Hi Everyone,
About myself, I am 29 male and my current height is 173 . my goal is 6-7 cm. I was planning this surgery from last 4 years and collecting money .Finally i am here . Honestly i choose Dr. Pradeep Sharma because of his previous patients who all outcomes with good results and i spoke 2-3 CLL doctors over phone regarding CLL but i was satisfied with his answers and other important factor is Harry i heard about him a lot here and old forum as well, he has good experience with CLL patient and i know Exercise/Rehabilitation is most important part after the surgery so he knows how to handle .
I came to India on 15 December 2019. i was on travelling . Previously my surgery planned on 15 Jan 2020 but i asked Harry to plan bit early so my surgery is on 8th jan 2020.
Firstly i contact Harry, he is managing everything here. Cost i paid 17000 USD for surgery, accommodation, food, caretaker and physiotherapy for 3-5 months.
I will keep update regarding my journey.

My anxiety level getting high . Tomorrow 8 in thr morning they will take me to the hospital and about 2-3 hours later my surgery is scheduled so I am getting nervous . Fingers crossed, I hope everything would go smoothly. And I really hope that I will sleep sound tonight.

Hey Smaller, it happens to everyone i was scared days before surgery even questioning if i even had to go through it all, am sure you'll get through it be strong and stay motivated may be keep some books with you if you are into reading and download some bunch of films and series, staff in that hospital is super friendly and kind, good luck.

So it was done in epidural, hell painful injection. It took 4 hours according to my time schedule. Last i checked it was 13:00hr when i entered in that scary room and it was 17:30hr in ICU. I shooked when i realised that i could not even move my toes. So in panic i called the nurse. Harry was waiting outside so she called harry. He came in and explained that its perfectly ok after epidural surgery.Than he made me calm and asked me to wait for few more hours to come back from the anaesthesia. It was around 20:00hr when DR PRADIP SHARMA (SURGEON) came in. We had small conversation and he left.
In the mid night they shifted me to a personal room. in In morning One boy (caretaker) was there for the whole time.
One more thing i hate the catheter.

Dear LL'ers ,
Shifted in guesthouse day before yesterday. Let me tel you the shifting was very unpleasant and the frames are heavy. I am a person who sleeps on the stomach and i know now this is going to be very difficult and stressful for next few months. Throbbing pain is there took IV pain killer for initial three days. Now trying to avoid as much as possible. I hate the weather here. Next update will be once i start the lengthening. Wish me luck and lots of strength.

Today I started lengthening first day. Excitement on the top. Following the standard protocol for lengthening. Discomfort and uneasiness still there. I don’t know how long it will take to accommodate with frames.

Turn 5 mm till today. Start physiotherapy twice a day. Eating healthy , non-vegetarian at least once a day and doing good so far.
Not much in pain but yes bit discomfort is there. Don’t feel like to do anything but there is long road to go . Can’t be board so soon.

Same in my case, right leg was was stronger than left, I heard around same for most LLers, you will recover soon, once you are off frames you can go out to do stuff

Level of mobility is improved. For the first time I used dumbbells also funny experience. Harry came with this idea of strengthening. Harry is a good person to talk to if you feeling low or depressed. He gave lots of idea to boost your level of motivation and keep you focused on your goal . Tomorrow I will complete 2cm lengthening. Pretty much accommodated with the frames now. Everyday feel eager to stand to walk but I know it’s long road to go. No pain and as such no discomfort. Dr. Pradeep Sharma came to check on me last weekend. He is a pleasant personality. Didn’t talk much but it was nice of him to come and check.

22nd day since i started lengthening but feel like few days. standing twice a day now with walker support. I can stand bit longer now. Harry cleaned the pin side this week. Feeling my skin ripped over pin sides. They check frame every week, and tighten them. Yesterday i sat for a long time keeping my feet on floor, got swollen feet. I got panicked and called, he said its usual if sits for long. Elevate and rest that's all i had to do. Today i took painkiller, there was some unease and discomfort.
Doing all my leg exercises and included upper body too.
Caretaker is slow and hard to communicate but he understand you somehow, manageable overall.
Quality of food and hygiene is good. If you have need for anything other then these stuff you can ask them they help 100%.

skyisthelimit, Thank you for the concern. yes i am improving every passing day. This is strictly my opinion with not being biased for anyone so far my experience is good. Not having any kind of trouble or inconvenience.yes I can recommend on my experience but you always check the background and get all your queries answered first because at the end the decision is yours. I can rate them 9/10 by saying the things are good enough but nothing on your tips you have to manage and ask, you will get what you want.Very helpful and concern staff. Treatment is so far 10 but i guess the answer for this should be given once i recover. I am still in frame and lengthening so the actual feedback i can give once i start walking.
I Choose Dr Pradip was genuinely on the basis of past record and the conversastion i had with the LL'ers who had treated by him left already.
So be thorough with your queries.

