My limb lengthening journey India with Dr Amar Sarin
« on: November 22, 2022, 06:13:54 PM »

My height 167 cms
Age in 30s
started on 15th November

I opted Dr Amar Sarin because of many factors
A. Price
B. location
C. Accommodation
D. Experience of Dr Amar Sarin ( Priority )

I am doing Tibia lon and my goal is at least 8 cm

I met with Dr Amar Sarin personally and he answered all my concerns.
I’ve been looking for this surgery from last 5 years and finally after meeting Dr Amar I somehow was satisfied and decided to go for it, as it’s now or never.

PS. Dr Amar Sarin never pushes you for money.. I told him my situation that I can’t pay in full and will be paying monthly on which they were fine completely.

Not everyone is rich but everyone have some kind of dreams which they want to fulfill and getting the average height in my country was my dream since my growth plates became still.

I wanted to be 5 feet 9 inches .

So i went to the hospital and they prepared me for the surgery.. blood tests, X-rays,ecg and few more.
It was my first time when I saw the operation theatre from inside. Trust me they are horrible and you feel like  . My breathing became abnormal when I was waiting for the ot room in waiting area of the operation theatre. I was lying on the bed. Few more patients were also there for some other kind of surgeries. I kept looking here and there. I was the only patient for LL that day.
All the ot rooms were full so with few other patients I was waiting for my turn.
At that time I was thinking that am I doing right ?
suddenly a ward boy came from one of the ot room and asked the attendant to shift one patient from ot to icu and there I started getting anxiety
Anyway my schedule was around 11 but I reached ot at 11:30 and they took me inside the ot around 12
The room was very scary trust me. I was asking everyone about anaesthesia .. where will I get it in the body and about the pain  and many other question.
Finally I was on the ot bed and the big lights were on top of me.
One lady doctor came and spoke to me gently that how I’m feeling. Here I got some relieve and I asked her few questions . She said I will get the anaesthesia in my spine and there will be no pain while doing so. And the whole procedure will take around 3 hrs.
A doctor came and injected something in my cannula and just after a few seconds later I had blur vision and I felt like I’m drunk.
After that I Didn’t feel any pain. I was awake during the procedure. They put a cloth in front of my eyes. And behind the curtain the doctors were operating. The sound of hammer was clear to me.
They operated on the right leg first and it took longer in the right leg than the left one.
I asked one of the anaesthetist that put me in sleep by giving me something as I was very uncomfortable with the sounds and tbh afraid too.
They said ok but I was awake till they said all done.
Around 3:30 they took me out from the ot and kept in their waiting area for sometime to observe.
I was dizzy and couldn’t see my legs as they were numb cuz of anaesthesia.
They shifted me to my room around 4 pm
I had no pain. And I was too hungry but they said after a few hours and that only water.
Around 7 they gave me something to eat and that was very less and light.
I was on epidural (some kind of pain killer machine ) I saw it first time. It was directly connected to my spine. The intensity was at 4. And they were giving antibiotics and pain killers via cannula too.
So the pain wasn’t there. Gradually I got my sensation back on my left leg first ( around midnight ) but right leg was still numb the next day too. I asked doctor if I am okay ? Or this is some kind of complication. They said not to worry and will be alright by night. So the next night my right leg got sensation back.
I was not able to sleep for almost 3 days..doctor gave me sleeping pill for just that one day.
Now the real hurdle came .. washroom.. the ward boy gave me bedpan to poo. I felt so bad that this thing bought me here and I started thinking about the patients how they were handling such things and I opted this thing myself.
I tried but couldn’t do properly because of constipation( lots of medication I had ). So i started eating very less so that i Dont have to use it again. I was expecting to use washroom in the guesthouse asap. But when I didn’t know.
Everyday around 5 doctors use to come to see me and my health and the nursing staff was very good too.
I researched everywhere but no one gonna tell you these things..as from here you will start your journey not directly doing 1 MM LL daily.
I initially thought this is gonna be the very easy and the hard part will start in the guesthouse.
But NO.. the moment you come from ot the struggle will start.
My advice.. drink a lot of water after the surgery so you can minimise the constipation and buy yourself a good bedpan and don’t just rely on hospital. It wasn’t very deep and were very uncomfortable. They will give you loose for the constipation but trust me it won’t work. Try to hydrate yourself as much as u can.
Second big problem I faced was my urinal pipe. On 4th day my urinal system stopped suddenly. My urine was not passing and due to this I got stomach ache. I told the doctors and they tried fixing it but couldn’t. So they removed the urinal system. But it’s not over yet as I was unable to push myself to pee. The doctor said to take few minutes if you can’t do that then we have to again use urinal pipe for that. I tried for around 15 minutes and it came but with lil blood and lots of pain.
Now it’s my 8th day and I am still having pain while urinating.

Sometime I faced little pain in my legs but all tolerable. I was able to move my legs, bend my knees a little and roatate my ankle.

Dr Amar Sarin came twice in those 5 days to meet me. And other doctor were very frequent.

So finally they moved me to their guesthouse which is in GuruGram. It’s located in a very good place. It’s basically a hotel but all rooms are taken by Dr Amar Sarin.
I came here before also to meet other LLners.

Bandages were still there on my legs. In hospital 4th day they changed it. And 2nd day in the guesthouse or you can say 6th day they removed the bandages.
7th day they gave me sandals with straps

Today is the 8th day.. I got the first physiotherapy session today in the evening and they started my limb Lengthning journey by turning the screw by 0.25 mm.

I sometime take pain killers orally when it’s painful. Taking my antibiotics and other medications prescribed by the doctor.

Sleeping is difficult trust me. All the LLners in my guesthouse have same issues like me.
Someday I sleep for 10 hrs but most of the time is like on and off.

First day at guesthouse almost everyone get fever or dizziness due to medications they stopped.
I didn’t faced this but when I tried to use the washroom it gave me a nightmare. While pushing myself to sit on that chair with the assistance of course I was almost fainted. It took my whole energy.
But that was my first day. And it’s improved since then.

Today is the 8th day and I had my dinner..took my medicines and thinking what to watch on OTT.

Wish me luck.. sharing this information as I never found such kind of things anywhere for myself.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Also I will try to share my entire journey here with you guys.. so that it can help you too.

Sorry for my English. And thank you for reading this big novel 😁

Regards

I am pretty sure that I didn’t wrote dr names while I told how I had my food and I how struggled with my bowl movements. So how can you persist saying that this is an ad .sharing negative reviews about a 100 % legit experience. Also forget the doctor just focus on the experience which I had.
I thought my experience will help other people to get ready or how to prepare for the surgery and what happens just after the surgery. As it is very important and nobody lets you know the struggle for the same. The rest of the experience I’ll share when days goes by as this is my 8th day after the surgery. I hope things are smooth for me in this journey.

So it’s been 11 days since ot and 3 days of lengthening
They do 0.25 mm four times a day.
Started taking physiotherapy twice a day. Due to surgery tibias swells up so, I am using ice packs few times a day.
I do take mild pain killer only in the night to sleep better.

Good luck
