Good pictures man, I honestly can't see a huge difference between your first and last pics. Your femurs seemed to be kind of short pre-op so probably a good choise to do them instead of your tibia bones.

Good luck with your recovery mate

Other than your arms looking a bit short, you honestly look more symmetrical IMO. Your femurs looked proportionately smaller in the before pics in my opinion. Congrats on reaching the finish line man.

Week 25 (Feb 8 – Mar 15)
Post Op: 178 days
Goal achieved:  8 cm
Consolidation days: 90

It’s been almost 4 weeks since Dr M. gave me the all clear to fully weight bear but I’m still not walking.  I was under the impression that once I could weight bear walking would soon follow.  That has not been the case for me and I have stopped setting aggressive expectations. I will keeping pushing myself and at this point hope that within another month will be walking.  I've become an expert at crutches and this week I've started to use a cane while in the house. As part of my exercise routine walk on the cane about 250ft 4x per day.  My goal is by the end of this coming week to start venturing out into the world with cane only.  Today I’m not so sure I’ll reach that goal legs feel very weak and I struggle to do the 250ft.

Overall Mood: Frustrated that I’m not walking but I’ve reset my expectations and will try and be more patient.  On a more positive note my prolonged phase of using crutches has reinforced my faith in humanity.    My fellow humans have shown me nothing but kindness and willingness to help me get by on crutches. It's heart warming.

Haven't asked him but my PT says its normal after not using muscles for so long.  I think another major set back was my road trip back to Miami from LA.   I drove back so I could stop at several cities to meetup with friends. That was 10 days of not doing any exercises and lots of crutching.  I think now that I'm back on a regular routine I will recover quickly.  Actually this afternoon after posting did 250FT using cane with no problems.

Afonso,
Good to hear that you are enjoying your life, with road trips and visiting friends.
I am glad that you are switching to cane. Hopefully everything will go smooth, and then you can get rid of the cane when you are ready. Stay strong.
