Title: Precice LL in Istanbul with muharrem inan TOMORROW 17.01.2020
Post by: TheB3ast on January 16, 2020, 09:10:11 PM
Hello guys,

I'm here in hospital right now and im going to limb lengthening surgery tomorrow (tibia) on 17.01.19 with Muharrem Inan (Istanbul, Turkey) and I will share all the experience and details with you. I feel both excited and nervous, as I've been thinking about the surgery for almost 2 years.

Since I became aware of the surgery I've been reading about it and several concerns have arisen about the quality of life I will have post surgery: “Will I be able to run, jump, lift weight, workout, etc, as before? Is it possible to lose movement? Will my range of motion be limited? Will my bones, muscles and joints remain strong and health?”, and so on.

I have a fitness lifestyle since my teenagerhood and I deeply care about my health and wellness. Althought, for personal reasons, I haven't been able to workout everyday in the past few months, I am 31y and I am the fittest, strongest and most mobile I have ever been. It was very important for me to make sure that I wouldn't lose any of that. I understand the importance of sticking to the limit of the body and that after surgery there will be a period of rehabilitation and strengthening, I just didn't want to be damaged and unable to exercise.

Whilst having many questions about all aspects of surgery itself I came across with the struggle of choosing the right doctor. I had a meeting with Dr. Muharrem Inan 1 year ago and since then I have been reading the forum and deliberating all the elements. Last month I finally made up my mind and made all the arrangements.

I'm 164 cm tall and I don't have any specific goals but would be great to, safely, reach 176 cm total. I don't want to make it to the max and then regret after surgery because of the consequences.

I still have some questions for which I did not find an answer in the posts I read on the forum, and I would appreciate a lot if you guys could give me your opinions and maybe share some pictures.

1) What is the correct ratio of arms to legs? My torso is the normal length for my height but my wingspan is 174 cm and one doctor told me that my arms would look short if my femur grows 6cm.
I have compared my arms, from elbow to tip of the finger, with my friends who are over 174 cm and the difference was only 1-1.5 cm.

2)I don't want to go over in tibia 6cm its for sure, but I don't know about femur if it's ok doing different lengthening. Will the legs look disproportionate? If someone could send pictures of their legs would be great to see if the eyes are really able to spot the difference.

Anyway, I will keep you all updated of the process sharing photos and videos before/after surgery and when I'm in condition I will add videos while running and lifting over 100 kg. I might not be able to write so often and my english is not that good but I think the pictures and videos are the most important.

The forum is already full of good information and I hope that my own experience will add value to this community so that we can help the ones who are still thinking about it.

Age: 31
Gender: Male
Current Height: 164 cm
Wingspan: 174 cm
Goal: 176-178 cm. Tibia 6cm and femur 7-8 cm. I'll observe my body and take it day by day.
Living Situation: I live in Finland and I will stay in Istanbul for 20 days following the surgery.
Surgery method: Precice system

The surgery is done and i feel a lot of pain on my left leg. It was bleeding from the morning until around the midnight. It seems all is fine now. I lost blood more than normally during the surgery but my trombosit is fine. Around my left toe burns a lot and its very painful... is that normal? The right one has no any pain.

Nice bro! I wish you all the best.

What is your sitting height? I'm trying to get 6 cm max in my tibias for sports reasons and I'm not willing to take many risks of damaging my body.

How much is your wingspan? Mine is 175 cm. I am not sticking to a definite number, I'll listen to my body and trust my doctor's advices, he knows best, but I would be beyond happy if I could get 6cm + 6 cm.

I'm feeling better compared to first day, the painkillers works but the pain as is horrible as they say.

I never measure my wingspan before, im sure you will get easy 6 cm in tibia, my goal is femur 9 or 10 cm and tibia 7, now i reach 7 cm on femur and believe me is not easy after 7 cm is really hard is no pain my skin is tight and i feel 2 or 3 more cm on femur  will be  very hard to i get, but i give my best to do and doctor say if is all ok with my knees i made tibia now when i remove femur fixators

Okay i see. Are u sure that u want 9-10cm in femur bro? You should stay 8cm max on femur to not damage ur body. In tibia they say a lot that you can get 8cm but its not that easy also. I try to get 6cm in tibia. I just want to be 175cm at least but 176-177cm would be better 👍 i hope all best for you ☝️😎

Ok bro, you have long hands and this is good. You are trying 9cm and try to follow how far your hands are from your knee. Do you have any picture to show how your propotion is right now? I would like to see if you dont mind 👍 how much is your hight when you sit? I wish all best for your next surgery. Just listen your body dont force it ;)

DAY 6

I came to home from hospital aroun 21 pm. After one hour pains started. Doctor wrote to me 50mg, 25mg trometanol and 30mg Lansoprazol. All these didnt help  . I didnt sleep all night. I was just god take me 😅 next day i called to my doctor and he gave me tramadol100mg. But i didnt even start to take because paint was gone slowly. Im trying to not use medicines as much i can sleep. I will use tramadol when i really need it ofcourse in future. I started finalley lenghtening 😎 im trying to exercise as much as i can to reach 6cm for my tibias without any problems with good flexibility. I will be here in Turkey until 05.02.2020 after that i will go back to europe my own home. I just want to make sure that all is fine before leaving. I have a lot of knee pain when try to get 90 degrees or more. Is that normal?

