don't listen to spiderman..

bagirov is ok as a surgeon... but his frames are too tight, and aftercare is nonexistent

his cutoff is not 170 either.. i was under 170, and so was another guy i know  that went to bagirov

Hes a butcher and his cut-off height is 170 cm. Solomin messed up someone, too. I wouldn't go to Russia.
Where do take your data from? Based on your statements you don´t seem to be very proficient to me when it comes to LL, so a little explaination might be needed.

So now that we know Spiderman is really ItsMyLife, does this mean that ItsMyLife officially regrets going to Dr. Bagirov?

He probably expected too much, doing 8cm´s on the tibias is probably just too much.

i assume so... yes

i think its a combination

1- ll is simply hard..... itsmylife wasnt  realistic about it

2- bagirovs frames are very tight.... makes things worse

3- no aftercare and hard to reach....  makes  the  ordeal exasperating

im not gonna say i  told you so.... but ive been telling people this for months... yet   people wanted to believe wannabegiant

bagirov is not a bad surgeon... but his frames are primitive, and  theres no aftercare... which means patients have a harder time than usual, and might make bad decisions since their surgeon is so far....

i advise everyone  getting ll to  go to a dr that makes  it a priority   to be nearby during lengthening/consolidation

Nope, IML is still studying and will start his semester soon! Check out the thread in "Off Topic" if you are interested in how he is doing now :) He's not going for 8 cm anymore. Doesn't wanna be too tall :)

Anyway IML will not update this diary anymore. He says he has crooked legs now. Spiderman has also heard of horror stories from both Solomin and Bagirov. So IML is seeking alternative medical care in his country now (nailing and manual re-alignment). I will keep him in my prayers.

You can still get crooked legs with LON if the surgeon inserts the nail incorrectly.

crooked legs is just 1 issue

by some miracle, my right leg is ok

my left has frontal plane malalignment(knock knee)

sagittal plane(when viewed from the side) malalignment

consolidation location isnt aligned either... i forget 1 or 2 other things

ive heard a few  people say that knock knees or bow legs don't impact walking... i can tell you  for sure that they do, especially when combined with other deformities

i scheduled my correction surgery in nyc.... i suggest everyone that has an issue like this get it fixed asap, and not to wait

How would they correct your crooked legs? Any advice to IML?

ill go along with this... since i think its a real question

yes...  need to have legs corrected by a surgeon... i assume the bone isnt consolidated.... should be under the supervision of a trained orthopaedist, and one hat has had experiene with ilizarov

not hard to correct... even my case will take only 3 weeks to correct gradually... and could be  corrected acutely during the surgery

You mean the doctor can manipulate the bone during surgery? Eg, nail insertion?  Your frames are able to correct crookedness problem if there is no consolidation?
Its astonishing to see how this surgery can cause so many complications. I am deeply saddened by IML's complication and it is one big factor which stops me from doing this surgery. He is a bright athlete who has a ruined future cause of this.

yes... a trained dr can correct  during the surgery and keep it in place with a nail

frames should be able to correct if not consolidated

Thank you, you are very kind. I will tell him about it
How do you know the frame can correct most problems? What if it is an angulation problem? The frames seem too simple compared to Taylor Spatial Frame, for instance, or the typical six-pin Ilizarov frames :O

well... you're right

might need to get new frame on, instead of the bagirov frame... the bagirov frame is very primitive

need a system like the tsf
