Title: probability of the precise/stryde to work for second lengthening
Post by: fivetenneeded2016 on February 19, 2021, 05:36:05 PM
I have read 6cmfemur's experience that he tried to retract the nail in the consolidated bone, then rebreak and relocking the nail to achieve further lengthening but it failed.
It was also an old precise and it was after a few years of conolidation.

What are the chances of the nail failure for a newer precide nail and may be reusing after 10-11 months. Assuming consolidation by then.

Paley does this actually with STRYDE. Time gap between the two lengthening "phases" is a year. I think this type of nail failure is rather unlikely but you have to ask him.