Maximum you can get is 8 cm with stryde or precise nails.
The fact you’re doctor says you can do more is odd, since the nail
is not that long. Perhaps he is unaware or perhaps he inserted you with
another type of nail.

DAY 24 2,4CM NOW!  8)

I came back to home from Turkey 05.02. I feel much better now. Im taking now tramadol 100mg before sleep and 1g panadol every 8 hour. Im not feeling my skin on my left leg close to my knee from the outside. Doctor said its normal? I still feel some nerve pain and my skin is sensitive. My bones are moving on my both legs while moving or when exercise. I dont feel any pain but its weird :D Doctor said that this is normal too. Is there anybody else who have this with precice nails? I took 2 days ago new xray and all looks fine and screws are not loosen. I just feel stiff even i train a lot and massaging my muscles every day. I think all is normal?

Here is my first xray

URGENT UPDATE!!

Hello guys,
On the last weeks I have been trying to handle the pain, keep my recovery program and a health mindset. Unfortunately I couldn’t hope but to be stressed and worried.

Since the surgery I have a misalignment (can be seen from the side) that became more visible as the leg became less swollen. During the last weeks it became more visible from outside, both the bone and one screw. I was checking the Forum to find someone that might have had similar experience, and that was the moment that I noticed that I might be screwed up.

The doctor said that during the Lengthening the bone would align by itself, but I haven’t seen any improvement, and, althought I am not professional, it doesn’t make much sense that this will happen anyway.

My motivation is very low, I don’t know if I should stop the Lengthening, I am halfway now, around 3,5 cm. I fear having a permanent misaligned bone and having some kind of injury that prevents me to have a healthy life.

I just found 2 posts about that situation. I would be glad if the ones with knowledge give an opinion about the options to fix the problem and if I should continue to be assisted by the same doctor. I want to believe that he is capable of handlannut this but my trust on him is jeopardized.

I am planning on checking an orthopedic doctor (but I value the content and knowledge here on the Forum, that’s why I make a point to hear from you guys) on the next days, even if its not specialist in LL but can help to make my bone aligned again.

No man, forget that. NONE of us here are Limb lengthening doctors who know complications like that.  That looks serious and I’ve never seen a lengthening do that especially with precise.

Get off this “forum” ( aka a group of guys JUST like you who are discontent with our height and the issues it gives many of us) and find a QUALIFIED bone doctor ( orthopedic specialist)  and see what is that person’s evaluation.

Hope this issue gets fix quickly

Hello the beast, only thing you should consider right now is to contact your doctor and other doctors as well, so that if this is a big issue, I’m sure it’s reversible at this moment. Maybe you should consider to stop lengthening for the moment being. Best of luck to you man! I hope you get through this

It seems that your bone was broken, but with a wrong direction (diagonally instead of perpendicular).

I am not a doctor, but It seems that it can be fixed.

Dang bro, that honestly doesn't look good, and how the fk would the bone align itself magically if it's fixed on the screws like that and way off from alignment right now? sometimes these doctors know they fked up and try to play stupid... I hate to see it! sorry it's happening to you, never heard of your doctor though ... Muharrem Inan? hope he's capable and ethic enough to fix his wrong doings. best of luck

Hello guys!

Im back! Misalignment is fixed on my left leg by the same doctor. I did 6cm on my tibias. Im walking almost normally. I use Right now one crutch to support my right leg because the bone is not healed enough yet. I feel pain when i put my full weight on it. Im happy anyway that i can move by myself without any help.

When my Lengthening was completed and pain started to be ok, i started go to gym in wheelchair. It was very difficult to me but i was like fu*k it.. i have to.. my body need that. When i enter to the gym jesus the face of people who knew and seen me before like Wtf happen to this guy 😂 and a lot of my friend was suprised, shocked to see like that but i just said that my other leg was shorter than the other and needed to make Lengthening to fix it. On the other leg knee problem also that they knew about. So i didnt lie here i had really these two problems but i just didnt tell about Lengthening 😁

Anyway hitting the gym helped me a lot mentally and i got some weight back. I lost during the lenghtening 9kg now i got back 15kg including sweet belly 😅 i had very strong ballerina so that was difficult to fix. I had to stretch A LOT and many time during the day. Every morning i was so stiff and this made me pissed off and the pain was horrible. Now im feeling better but my calves are still tight but its getting better slowly. I will continue my diary and upload some pictures later 😇

Hello, Im pretty fine. Im walking and training lightly my legs. Healing of the bone is a little bit slow. I dont have any problem with doctor because all is fixed and im fine. We just need to remember that surgeries doesnt go always like we hope. There is always some possibilities to some complications. Im doing very well now and im almost ready for the second surgery on my femurs. I will add pictures and videos of myself soon :)

One year. I did with precice 2. I have still the nails and my bones are not fully  healed. Depends of the persons age, diet, bodytype, smoke, alcohol, etc.. i dont smoke and drink alcohol but it took anyway long time. I cant still run...This is really very long progress 😌

That was probably the worse misalignment I've ever seen in my life. Glad it's fixed! Hope you're recovering soon. Good luck 🙏🏼