Feeling very low from past few days. Days are getting long and boring , Didn't feel like to come here and write anything because of all the nonsense going on here. Feel depressed by reading all the fuzz. Everyone is educated enough if they are reading this forum no-one is promoting anyone. i personally am just sharing my experience of lengthening. So far its good. i have lengthened 2.5 till today.

Quick update , Feeling stretch in my both legs .Sometime its like burning (skin stretch feel) . Till yesterday i was turning 1mm/day. From today .75 . Right knee pin cut bothering me . feel like don't want these frame but pushing myself to achieve my goal 5.5 cm. My last x-ray

What cms are you at. You didn’t say how much you lengthened

Situation is in favour till now turned around 4.4 cm little discomfort and pain is there, which is inevitable this procedure is like that only.
Its very difficult to wait when you are reaching the end. Ankle touches the floor slowly while standing but they are still in touch with the floor.
Thigh strengthening is the most difficult part because the soreness kills you when you have never done that before. All is well so far.

Hopefully going for X-ray today. Took almost three days off from lengthening because of systemic illness didn’t feel like to do anything whole body was hurting, feeling better now . I don’t want to miss any more days just want to finish soon , Everything is going well. Can stand with my heels on the ground. Soon I will update my X-ray.

Done with the lengthening. I hope almost reached my goal(5.5cm). Eagerly I was waiting for this to end and now slower the process has become, all the hospitals here by avoid taking non elective surgeries because of the Corona virus though I can get it done any time but Dr. Pradip also suggesting the same. The world is in danger. My surgery is postponed till the lock down . I am myself avoiding any kind of exposure. The virus is spreading very fast. I don’t know till what time the things will get better.
I urge all of you to stay safe and stay home. I am kinda scared. Hope everything will turnout safe soon. Doing all my exercises as I have nothing else to do. Walking on regular bases with walker.

Life seems much batter now . Transitions become comfortable. Every day going one step up. No specific disturbances or swelling or pain. Started standing from last night. My heels perfectly touching to the floor means no ankle deformity at all happy i am . Life is very very boaring now a days.
In the other words no life at all. No online/on call food delivery. I was planning for an outing and i was waiting for my frame removal but no outing no shopping not even online shopping.Trust me i don't feel like to do any exercise any more so bore.

Moving ahead strongly everyday. Its very hard to learn to walk again and very frustrating to start allover again when in your head you know everything but still you can't cope with the strength. Pushing your own self needs too much of mental health balance. The only focus is to get back home as early as possible and as normal as you can. My only focus is, do not let my family get paniced to see me walking crooked. So moral of the story is, i walked for few steps today felt difficult but well tried.

I gained 5.5cm. No i am not feeling any pain just feeling discomfort and stiffens in my both ankles but still recovering well.

Thank you for asking and reading my posts, i can move my ankle up and down in both directions but at the end have to push stronger. In other words i say the end ranges are not smooth enough. I don't know about pushing the gas paddle because haven't tried yet but in air moving down is easier than taking up.
My Physio is giving me wax bath, ankle mobilisation and good amount of calf stretches. You can try that if possible it helps.

A new walking aid, i guess i did good. Though there was some discomfort in my armpit initially but gradually became fine. If i exactly calculate the timings i almost walked for an hour in a whole damn day. I believe i am doing good. Started pumping exercises for my calf with resistance band and ankle exerciser. I will post some of the pictures too.

Generalise condition is improved . Walking is much batter now. My heel touches the floor very smoothly i don't have to put efforts to move my ankles.
Few steps can walk without any support. Some time there is jerky movement felt in knee but very rarely.
There is one more video. I can walk smoothly now with aid without taking too much of support.

why you did choice india? are you satisfied all process?
ı live in ,istanbul. nowadays our doctor performers not quite well ı see all diaries some lawyers,some cases.
how about india? russia is also bad reputations.
ı am confusen istanbul , greece or india?

