My friend told me I could've grown up to 178cm....
I dont know if that is real.I think 165cm is the ultimate limit of my height.

Bs.

Ignore your friend.

See the guy here with a 185cm father and a 170cm mother, and who only grew to 175cm.

No point thinking about it now but I'd say yes.

All the East Asian people I know here in the UK are 5'9+ when none of their parents are over 5'3.

I think it's different if your parents were brought up in a wealthy country though because I imagine the only reason the East Asians here have grown to be so much taller than their parents is because they've had good nutrition whereas their parents didn't.

This is just something i've realised growing up in a multicultural area..that East Asians can grow almost a foot taller than their parents if their parents were born back in China but for South Asians like Indians even if their parents were born back in India but they themselves were born here they still only grow 1-2 inches taller than their dads.

It as if East Asians have a secret tall gene once they have good nutrition. Just look at China and South Korea's average height in 1980s it was 5'2 5'4 now it is 5'9 in 2019. That's only one generation. Meaning all these 5'4 dads produced 5'9 sons.

Definitely, my childhood friend had parents both under 5ft, he has 3 brother and 2 sisters. All the guys grew to be 5'8-5'11 and their sister is 5'6 eventhough their dad is only 4'11.

You can also check the average height for Chinese people, Average height for 18 year old Chinese people in 2016 was 5'9. It might even possibly be 5'10 in 2019. Another fact, East Asia is the fastest growing countries in the world because of the recent wealth and to back up what I was saying about Chinese people having a secret tall gene. Arabs have recently got rich too but in the past 40 years their height only went from 5'4 average to 5'7. Some African countries like Nigeria have become rich too but their average height only went from 5'7 to 5'9 in 25 years. Whereas in China average height from 1980 to 2018 went from 162cm to 176cm (5'2-5'9) and South Korea is even better, went from 159cm in 1980 to 177cm in 2018, a whole 18cm in 1 generation.

There's no way that's the average height in those countries. I've been around a lot of Chinese and South Korean tourists, who are supposed to have even better nutrition, lifestyle, and are on the younger side of their populations.

I'm not sure how to add an image and links aren't allowed? But you can google it, don't check Wikipedia or websites such as that, look for updated 2016+ surveys and researches. All of them will tell you that the Average height is at least 5'8. You can also look for height increase charts and find that East Asia has gained the most height in the past 40 years

5'8 seems accurate for South Koreans. Probably pretty close to 5'9 if you only take men under 22. 5'8 and some change is accurate for young Chinese men from specific regions. However, a 177cm+ (essentially 5'10) average is too much.

Yes 177cm+ is too much. The average height around 18 is only actually 173-175cm.And older one should be lower

I guess you're right but it also depends on which type of Chinese and Koreans you usually meet. Here in the UK they all come from Northern China so I think that's why they're taller, North China average height is 5'10, South China is 5'8

It's just completely impossible that every (young) man in the UK of East Asian heritage is at least 5'9'' or above. That's just a stupid exaggeration like OldieButGoldie when he said he was the shortest guy in his university in Germany at 5'8''. I also doubt the 5'10'' average claim for Northern China. You're a young guy on the shorter side going through LL which will NOT be an easy endeavour. I have trouble seeing why you would be so insistent on these exaggerated numbers...do you like to feel short?

I can't believe the amount of people with negative IQ's finding their way onto this forum now. I don't like to waste time on trolls but my god.... Do you guys actually go outside or look at ANY data or statistics at all before coming to your conclusions?

Fking "every East Asian I know is under 5'3 with under 5'9 kids"

How much worse can your perception of reality possibly be??? There are legitimately zero East Asian countries where the average male height is below 5'3, not even North Korea with it's starving population, and slave camps.

And suddenly their children are now supposed to grow 2 standard deviations in height taller than them, and this is your observation for EVERY East Asian you've ever seen? fking looooooool tbh.

LL, height, short complexes, anxiety, everything aside, it's just insane the kind of bull  you can read in general posted by retards on the outer rims of the Internet. It's truly mind blowinglg dumb.

OP, you didn't stunt your height. Once I read you parents height in the first sentence I glared at my screen and rolled my eyes. Even amongst wealthy first wordlers, it's not uncommon to be slightly shorter or the same height as your father. Just think about it logically, if everyone was taller than their dads: why aren't we all 6ft10?

Also lol at the other thread where some guy conducted that "survey of 112" women or whatever. I'm seriously more concerned for the intelligence of these people than thejr issues with heightism, maybe the struggles they face in life are more due to their retardation rather than lack of height.

Well I'm 5ft 5. My father is around 5ft 6-7 and my mother is about 5ft 4.Height genetics are incredibly unpredictable it seems.

All my brothers grew to 5ft 9- 6ft. I was born 3 and a half months prematurely which I'm certain affected my final height.

Hopefully this means my genes aren't terrible so my children don't have to suffer lol.

But honestly yes people on this forum act as if 5ft 9 isn't average male height in the west and that there's some worldwide conspiracy that covers up the ' real average height' of 6ft lol

Cause everyone always adds an inch or two to their actual height plus people mostly are seen with shoes which give a little bit of height

Someone that’s 5’10 is 5’11 with some air maxes or something and they round it up to 6ft
