 cm (180 when I wake up)
so 3.5-4 cm would be huge for me. to reach 183-184 cm would be huge for me

I Know one leg is longer than the other only half centimter
I am thinking of doing the left and then wait for 2 weeks to heal one leg
and after that I do my second surgery with the Right feet
I want to be taller I am not gaining respect from my community because my height
I am not getting good treatment because I am short girl
This surgery will change my life.
if that possible to do one leg and wait till heal and do the other would be perfect andd scary to do two surgery
:( I am not fully sure about this.
-
Also I want my arm to be longer.
with internal fixation I wish They can do this.
-
what height are you? I prefer short girls ;D
-
man, just put on some lifts, you literally have the PERFECT height. 180CM is my goal.

First world problems, my friend...

I just get a little annoyed when these 190cm guys want to be taller, it makes this surgery and forum pointless.

There are 3 reasons for doing it sequentiallly:
1. too avoid fat embolism
2. too have more mobility
3. to have a less intense pain
1. LLSouthAmerica, as a medical student, wouldn't you say that risk is lower, even if separated by 3 weeks?
2. even with Fitbone you can already stand up after 2 weeks and no bone formation (just not walk) and you are faster in wheelchait than on crutches. So only reason is if you have to drive a car during lengthening period or the place where you have to go has no wheelchair accessibility.
3. no true
So if 2 is not important, go bilateral, or seperate by 3 weeks to lower risk of fat embolism.

1. Sure it is lower but is it worth doing another surgery? If you are already separating the surgery I would wait more time so that the first leg is properly consolidated before undergoing the second one. The vast majority of LL doctors do both legs at the same time. Maybe the risk is twice increased because of doing both legs but as fat embolism is a very uncommon complication and I don't know if there has been a death due to fat embolism in CLL, maybe the brute number of people having this complication is so low that most doctors find it negligible. Relative frequency vs absolute frequency.
2. Fitbone is only partial weight bearing so that means you can stand 2 weeks post op but only by equally dividing your weight in both legs AND also helping with your arms. Doing a sequential procedure would help you to be more independent only if the time space is enough that the first leg is recovered to the point of one leg handling your entire weight. So, the reason for doing a sequential procedure is entirely lost in your plan. Wheelchairs suck man, and avoiding them (+being able to work, taking care of yourself)are the only reasons to do a sequential procedure.

I was using FItbone and
I was standing after 2 weeks WITHOUT any arm support.
I was swimming, biking on stationary bike and overtaking the people on crutches in my wheelchair.
Only limitations: no walking, no running, no sports, no putting all weight on one leg.

So you are claiming to be able to walk with aid as soon as 2 weeks with Fitbone? Because if you can stand then by putting all your weight on your arms you could theoretically use a walking frame and not use a wheelchair. This is not the case at all for Fitbone and even the superior Precise nail. Someone told me that Precise users are encouraged to walk but always limiting the weight with their arms.
Swimming, biking do not put weight on your legs, therefore, it is the same even for all nails regardless of weight limit. "overtaking people in your wheelchair" isn't something to be proud about hahaha

I am sorry if I sound rude
but I hope to replie to my topic.

I am not just short
I am very short
below 150 :( :( :(

I hope you reach your dream height

Thank you, have you decided to get the surgery?

I want to think carefully before doing it.
I dont want to be disable after this nor walk for years with crutches
to me very hard.