Thank you for asking my opinion. First thing I also had limited money And options was also limited. All counties are doing good, noting to blame for that. But I will tell you only on my experience. My journey went really well and comfortable. The doctor and team here doing really well. Patient care and environment is positive. And most importantly past patient record is also impressive. I am very satisfied with my choice of doctor. Can’t force you but in India Dr Mangal parihar and Dr Pradip Sharma are doing great. But I opt Here because the patient care is excellent here. I never had to do anything they took care of everything I just came here .

Thank you for appreciation. All thanks to Dr. Sharma for good work and majorly thanks to Harry who works really hard to keep up the good work.
They work systematically which benefits the patients. The environment they create should be appreciated.I will post my next video of stair climbing soon.

What else?
I can tell its the most boring and the same time most exciting experience, i've been working all day because literally have nothing else to do may be because now i am desperate to move. Walking on road nearby, realise the emptiness.Felt so disappointed for the situation hope everything will get back to normal soon for everyone.
People are asking me in personal massages when i am going back, friends i don't know anything for sure only wait for flights to resume.
I can do my each and every work sometime with some discomfort and most of times fine. Doing stairs keeping in mind not sudden and jerky moves. Maintain the balance. I am doing good so far.

Hi, Thank you for the wishes. No i don't feel any pain just mild stiffness only in morning. Not much just few round in guest house and some time around 500 meter out side with Harry. I lengthen 5.5cm. No running and jumping now.

Hi, latest update about my recovery.
Experiencing change every day, gaining strength feet felt more strong and steady on ground. I can walk much longer now Because my walking ability very much improve than earlier, I am trying to speed up my walk even i say I tried brisk walk but my inner strength didn’t give me much support. Felling very hard to push my limits.
There is no stiffness and pain but I am tired everyday going through with the same routine didn’t feel like to do much.

Great diary I just scanned through it, and my only question is which surgeon is a better option to do the surgery, Dr Parihar or Dr Pradip Sharma, I’ve read few good diaries from Dr parihar and he seems like the best surgeon in India right now but seeing few Dr Pradip diaries, Dr sarin just seems like a bad option, I am thinking of doing 2 surgeries maybe, borh femurs and tibia, thinking of stryde, please reply bro , also hope you have a fast recovery!!! Bro i am not a doctor, I can't choose a doctor for anyone other than myself. Dr Parihar might be a good doctor but i couldn't find any live diary of him neither any patient i could connect with. There is his name flying around no live testimony.
I had months long conversation with patients so far Dr sharma is doing good.
And no comments on anyone else. Whom so ever you choose please go through with reviews.

Just quick update. Walking almost back to normal. Started doing half squats. Flexibility is getting batter now. Life is almost back to normal now.

Thank you for your wishes. No brother I am not planning for the nail removal yet, may be after a year or year an half later.
Advice is Make sure you don’t eat too much of anti inflammatory unnecessary. Take good amount of sunlight, maintain your vitamins levels, rich in protein and calcium food an be in touch with your doctor. That’s all you have fallow with you daily routine.

Fortunately my lengthening went very smoothly I don’t have any ballerina,knee tightness or morning stiffness now I can walk as normal as any other. I can even run also. I definitely would like to thank Dr.Sharma and specially to Harry whom I can connect with any time. He almost connect with you every time. Very helpful I certainly bothered him many times but he always reply in a best way. I am back to work. Working diligently on bulking my leg muscles.

My legs movements are getting fluent.
Started all my activities like before. Started yoga sessions for flexibility. Sometimes soreness is there but so far all good.
I can jog 30-40 minutes continuously.

the picture you took with the frames aren't even taken by you. it's literally impossible to take it at that angle.

For me, they both are very compatible team. Specially
Harry worth all the appreciation because he works really hard. You can reach out to him for any reason and he will try every possible effort to complete the task.
For Dr Pradip very humble and down to earth doctor. Less talkative but a very good doctor.
There is always a chaos and will be forever, I suggest talk to the person directly if you have any doubts. No one can judge better than yourself. Conversation always work.

Happy New Year to all the fella here, life is good and absolute normal when compare to daily routine and not supremely athletic. So i can run, comfortably do my job, stairs climbing, single leg stand without support, these are all i remember to mention.
Intense stretching helped me a lot, flexibility is good. I would like to thank you to all who supported me throughout this journey. Hardest part for the new heights is over now and i am happy to cross that bridge.
